A lot of the time for this challenge it’s the moms setting up and organizing the prank. The kids aren’t just testing out their parents and saying that to their mom, the mom TOLD the kid to scream ‘shut up’ at them, so the moms could film the dad’s reaction. It’s still a stupid prank, but the moms are the masterminds behind them.
Yes, this is obviously what happened otherwise why would the mom be recording? They usually do it with the kid in another room, which is probably for the best honestly because some of there were in physical danger. I don't think it's okay to pull this prank. Those poor kids. Can you imagine how scary that would be? That little girl bursting into tears breaks my heart. Her mother owes her an apology.
Yes, like with my family. When I was a child we could not curse, but as I got older and into a teenager, often times my family would curse around each other and not receive punishment so long as it wasn't used in a disrespectful manner. For example, my one friend said it was weird that my family curses at each other, but in the context we use it, it is just like daily language. Now when I tell my mom ina fight "shut the f up you stupid b" she'd beat my ass but when we are joking "shut the f up" isn't seen as disrespectful. It all depends on the family dynamic and what is acceptable. Of course, I still don't curse around my grandmother and to strangers but in a joking manner with my family or just speaking in general, yes.
I was allowed to swear as a teenager within reason, but never at someone. If someone had ran me over or something was ok. Even in my family now we don’t swear around children or swear at children that’s something that makes my blood boil! 😤 The children I taught thought I never swore, even at home. If a child was overheard swearing, re telling a story after asking permission to say the swear word, we’d all rub our eats to wash away the dirty word. Recently one of the children was with a less ‘bothered’ family home with her friend. She’s 9, the friend’s mum swore at her!!! She was appalled & came home. She also told the mum it was disgusting to use those words. Rightly so! Another child was at a football club for children and one of the coaches swore at one of our children, we gasped at stared at the coach. He said ‘well everyone swears at their kids especially when they’re angry’ not in our family we don’t!
lmao my mom and i tried this with my dad once but i never misbehaved so he thought something was really wrong and was really worried and it ruined the whole prank lmao
Believe it or not it does happen my husband stands up for me when it comes to his mom. Which I always thought didn't happen he's not disrespectful, But he knows when to tell her off.
I agree with Kangyoo on this. Even if it was a prank, I would still not be very happy if my child said this to their mother for entertainment. I would not hit the child but definitely make them aware of unintentional consequences. Another great vid
@@key1853 can you elaborate further? What does the mother recording have to do with anything that I said? I'm genuinely curious on your train of thought that led you to your response.
The children's mother is the one doing the prank on the father. They have permitted their children to say, " Shut Up," to film the video. The children are only doing what they have been asked to do by their mothers.
MANY families in the US have respect as one of the most important things taught, so that is why the fathers react in such a way. Discipline for such disrespect is more common than people realize. I know that I would not get off without a tongue lashing at least if I did such a thing, but it's such a strange thing to me that I would never even dream of saying that to my mother or father. I am definitely not a fan of the prank, but I understand why, but that does not excuse the rudeness of it.
Asian and black parents does have a lot of similarities when raising a kid. When we’re still living in the US when i was a kid most of our neighbours are black and lot of friends there get discipline by their parents the way my parents do.
Cuban and Spanish as well. No ideal threats made as I saw exactly what happened to my cousin's. In my family if you messed up a name was mentioned "You wanna be like your cousin*insert name*?!"
I feel like discipline in ethnic minorities of any sort here in the US tend 6:24 to have a lot of similarities. Even some white families that still hold on to a lot of their cultures before immigrating here do too. My family was raised with a lot of German traditions, and boy, if I did that to my mom, my dad would have that damn wooden spoon out so fast that you wouldn't even have time to think bout running. Hell my siblings would even say 'What the hell you say to Mom?'
There was a study where dads and moms had to choose between a child and spouse: Who lives and who dies. Tragic either way. Dads chose wife to live. Wives chose children to live. This was cross-cultural.
