@from the USA 🇺🇸 ♥️ ❤️ 😎 I have not been able to get the chance to see them perform. But I still have their albums to this day year 4/10/2024 Donald A Johnson ❤
sad that we get old and pass... can only be grateful that somehow we got lucky and lived our youth in the music era of The Angels... seeing Doc and the guys rock the stage from pubs n rsl's to Myer Music Bowl was really something memorable... 2 other Aussie bands that rate at the top are AC/DC (obviously) and Cold Chisel.
I used to see them regularly in Australia . The Angels, Midnight Oil, Australian Crawl, Cold Chisel Rose Tattoo INXS, the Divinyls , Dragon were all great
How many people from over seas are thinking " Who is this Aussie Band'? This was filmed 10 minutes from my house, but I was only 7. Absolutely original rock n roll !!!!
Avec Hoodoo Gurus Angel City sont mes groupes qui m'ont donné des sacrés frissons en 78..j'avais 18 ans et maintenant je les aime toujours encore et encore. Greetings from Geneva Switzerland 👍🏼
"Starting out it sounds like AC/DC but when the vocals begin you know it ain't AC/DC its the Angel's and over here they were known as Angel City."-🌐🌍🌎🌏🌐..
So happy to see them on youtube ! Thanks so much ! I'm 57 and was a big big fan in France, and unfortunately almost the only one ? . Got the vinyls (worn out) from that time. Awsome !
I was there at Bundoora that night my first concert at 17 with “mental as anything “supporting wow what a night!! This was an encore as doc changed into the high vis overalls ,his energy had no bounds Was easily my favourite live band until I moved on to other great ones Definitely can’t shake them off after 43 years.
I remember being allowed to stay up way past my bedtime to watch this on Lee Simon's Nightmoves. The Angels here are in peak form; great songs, great performances, great line-up. I played No Exit and Face to Face to death at the time but was way too young to see them live. I did get to see this line-up perform sometime in the late naughties (I'm losing track) when they reformed for Face to Face anniversary shows. Doc was in poor health, and still getting screwed over by those brothers, but gave it all he had anyway.
I was 14 and in front of the right speaker bank. Ears rang for 3 days afterwards. Other acts on the bill were Mental As Anything and Jo Jo Zep & the Falcons. Great night.!
Haha. I did the same at a Rose Tattoo gig. Right in front of the left stack. Even put my head "in" it. My ears ring permanently from all the gigs I saw back then. And it was worth it!!!
I was also at that concert. I was 17. Told the roady’s we followed them from Sydney, so they let us in for free. Even though we were actually from Melbourne.😃
@@someonesomewhere1600 Rose Tattoo were the loudest band I ever saw. You had to pass the HUGE speaker stack to go to the can, and despite being quieter in there you still had to yell to talk to someone.
Aus rock at its best. Good memories of seeing them on the same bill as The Radiators, NZ Pop, Jimmy and the Boys and a few others I can't remember at the Hordern Pavilion. What a day. Us very young fools even managed to buy some pot that turned out to be parsley:)
I still remember him hanging off the rafter at Mooloolaba Pub used to be called Thommos, and squueezing his scarf out all over us, and we absolutely loved it...
I think my friends and I went to this gig. I remember going to a completely packed venue somewhere in Melbourne where you basically had to stand in one spot all night unable to move. Was a great night.
Saw the Angels and Rose tattoo through an oscillating vent on the roof of parra nick as an apprentice roof slater aged 15 .Couldnt befriggenlieve it.Made a day of it and went hung out at the Red Light tattoo studio up the cross that evening.61 now and still cant believe my luck.Believe it or not.Youre call.
Gr8 Stuff Guys and Buzz's Drumming is AMAZING. Very Underrated was Buzz, with a Phil Rudd of AC/DC's Metronome Like Beat, but because he was a Left-Handed Drummer, Completely Different Chops Over the Top of the Beat. Terrific to Listen to, I reckon.
Buzz Bidstrup isn't under rated, he is a brilliant Drummer, saw him with The Angels in the late 70's and early 80's, then I saw him in Gangajang with Chris Bailey on Bass. Had a bit of a chat with Buzz at Revesby Workers one night at a Gangajang gig. Cool guy, decent and polite.
Reebok run ..just like www junk yard dog and Andre the Giant...tag teamin...gets out of the full Nelson Mandela dash britney .tags in the giant..off the ropes on the outside track. .a..then a suplex.....oh no...aaaannnnddd SMACK..!!! 1 2 free and I'm out! 💎
I was lucky enough as a sixteen year old roofing apprentice to watch themselves AND Rose Tattoo through an oscillating vent on the roof of Parramatta nick rec hall roof.
IN THE SEVENTYS I WAS DOING QUALITY TIME IN THE CIRCLE WHILST BILLY AND JOHNNY WERE THERE AS WELL AS G.KAYLE NAT JAS AND THE MAORI FAMILY LITTLE MIKE K. FUCK IT WAS THE BEST TIME IN HISTORY WITH THE ANGELS BEING THEIR MOST PROMINANT SELFS!!!! NOW ME BEING 66YO AND WILLINGLY UNDER THE MARK OF THE BEAST, YEAH HAHAHA!!!
I love Chuck Berry ,dont get me wrong .Im a lifelong Stones fan too.But i would like to have seen wrap his gibson around ole mates head for that one.Onya Keefe.Btw.Miss ya charlie.RIP BLOKE.
That's what I been lookin for...he's not singin bout injection of heroin is he ...from opium in Morocco to doin the deed wif a chick in a hotel by night ...everyone likes gamblin with the race track right!🤸
Best ever entrance in Rock n roll history! He was feeling in his veins all the rock n roll power Gods...EPIC!

