The deck must have a kick tail on the back, I feel it’s necessity for slow speed manoeuvres. I’m sick of having to step off the board when it’s a super tight corner.

My Bioboard Plutonium x4 AT with storm core 100D should be coming next week. I am the first in the UK with this configuration according to the designer Marcus. I have also gone for the titanium screw pack as well. I love your real world reviews of Evolve. You really helped me when I was buying my GTR. But as you guys have said in previous podcasts and the reason Ricky went DIY was the same reason I have invested (heavily) in Bioboards. Just wasn’t getting the speeds or range I wanted from other boards. Anyway just wanted to say always here if you guys want to see the board and ride together for reviews or comparisons or just for new content in your podcast with a relatively rare board in the UK. Was strange when Ownboard had their decks looking like an exact rip off of a BGTR. Maybe these lads dream of Evolve in their sleep or something but I'd have assumed they could have come up with their own board design 😂

Oh my God finally a proper double drop eskate! I dyi-ed my own because I hated riding 9 inches above the ground on every board on the market. But my dyi relies heavily on duct-tape, so I'm happy to see a production board sitting lower to the ground.

Hi thanks is for the feedback we priced it between the Onsra and evolve, evolve just has a sale on at the moment please take into account we are using better quality cells in our board and also a better quality vesc these parts are not cheap but rele reflects on how this board performs ie it out perform both the Onsra and evolve, appreciate the comment tho thanks 🙏🏼
@@rickyeverett Might be the exchange rate then. Onsra belt is $1550. Evolve AT (non sale) is $1700. M5 street is $1800. M5 AT is $1950. These are in USD.
@@bmrbca3658 the evolve gtr bamboo is £1250 here with the travel battery, £1450 with the 10S4P battery, and 1400 with every eskate discount code on UA-cam. I think this is a little over priced an risky for someone whose just learnt to DIY but time will tell. It's not that hard so could get what is offered, whether that's worth it is up to the consumer.

Can definitely see the benefit of going DIY. I guess to me it seems like a big price and big risk, with someone that's only just learnt to DIY 3 months ago. No telling if the 9 month warranty will be honoured. People learn as they go. His board looks nice but deleting comments isn't inspiring. Why not just be honest, don't need to delete stuff. I think his personal board looks more the part, and maybe designing custom boards like that would be a better shout. (Though that's a copy of another custom board designer, 'Long Haired Boy' (on the outside), Ricky's personal board I mean. Anyway best of luck again :). (Plz don't delete again though)
Wow great job gentlemen. It just so happens I'm just finishing building a very similar EBOARD myself. Eovan deck, Flipsky 6374 190kv (GT3 group kit), eovan 19.2Ah 12s4p Panasonic 21700, 120mm Cloudwheels Discovery, Focbox, VX1 remote, aluminum heatsink, and miscellaneous parts. Basically after a lot of research, I build a Demon 2 copy (just cheaper). I have DD Onsra which I love but looking for a little bit more. The only thing I'll miss is the silent motors of DD. I like your offering!

Great product guys. I’m glad you’ve broken away from Evolve ....FYI Lacroix jaws is only $500 over your price and it’s premium titanium hardware 6368 motors storm core puck remote fast charger included 1 year warranty MBS Matrix 2 trucks and and wheels plus a pro level deck. I’ve been shopping for a somewhat off-road board for a year and this is my findings thus far. Having a hard time finding anything that will compete in price and components. It’s still expensive however. Keep this in mind when you price things out. Good luck boys.
I totally get it but it’s a completely different board for a different person and it’s £500 more if we charged 500 more then we could have the same specs as that board, that’s a nice cruising board with power but I would want to have to carry that board anyway taking it on a train would be hard work or restaurants etc also you wouldn’t want to put street wheels on it and go sliding and it’s definitely it and off-road board you need a trampa or something like that for the off road experience it’s also not that Manoeuvrable for whizzing around town so it’s a complete different-board aimed at different people still a kool board tho 👍🏼
isn't the lacroix jaws 2175 euros or 2600 usd that more than 500 dollars for those upgrades

its a great idea especially for on the road with cars, you guys should make the horn loud enough for cars to hear. thats one thing i found people talking about in the reddit electricskateboard forums, they want a horn loud enough for cars to hear, for added safety.
for the sidewalk with people or cyclists tho, i recommend maybe putting a "bicycle ringing bell" sound as a secondary sound, if thats at all possible. i find that people react well to a bicycle bell, as its a recognizable sound, and not too obnoxious like a like horn potentially could.
a horn for pedestrians might "alarm" them too much, or too jarring. while with the bicycle bell sound, its something recognizable and they don't have to think what is potentially coming up behind them, and when used from further away, really is not too loud and jarring.
just thought i'd share some thoughts, want to help you guys out with this.
Will you keep both remotes available after you make trigger style, carbon board timeframe( no rush just seeing if in works), still paying off my evolve having regrets lol 😆
If you want to use a trigger style remote with this board you can and any other remote you want with this board that’s the great thing about have a board you can use different parts with your not stuck with one thing if you don’t like the remote it ships with then choose another one 👍🏼
Congrats on the new release of boards lads. Id still keep up with the reviews,however make them dedicated as in put aside the fact that you have your own board company. Dont mention it during the reviews and perform simple road/performance tests , make it factual, be honest as always. I think if you do that you’ll continue to do great. Plus theres always bags,tools esk8 essentials that we all like to see reviewed as well. 😎