This scared me more than any horror movie. Dad is a force not to be messed with. Especially when he is standing up for mom. I unfortunately did this and it wasn’t a prank. It didn’t end well.
I think it’s universal “you will die” if you tell your mom to shut up. Lol I was 16 when I told my mom to shut up and she hit me in the mouth with a shoe. I told her I should call the police and she called the police on me 😂. Police said next time don’t tell your mom to shut up. Lesson learned. My mom is Korean btw. There was no time between me saying shut up and the shoe hitting me in the mouth 😂
Sanghak is so worried about offending Gangyoo that it is funny. He has an uneasy and fidgety vibe while Gangyoo is so stoic befitting a man who walked through a land filled with mines and not knowing where they are. ( Still can't wrap my brains around that )😓😱😅
Dads, please. I grew up with a single mom and if I told her to shup up, I would have woke up a week later wondering what my name is. No Joke. We had an agreement once and she yeeted my bed across the room to get to me.
looool im 40 yo, no dad since i was 2yo. im STILL scared to death of telling my mother to "shut up" she is 76yo and would come up out her recliner and snatch the soul right out of my body before the word shut left my mouth.
I thought this challenge was not safe at all. Also, it felt like testing a man, which I’m not a fan of. Last, this would NEVER work in my family. If I told my mom to “shut up” she would teleport to me and be in my face about my behavior. My dad would be hearing the words at the times mother was correcting my behavior.
@@Br0nto5aurus ... honestly, I was thinking more of people having fights about it, like the comment about the mother almost divorcing her husband (the step dad) when he did nothing. I would think families with rampant abuse would be horrified of this challenge and not do it at all. But then, stupid games stupid prizes. I just know my father would never have fallen for it because my mother was the major disciplinarian and we would never tell either of them to “shut up.”
Respect is a powerful thing. "Usually" taught to children by their parents at an early age. To respect everyone. So when a child disrespects a parent, someone they love, it is a major shock to see. However, most of these tictoks are rehearsed and acted out. Not real reactions.
The famous quote "It's just a prank, bro!" came from a youtuber who would slap girls' butts in public and caught it on camera to record their reactions. Turns out, what he did is actually illegal and will get you beat up. This prank can also get someone beat up, simply in the name of a prank. It's not a good idea to do in a household with a father with a temper and a history of harsh discipline.
Its hilarious to me that the dude on the right is is calm, quiet type but when asked how he would react to his child telling his wife to shut up hes straight up like " i will absolutely kick their ass :) "
I totally agree with you guys at the end that I don't find those pranks funny because while some dads are just like shocked or yell the ones who are legit about to physical violence on the kids speaks volumes on how messed up it is. It mades me very sad as an American because even though yes the MOM is in on it, it exposes some of these dads are possible abusers who would take it too far. Yes, stand up for moms against brat kids. But violence isn't the way.
"Spare the rod, spoil the child" is a thing for a reason. Physical discipline isn't violence, it's sometimes the only discipline that's appropriate to correct the child's misbehavior.
As someone who was raised getting the belt and getting smacked, I only agree with it because my parents made sure I knew why I was getting punished. Senseless violence backfires
If this was my kid and he or she told me to shut up there wouldn't be time for the Dad to do anything I would be on them faster then they could blink. Love you guys stay happy and healthy 😊❤️
6:50 in the US it's very touch and go with step children, there are parents out there who regard their children and their significant other as separate if they're not the biological parent and it quickly becomes a "you don't punish my kid" situation so some step parents will leave the discipline up to the biological parent.
I grew up in a somewhat unique environment where talking back to my parents was not punished. I could definitely see myself getting away with something like this when I was young.
I would be running for my life not from my grandfather but my grandma. She takes no shit from anyone. I still remember when she chased me through the kitchen with a wooden spoon and whooped me five minutes before school because I couldn't remember if she asked if I had homework. I didn't get diagnosed with ADHD until high school 🥲
I'm a Southerner in the US and was raised better than to ever even consider saying this to my Mother. I would be dead if I did it too. If not by her hand, then my ancestors would come up out of the grave and get me.