THE ANGELS, ROSE TATTOO AND AC/DC. PRETTY FREAKING AWESOME COMPANY, FROM DOWN UNDER.

They reformed. Doc passed away brain cancer. Lead singer of the screaming jets now fronts them.
I was there at Bundoora that night my first concert at 17 with “mental as anything “supporting wow what a night!!

Angels, Festival Hall Melbourne sometime in the 80's. What a haze!
Lots of pubs. Awesome.

Got to see them at the Paramount Theater in Seattle with Missing Persons, wonderful show 🎸🎙️🎶🎵🎼🔈🔉🔊
Missing Persons had some Chart success here in Australia, cool Band.
" Words " went Top 10 & " Destination Unknown " made the Top 50 from memory.
Blew my ears out and me away late one freezing Friday night at the Donny Inn when I was way too young to have gone in 😍
Great pub....👍🥳🍺🙂🥊😅
wish I could have gotten to see them live back then
EPIC
Saw them at The Cleveland Agora! Great time, great band!
Remember seeing them at Newcastle Barbed wire ball show, Angel's, screaming Jets the Poor what a night 🌙
I still remember him hanging off the rafter at Mooloolaba Pub used to be called Thommos, and squueezing his scarf out all over us, and we absolutely loved it...

If the Rolling Stones put this out. It would have been a hit...

Saw them 2 or 3 times. No better live.
How cool is the chic in the beginning pumping away. Ra ra
Pretty sure none of us are headed for heaven. Gonna be one hell of a band.
I think my friends and I went to this gig. I remember going to a completely packed venue somewhere in Melbourne where you basically had to stand in one spot all night unable to move. Was a great night.
The best rock happened then not now.

I love the way he slams that left stick down on the snare drum. 🎉
Mick Jagger's got nothin compared to Doc.
Doc Nesson was one of the best ever frontmen. Maybe Noddy and Bon ahead of him, but he'd be okay with that.
I won't let you forget frontwoman Christine Amphlett... unforgettable early years.
Yeah bitchin. Always did like this band. Totally getting it on. Niiiiccceee

As good a band and probably more inventive than AC/DC, in my opinion
They should do a show at latrobe again same set
The Doc was on that night....RIP
