The latara tara part is inspired by the lullaby Pablo's (SB19 member,composer) mom sang to him when he was a kid.
And yes you're correct, MaPa is Mama and Papa and also our parents are like mapa (map), they serve as a guide so we won't get lost.
To add: it also sounds like a sea shanty (the jingles pirates used to sing over the ocean) hence why we see a paper boat in the video

Children tends to shorten it by just calling ma and pa . 2nd is they discribe their mom as their eyes which is mata in Filipino and dad is their feet which is paa (MAta and PAa) and the last mapa is the map that can represent ofw (overseas Filipino Workers) all over the globe, or the future travels of SB19 to represent our country with the assurance of returning home!

But as the song intensifies, the paper boat became a paper plane where it’s already moving fast, now ready to fly high and reach for their dreams.
Because of their map, the fruits of their learnings have now sprouted.
At the end, the paper plane went back to its paper boat state implying that no matter where we are now, we should not and will not forget where we came from. Our roots. Our parents.

Yes about Mama and Papa and kamusta. Some of the words in Filipino are borrowed from Spanish (we were colonized for 300 years) and eventually got various derivatives to make it our own. This is a whole lot of other topics, but you can also check on YT about the similarities in our language, we also have some parts in the Philippines where old Spanish creole is spoken as their native language.

What is common now is the adaptation of mommy and daddy from western countries. Meanwhile, Mama and Papa in Filipino accent is common and usually used to addressed our Filipino parents while the traditional nanay or inay and tatay or itay is stil used.