I don't like this type of prank! It makes me sick In my soul to see father's trying to hit their children instead of talking and explaining why it's not OK to say a thing like that. To hit a child is a big trust breaker! That child will never fully trust that parent again ever! I'm glad I live in Sweden there is illegal to hit a child, you go to jail for that here. We had this law since 1979!
Thank God someone with brains in the comments! It seriously disgusts me how many people think this is not abuse. Screaming at your child, threatening them or hurting them in any way are actions of utterly despicable parents that shouldn't have kids. I've literally got PTSD from shit like this and flinch every time someone just raises their arm meters away from me or someone gets to close to my face with their hand and I get panic attacks when someone gets loud...and people think this is funny
Lol I’ve done it for real, many times. My mother hates me, always preferred my brother even after my father threw my brother out for sexually assaulting me. My moms solution? Nightly the small window I’m in the same room as her (just one hour for dinner) she begins to attack me verbally, either directly or anytime I speak she begins to talk over me to my mom and have a conversation with only him so I’m left alone or she will in the middle of me talking say “what does that have to do with anything”. My dad spends so much time trying to maintain a peace that he wasn’t noticing all the attacks she did until I told him straight out the damage he was doing to me and how many days I hoped to simply not wake up. He’s now trying to do better and he’s noticed she’s doing it but he still doesn’t do anything and just assumes cause I’m “fine” that it can all be ignored. So yes I tell her to shut up frequently
Mom (and dad) would’ve kicked my ass and I probably wouldn’t have been alive to type this right now if I EVER did that. Even now as an adult 🤣🤣🤣. Even if it’s in a joking way you have to choose your moment WISELY haha
I'm a full grown adult with kids of my own and to this very day I would not dare tell my mama to shut up. Not even as a prank. She'd drive clear across town to factory-reset my attitude with a single slap. My husband and I don't hit our kids, but my daughter told me to shut up once and I think it's about the closest my husband's ever come to wanting to. She changed her attitude real quick when she saw the look on his face.
I don't like that, because it's not okay to punish your child with violence. I personally think that parents who slap their child aren't good parents. I'm glad I'm German and it's illegal to slap your child 😐
How are children disciplined in Germany then? Timeout? Grounding? Neither of those have been working in the US as far as I can tell. I think a spanking is necessary for all young children to learn. I said "spanking" not "beating".
As someone who grew up in the south and even got in trouble for just saying "yes" instead of "yes ma'am" I'd be a ghost before I even finished telling my mother to shut up
Its really worrying how violent these parents are getting....thats not ok it will just have a negative effect on the child and it is proven that spanking a kid just makes them act out more. And that parent that went after his daughter with the chair was not ok! CPS needs to look into a lot of these.
If this happened in a southern family they would be dead before they could finish that sentence and at moms hand. Quote from a southern mother "I brought you into this world and Ill take you out."
LOL that's what my mother used to say. My mom is very understanding and usually does not get upset but when we are blatantly disrespectful, she will say this as a last chance before we get whooped (that or she would get a leather belt and stand in front of us) She also used to say "see these fingers, see these thumbs, see this fist, you better run." I rarely got whooped as a kid (mainly just soap in the mouth when verbaly disrespectful with curse words or the leather belt in view) but my sister and I knew not to push farther.
3:58 the relief in that dad’s voice that he doesn’t have to murder that kid. It was like, thank God this is a prank because I was about to sacrifice you like Abraham did to Jacob.
Of course these reactions vary from household to household, though with children who have developmental disorders such as autism are punished a bit differently than a neurotypical child would. Since a normal punishment such as spanking or yelling because sometimes these outbursts of extreme emotion can be uncontrollable. Of course people with this disability deserve to know the constructs of social behavior and be punished, but punished in a way that works for them. Some punishments just...don't work and do more harm than good. Sadly autism goes under the radar in more mild cases and parents have no way of knowing what their child needs because it slips under the radar.
