- Relive the superb premier class race from Laguna Seca in 2005, with the likes of Nicky Hayden & Colin Edwards gunning for glory on home soil, chased down by their European rivals such as Valentino Rossi, Max Biaggi and Sete Gibernau around the spectacular Californian track.

RIP Nicky Hayden. I’m blessed to have witnessed an American win the Championship after a long hiatus. 2005 & 2006 years were good.
I was there for that race, got 2 speeding tickets on my CBR600RR on the way home I was so happy. RIP #69. We miss him!
I was a cornerworker in the Corkscrew for that whole weekend and had an awesome view of Nicky's ride to victory in that race. He was in a class of his own during practice and qualifying as well, and I couldn't have been happier for him to get his first MotoGP win in his home country.

Is it true if you walk the track and try going up the corkscrew it's that steep you almost have to climb up on hands and knees?
It's such a sad thing Nicky Hayden passed far before he should have. Such an amazing talent and class act as a person in general. At least he showed the world what he was capable of and how to present oneself to others. RIP, Nicky, I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet you on more than one occasion 🖤

Yeah Nicky Hayden, the only rider became a champion by winning only 2 races in a season. He should be in the Guinness World Record Book.

Man, I miss the voice of Nick Harris. Nicky was flawless in this race, so sad to lose him (on a bicycle, fer christ sake). Ironic that for him, bicycling was more dangerous than MotoGP. Saw this one live. Brings back great memories.
Rip Nicky I certainly miss these eras of motogp with young vale too I've watched vale for as long as I can remember born in 96 and can remember from the 03 season onwards
I remember being in the turn 2 stands at Sears Point when he was in early AMA and being amazed at how precisely he was hitting the same turn in point again and again. I knew he was going to motogp.
Great day at the track ! I was there with a worker pass as fundraiser for my daughters pre-school.

the corkscrew, probably the most terrifying yet most incredible turn to watch in all of motorcycle racing.
To think that the great Wayne Rainey has a house on the top of the corkscrew, with primetime view of this wonder

I watched this race, an emotional race of friendship and respect shown by Rossi to the two hosts in this race Nicky Hayden & Colin Edward, the ability of Rossi motorbike at that time was very able to catch up to both of them, but the sense of friendship overcame everything. Rest in peace Nicky, your wheels will always spin on each track.

F1-Murray is gone replaced by the current twit, the SUV sized cars > 2020's, increased min. weight again for 2022 and they will never have a Simon Crafar to illuminate functional comprehension. MotoGp 1/16th the contact patch, 16 times the passing with far less (English) bias, distracting from the talents & efforts of the racers/entertainers.

Gone, - but never forgotten!
I followed him religiously, closer than any other rider. I just loved him as a person, and a competitor, a true class act. Witnessed in person many AMA race weekends, and both Laguna MotoGp victories! Was so lucky and honored to have met him and chatted 1 on 1 for 15 minutes at Sears Point Raceway.
R.I.P. Nicky.
Earl and Rose did a phenomenal job as parents to a great family. My heart breaks for them everytime I see the #69. His death crushed me; but his life gave me so much pure joy.

9:27 and 26:21, awesome passes by Colin. I read where he said he never showed this line all weekend because he knew none of the European guys would know about it or expect it and he used it brilliantly.
Good eye, he did in fact use the same line. The first time I thought he did it just to leap ahead of the group or was forced into it to avoid a crash. But then he used it again 1 on 1 with Rossi to get just in front before they dropped into the corkscrew.