Is it a 12s4p and what vesc are you using im instead im look at a demon 2.0 by propulsion bords though im in the us but im very interested
So we are using the Spintend vesc in our boards the thing is built like a tank and very reliable, and yes 12s 4p Samsung 30q cells, I really like the guys over at propulsion boards they are using a couple of different bits than we are using tho so I think there boards is quite abit more expensive but still a solid board 👍🏼

Looks pretty good , but one of the wheel options is cloud wheels, and a little while back you trashed them on episode 7, are they the same wheel you said were no good? Or different in some way ?

I think people prioritise range over acceleration, anyone agree with that statement? I feel like being able to prolong your rides is far more important than winning a drag race lol
Not rele it’s like riding a sports car, you don’t buy one of those to get the most mpg out of it you buy one because you want that thrill and speed and I think once you have ridden 15-20miles you want to have a sit down anyway
Awesome to hear Ricky getting into selling his board. 2 questions
1 - why 9mo warranty? Your 3 mo away from the standard 1yr
2 - as a potential customer, I would like to know the exact vesc u are using. I have been using flipsky vesc and find the acceleration is jerky. It might be my programming but I've spent many hours to try to tweak it smoother without any luck. Will u be providing tips on what to adjust on vesc for more customization?
Hey dude we are open all suggestions but 9 months as I think people will start messing around with the vesc after that time and I don’t want people breaking things by changing setting 😂 we are using the Spintend esc very smooth very reliable and built like a tank 😂 I will be putting out full tutorials on everything you need to know about programming the board using the vesc tool 👍🏼 Flipsky vescs are cheap and get the job done but very unreliable so don’t worry I have people covered on all of that 👍🏼
Also after the board is out of warranty like I said these are totally customisable board meaning any diy parts you can find online will work with them so very easy to fix and maintain and you are not stuck with what you have, you can always upgrade and change this 👍🏼

This is great! If I can give a suggestion, custom build kits a little like MBoards does in the states. Shipping from the states makes it not all the worth it for us UK folk but I love the easy customisability their service offers. I've built one board with their kit and it was great. If you guys did something similar you'd get a sale from me.

This board looks crazy insane, but I heard you guys will be adding horn and led lights and stuff as a option. My question is when are those things coming out and should I wait to purchase the board or what? I’m a bit confused on if you are going to be adding anymore stuff to the board or if this is the board y’all are going to be selling and the horn and other stuff will just come later??
Those types of features can be purchased later and added to the board. Feel free to order when you like
Just ask on social media for local people to lend you review boards. Bribe them with a fat discount on the M5 or some other free shit.
Will you do hubs? I think they have potential, once there is more of a selection of hub motor sleeves
Sorry dude no hubs they are just not up to scratch when it come to performance and reliability they are also really cheap that’s why you alway see them on low end board will bear it in mind for future tho thanks for you input 👍🏼

What vesc do boards come with and is it a smart bms. Board charge and discharge?
Board comes with a Spintend vesc installed and the bms is bypassed for discharge 👍🏼 was going to go with a smart bms but it’s abit big and bulky for just being able to check your battery voltage
What's the benefit of your board over the exway atlas and Eovan boards? Note: I got the 2wd exway Atlas for 1200 euro about 1035 pounds after discounts.
The board is fully customisable meaning you can add biggest motors battery make it fast adjust the acceleration of your board the possibility’s are endless where as with exway you are stuck with the motor size power of the board etc and that’s it once you have outgrown that board and it becomes not enough power or range you will have to pay out another 1000 for a different board as our board you can literally change some setting and you have a board that feels completely different and gives you that same sensation as when you first brought the board also we are not using hobbywing esc this board is using a proper vesc that costs 4 times the amount of money a hobby wing esc would, we are using high quality parts to make this board what it is, hope this helps 👍🏼