I tell my mom to shut up but it's mostly us just playing around. She never whooped me growing up but when her, my brother and I had to live with my aunt and uncle growing up, my uncle was abusive and would hit us for no reason when my mom was at work. We never said anything until we were older and we got our own house away from our aunt and uncle. But my mother never whooped us and I have nothing but respect for her. She honestly never harshly disciplined us at all. Whenever we did something bad she would just sit us down and explain what we did and why what we did was wrong. I'm 23 now, I joke around with her and tell her to shut up all the time. She also likes to incorporate herself into the stuff we like, like anime, certain music, movies, shows, etc. We also do the same with her hobbies. It really helps us bond and understand each other.
That guy on the left has such a natural Korean face, that’s handsome you see they have long small faces and sharp and they have long tall high noses and cute eyes
100% agree that this prank isn’t funny. Why provoke someone to anger? In my family, you wouldn’t have time to scream “it’s a prank” before you got the smack down. 😳
Im pretty sure telling my mom to relax when shes going off is as far as I can push it without being put 6 feet under and thats still pretty rude and she would definitely get more mad. My mom can be pretty chill but when shes mad shes a raging bull I cant imagine trying this even without my dad around 🤣
These pranks are organized by the mom! The prank always has the mom in on it, which is why it’s always the moms filming and telling the kid to do something.
The one where dad used all 3 names on the daughter… that summoned the butt cover reflex in me immediately. You know they mean business when they use the first, middle, and last name…
Tik Tok challenges that tell you to disrespect your mom, dad, or anyone are bad. And doing them tells the viewers that the challenge means more to them than their loved ones.
They'd do this as adults too- I told my mom "shut up" as a 30 yr old, & my dad ran at me trying to pull his belt out. I said "mind your own business" & he said "get out & never come back". Parents in the USA don't play, there is no disrespect tolerated and you will still get hit as an adult.
Honestly, my family is down to earth, but no matter what if we aren’t joking we’re looking at a smack from our father. My brother is 22 and I’m 21 and we’ve never said “shut up” to our mom because we know we’ll get smacked.
I don't think grown ups deserve respect just for being older. Respect is derserved, even when you are my superior, my mother, sister, friend or father !
I don't care for prank videos personally, most of them aren't just cranks they're just being rude and mean and there is too much of that going on to make fun of it

This would have gotten me beat. My family doesn't care about "challenges" or "trends". I once asked my mom what she needed my car for and my dad came home with papers from a lawyer saying he would sue me for abusing her. When I was 6, I said a rhyme without my dad's permission and he used my head to break the ceiling. When I was 7, my dad used physics to optimize a paddle to maximum pain and tissue damage. On my 35th birthday, my fiance's family and my family went to a dinner to meet for the first time. I told my parents that my fiance's mom offered to pay all my school if I went into nursing. They were ashamed and told me I'll never be anything but a fry cook. I was raised in Florida.

Shut up no it doesn’t. Only most white familes won’t do anything and duh go figure they think time out of the best option
Y’all do know this fake right???
lmao my mom and i tried this with my dad once but i never misbehaved so he thought something was really wrong and was really worried and it ruined the whole prank lmao

Now, to see if the husband will stand up to his mother for his wife. The ultimate grown up test. Hahahaha
Oh that would be so mean...
I think they just pass out.
Yep I've had this conversation it's basically once you have a SO she comes first then your mother
Another great vid
that’s great in all but you do realize it’s the MOTHER who put them up for this video , the mom is clearly recording
@@victoriachantelle9897 I understand. Thank you.
@@victoriachantelle9897 Thanks for explaining for me
MANY families in the US have respect as one of the most important things taught, so that is why the fathers react in such a way.
Theres a saying, "dont poke the bear", i think it applies here.
Also, "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes."
Asian and black parents does have a lot of similarities when raising a kid. When we’re still living in the US when i was a kid most of our neighbours are black and lot of friends there get discipline by their parents the way my parents do.
