Great video Dryrobe & RNLI. It’s great to see more and more of this content coming out!
As an experienced open water swimmer that swims year round and as a Coach I think it’s really important that content like this is put out there.
I plan on creating a series in the near future to help others stay safe.
    Great job guys 👏🏼

      Hey Chris,
Thank you so much for your feedback regarding our content with the RNLI.
We couldn’t agree more about the importance of sharing water safety content to help people enjoy open water swimming safely.
Your future series sounds epic, we will be sure to keep an eye out for it! Please keep us posted! 🫶

      Hey @@Dryrobe 👋🏼
      My pleasure, I mean it.
Aw 100%, I think it’s incredibly important and tbh I think more needs to be done in regards to educating people about the importance or both the damages & training for the environment you’re placing yourself in. Both physically & mentally! Over the years I’ve worked with so many different types of people and they tend to focus on the physicalities of what they’re planning to undertake and they forget about the mental aspects of the goal. Which is why so many pool swimmers & triathletes struggle in open water, especially in sea environments.
Every year I create a challenge to help stretch my comfort zone & develop myself a little more & at the same time I use the challenge to raise some money for a charity. This year I completed all of the Ironman races in the UK & Ireland, all whilst wearing a 10kg weighted vest and carrying the charities flag (a mental health charity called Rock 2 Recovery UK). You actually donated a Dryrobe for a charity raffle I was doing, so thank you again! 🙏🏼
This year (2024) I’m going to be completing my first ever “Continuous Triple” with Brutal Events. It’s a continuous triple distance Ironman triathlon, consisting of a 7.2 mile swim, 336 mile bike & a 78 mile run, covering 19,622ft of elevation ⛰️
This years charity is going to be the RNLI because of all of these reasons 🛟
So fingers crossed it can help a lot of people 🤞🏼💙

      Hey Chris @RecoveryLabTV ,
Thanks so much for your message. It’s so interesting to hear about your experience training open water swimmers and the mental prep required to help swimmers and triathletes who swap the pool for natural blue spaces.
It’s incredible to hear about the challenges you set yourself - massive congratulations on completing all of the Ironman races in the UK & Ireland,( while wearing a 10kg weighted vest and carrying a flag?!). Such an amazing achievement.
We love keeping up to date with your challenges. Well done on setting yourself the next challenge to complete your first ever “Continuous Triple” with Brutal Events for the RNLI. Please drop us a DM on Insta if we can help again in any way 🫶

      Hey @@Dryrobe,
It's amazing to see so many more people getting outdoors in both blue and green spaces. I think it's so important for both physical & mental health.
Thank you so much, it was an incredible experience, and great to visit so many new places. It was my first time over Ireland, lovely people in Youghal, Cork. Everyone was so friendly.
Thank you so so much for your incredibly kind offer to help, I will definitely be in touch! My plan is to organise a number of events next year, with the Continuous Triple being the biggest. The other events are: 7 x Ironman 70.3 Triathlon's in 7 days, Back to back Ironman over 2 days, a 6hr, 12hr & 24hr sea swim. I would love to arrange as many community events as possbile, helping others become more active.
Plus like I previously mentioned I plan on making a load of free resources for my UA-cam channel to help others, similar to yourselves. Would be more than happy to help Dryrobe if you ever need Coaches / people. Always happy to return the kindness!
Hope you're having a lovely day.