I went to the website to purchase. Since I live in the US the conversion is 2,326.95 United States Dollar. That's much more than I paid for my evolve bamboo. I'm kinda salty bc I really wanted to get your 7' AT
how does it compare to the Eovan GTS ? they are also using a vesc and 12s3p battery , do you beat it on power and range ? if you converse pounds to US $ is it still a better value ? I know that Eovan include free shipping , can you compare them both on specs / value ? thanks man
We are using a different vesc than what they are using looks custom to them as a brand which means in terms of changing the remote if you wanted to I don’t think you can do that with there board also their information on the battery is incorrect they are using 12s 3p as they only have 3p and each cell is capable of outputting 10amps Max, so 30amps that’s the total power output of that board where as we are using 12s 4p and each cell can output 20amps so 4x 20 =80amps wich means our boards are way more powerful hope this helps 👍🏼
@@rickyeverett thanks man , iv look on internet and panasonic cell specs were 10 to 15 amp discharge rate , not as good as 20 do , I guess if someone want to crank it up at max power your board probably will win but range will be reduce a lot do .
You should do a review against that eovan board both set to max power from the vesc and would be nice to compare the riding and feeling of the deck , trucks and bushing . Just to prove that your board is the best value vs a board that is popular right now and that looks like yours quit a bit .
The fact that the eovan is cheaper and has 639wh (bigger battery ) could make it hard to compete to without a good real life comparison review: )

DIY is not new (the decks is used by many) but if you can make this live up to performance promised as well as support for this price it sounds interesting. Oh; Evolve is strong for two seconds and absolutely sucks on hills.
I agree evolve is sting front the start but bad uphills and yes this boards lives up to it’s performance 👌🏼

I change my mind, you do not have to quite doing reviews. Chris started off so well with his humble, detailed and methodical reviews. It got more and more into the strict has to be Evolve and HAS to be pneumatic AT wheels. For me I do not care what you can run over, AT wheels is no longer a longboard but that is only my opinion. You did a great job with the Exway Flex compared to the Boosted Stealth. I think you would do a great job comparing boards whilst still selling your own board. Cheers

The price sounds resonable. I assume you are not competing with Bioboards but Eovan and Boundmotor use adjustable VESCs. Eovan have many interesting wheels which I think would be cool if you also expanded into. All the best

Longboards are not meant to be ridden with bicycle wheels and if you slide one you slide all wheels. There are many smart DIY guys that do their best and I honestly wish you the best since you are clear of what type of board you want to ride and sell. Many good riders love cloud wheels, just saying...

I bought a cheap Chinese one off eBay to get me started (Microworks SK90, they did sell boards on Ali express) but mine has turned more into a diy one now anyway, as the original enclosure cracked and ESC packed in, probably due to water damage. I set about changing things and improving it, It’s now practically redesigned. I got 4 sturdy, sealed sandwich boxes (Systma ones, with quick release lids), three for the batteries and one for the ESC, I placed new threaded inserts in the deck, bolted the lids on, including rubber washers to seal the holes. I then dismantled the battery pack, leaving me with just the cells, I purchased some 18650 plastic cell holders then assembled and soldered them into three sections. Now I can quickly swap the cells out if needed to increase range or an enclosure, if one gets damaged + the deck has a little bit more flex now too, as it’s not one solid enclosure. I need to work on a fast charging solution, next.

Aesthetics aren’t not 100% complete yet we wanted to launch and see what people thoughts where on the board and if this would be something that people would be interested in 👍🏼

Yes in the future, the cost of creating a carbon fibre deck is crazy expensive, so will see how it goes this first year of trading and if all goes well there will be a carbon version 👍🏼

Everything was covered in this video. Perhaps watch the whole video ? What makes the board different is the parts. Motors, VESC based ESC, a proper battery. If you don’t see the value in those quality components, not sure what else we can say to help you understand.

Review the atlas. Compare to an evolve, for bench mark. Ricky's board is the new bench mark. Side remark on the new bench mark. Sounds better than evolve on paper. Just not as good as Ricky's. (Maybe, need it reviewed. lol)
Board looks good, would you consider direct drive? Like moon drive? Would love to see a board with no belts
Glad there’s someone else that wants a DD version! Belt drives are just not subtle enough where I live and it’s a £500 fine and the board gets confiscated so DD/Hubs are the only option

checked out the website. no information about flex? range with 7 inches is 30km which is same as most other boards for this price even cheaper. If there is no flex then i dont know why? you guys always say how much you like flexible board...
All that information is on the website. We do our best to explain spec vs reality on so many of our videos. Our board is priced according to the parts. No board at this price point is using the motors, battery or ESC that is on the same level of performance as ours. Watch all the videos about the M5 to try and understand what we are doing. If you don’t get it, no worries and we hope you a board you like 👊

Hey dude thanks for the feedback 👍🏼 it’s our first gen board and I would rather it looked simple and generic and perform well than it too look all pretty and underperform in terms or riding speed acceleration etc looks can be changed quit easily where as if you get another board and it doesn’t perform the way you wanted there isn’t anything you can do about it apart from get another board, this board is built for performance first, and I believe it will beat anything in its price range that’s on the market atm

@@zpepe yeah I really like the guys at propulsion boards great dude both board are basically on par with each other it all comes down to how they have been setup in the vesc tools when they ship we might set ours more powerfully out the box than they do etc I think it will come down to price and what board you like the look of the most hope this helps 👍🏼