?
Mexican parents: 🗿
Cuban and Spanish as well.
No ideal threats made as I saw exactly what happened to my cousin's. In my family if you messed up a name was mentioned "You wanna be like your cousin*insert name*?!"
@@l33t007 I think all Latino people are like this
I feel like discipline in ethnic minorities of any sort here in the US tend 6:24 to have a lot of similarities.
I saw that before. I'd never want to make that choice
You know you been traumatized by your parents when seeing these kids do this gives you anxiety
I like this duo, you should definitely do a dad's being sweet video to balance things out 😂
putting the kid in the bin has my dead lmfao
This scared me more than any horror movie. Dad is a force not to be messed with. Especially when he is standing up for mom.
I unfortunately did this and it wasn’t a prank. It didn’t end well.
Oh my! I bet you got some whooping.
😂put some respek on ya mammys name
I think it’s universal “you will die” if you tell your mom to shut up. Lol I was 16 when I told my mom to shut up and she hit me in the mouth with a shoe. I told her I should call the police and she called the police on me 😂. Police said next time don’t tell your mom to shut up. Lesson learned. My mom is Korean btw. There was no time between me saying shut up and the shoe hitting me in the mouth 😂
The way he jumped over the rail🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was seriously looking for this comment 😂
Growing up in an old-school Mexican household, if I ever even tried to form the words shut up, I wouldn't survive finishing the up part of shut up.
Every last one of these kids are lucky the mom was in on it!!!! There would be no saving themselves 🤣
looool im 40 yo, no dad since i was 2yo. im STILL scared to death of telling my mother to "shut up" she is 76yo and would come up out her recliner and snatch the soul right out of my body before the word shut left my mouth.
I would love to see how Korean father would react to their children telling the mom to shut up
I thought this challenge was not safe at all. Also, it felt like testing a man, which I’m not a fan of. Last, this would NEVER work in my family. If I told my mom to “shut up” she would teleport to me and be in my face about my behavior. My dad would be hearing the words at the times mother was correcting my behavior.
If by "not safe" you mean "shows who abuses their kids right away" then yes.

Even as an adult I would never EVER say shut up to my parents !!
Ahhh Sanghak’s smile is sooo beautiful it makes me so happy to see💗
Dumb prank. That could go south real quick.
Facts, anything for likes these days.
@@1MarkKeller Ha! Listen to you stating facts! Anything for likes... these days.

Its hilarious to me that the dude on the right is is calm, quiet type but when asked how he would react to his child telling his wife to shut up hes straight up like " i will absolutely kick their ass :) "
Probably because this may seem normal to him and how his parents raised him. Lol
@@SleepyChihuahuaI completely agree with you.👍🏻
As someone who was raised getting the belt and getting smacked, I only agree with it because my parents made sure I knew why I was getting punished.
I only talk smack to my mom when there’s at least 1 state between us. Gives me time to go into witness protection.

The fact that the moms helped to coordinate this "prank" shows they are as immature as their kids.
This is not something to be proud of.
@@prnc96 all my love and peace to you from someone who cares ❤️
Their reactions to the videos cracked me up
THE MAN WHO PUT HIS CHILD IN THE TRASH CAN LMFAAOOOOOO
prank or no prank, I would still get a whooping
As someone who grew up in the south and even got in trouble for just saying "yes" instead of "yes ma'am" I'd be a ghost before I even finished telling my mother to shut up
5:47 When your dad is into parkour.😂
These challages scares me.
Kid: "Shut up!"
Dad: *Activate Search and Destroy Mode*
This is actually a culture shock for all Asians.
Did you see the smile on that face that father when his child said I'm watching TV shut up it was a grin that said oh I've been waiting for this day
100% agree that this prank isn’t funny.
It’s o funny to me because I grew up in a household where you tell your parent shut up, you signed your own death warrant 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

TikTok challenges are the stupidest thing.
