Even standing still Doc is still in motion... moving his legs, arms, hands & head ever so subtly. He was a master showman & frontman. I saw him with TKA (my high school in 1975) & TA just so many times around Adelaide.
If The Angels were playing at the Bridgeway Hotel, Pooraka, you'd find me at the footlights. Such an amazing band to see on stage. You left an Angels gig bouncing off the walls. The rest of the world has no idea what they missed out on.
One of the many great things about Aussie rock, is that they all did their 'apprenticeships' in pubs and small venues, so they were ALL brilliant performers. Oils, Angels, Chisel, Aussie Crawl, AC/DC, all GREAT bands on record and even better live. THAT is music.
The Oils, Chisel & Angels were peerless as live acts in 79-80. If you were in the pubs & small halls then you'd know how dynamic all 3 were. Remember seeing The Angels on this 79 tour in Adelaide - was an aerobic workout being in the crowd. Thanks for the music guys
I saw strippers up the cross easily be their peers...just sayin Not the angels though..they be like a private room...with no exit..soz. I'm singin now. Go away!
@nagaslrac - in fact I first saw The Angels in 1975 as The Keystone Angels when they played a lunchtime concert at my high school (as part of Adelaide radio station 5KA's high school concert program). The Stars & Scandal also played similar lunchtime concerts at my high school in 1976 & 1977.
I was there with you front and centre at the Bridgeway. I was a bit obsessed for 30 odd years, followed them around Oz and OS. Got to know Doc well over the years, turns out he was a generous lovely bloke who never let me down. Universally loved, respected and admired by the best. The Angels should have been huge, but for some bad luck and questionable management decisions.
Ray Davies of the Kinks had a grudge against them and made sure they were " kept in their place!" Jealous toad- doc was do gifted it soured the old fart into a tantrum- typical aging rockstar spat the dummy! I'm almost glad only we love them cos fame can be so vicious!😊
I would of been there mate yes cloudland you couldn’t stand still even if you wanted that big old dance floor was pumping up and down … remember doc climbing on top of those speakers witch were also sitting on that on that floor think he was also surprised by how much those things were swaying … saw some awesome bands in that place the clash was maybe the loudest and second last to preform there the last was chisel … certainly miss driving past and not seeing that arch it was an amazing place …
Never heard of these guys. But I am from Jersey and they have a sound like we had in the 80’s here at the Jersey shore and Philly area. I friggin love it
Stage presence...the name is Doc Neeson, just a livewire performer. Lucky enough to see them with Rose Tattoo in one hell of a night in Fremantle in 1995. Great bands who started in Aussie pubs, a great era. The Angels, Rose Tattoo, AC/DC, Skyhooks, Midnight Oil etc...
Я родился в 1967 году. Я слушал эти песни в 1980-1983 годах . Мой старший брат их включал на мангитофоне. Мне они очень нравились. Несколько моих любимых песен я так и не нашел в интернете.
Lived in Taree.. nsw..every aussie band called through our relationship every second weekend in the 80s..the angels brought the biggest crowds..then come and at the nightclub after there gig..those were the days
I first saw The Angels live at the Hordern Pavilion playing support for Meat Loaf in 1978. Meat was hopeless - they blew him off the stage. Love this Narara Live set.
@petermctaggart6368 That doesn’t surprise me, I’ve read of several reports of Australian rock bands embarrassing the American acts they were supporting. In 1987, I saw Bon Jovi here in Sydney, and they were blown off stage by the Choirboys, just over a year later I saw Gun N Roses, and their support act The Angels completely blew Guns N Roses off stage. In 1979, AC/DC blew off Aerosmith.
@@menasswholeasswholeneye a political hack who oversaw the deaths of 4 young Aussie teenagers and men installing pink batts under the disastrous meglomaniac Rudd. PG NEVER apologised. A POS. Live yes amazing but 'Doc' had rock star cool, PG was just a spastic on stage.
I like 👍 the group when they were called Angel City. I have all the groups albums in vinyl under Angel City, before they change their names to the Angels. Still like the group music today 2022
This band the ANGELS, LIFE CHANGING SOUND, MY FAVORITE BAND ALONG WITH DEF LEPPARD, DOKKEN, RATT, A TRUE WINNER!!!!!!!!! REST IN PEACE DOC NEESON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!+!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I didn't need drugs or booze. Just a thousand decibels for 2 hours. I was there.
No kidding
Your spot on I seen them 7 times in different states along with chisel
Amen
I was there, many times 😁
I was there that evening...at the LaTrobe University...and was fortunate to see The Angels many times....an era NOT to be forgotten...
It guts me that he's gone

I once saw the Angels at Cloudland Ballroom in 1980. Mass hysteria unleashed. They were the best live act in Australia for many years
Myothe
I saw them at Festival Hall in either 1979 or 1980 with my brother. Wow, what a first concert.

Aussie pub rock, nothing but driving energy from the Angel's that lifted your spirits every time

Very underrated bass player Chris Bailey ...what a great player he was. I met Chris once in Manly and very humble guy.
Seen angels at sweethearts cabraamatta in 87 when I was 17 fucking awesome
"No Exit" LP 40 years ago (25 June). Unbelievable LP. Amazing footage from LaTrobe Uni. I saw them several times in '79 - they were on fire!
These guys were a great pub band. So many great memories from my teens.
Best live performance saw them 3 time at the Tivoli hotel Sydney and Narrara was a young man of 17
The greatest bar none.doc was the ultimate front man😎🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What I loved about them was their overall tone! Listen this is LIVE sounds as great as studio!

Loved them here in the U.S.A.
Saw the band live at a gig somewhere on the central coast of new south wales in '81 or'82 the energy in that room that day still amazes me.
theres no escape from their brilliance

What a great band. Saw them many times in Geelong in my 20s. Absolutely fucking fantastic.
The Angels..No Bullshit pub rock in all its powerful glory
I also saw them at Bombay downstairs when they were the Keystone Angels!

Upstairs at the Sea view Ballroom St Kilda. Pure Rock n Roll
Saw them at Maroubra Seals upstairs in '86. reckon the concrete floor has about 2 inches give in it. Awesome!
