    • @johnnycactus0
      @johnnycactus0  5 років тому

      cheers buddy! yeah they are huge- you can get any size you want -i tend to have a 6/7" plate as it's smaller but usually avoids attracting the cops and have a 'legal' size for our mot testing

    hi i have a standard speedmaster. and im interested in getting a fatter front wheel. does it go without changes on or do i habe to widen the front mudguard?

    • @johnnycactus0
      @johnnycactus0  7 років тому +1

      hi mate- you should be fine going up to around a 130- the america has loads of space either side of the mudguard. i believe the speedmaster is the same??? i'd just measure the space between the stock tyre and the first thing it would hit- mounting bolt/mudguard and that gives you an idea of what room you have to play with!

    • @oddis188
      @oddis188 7 років тому

      my current tire is 110/80/18 so you mean 130/80/18 would go?

    • @johnnycactus0
      @johnnycactus0  7 років тому

      a 130 fitted on my america- but double check on your speedy- from pictures the front mudguard seems closer to the tyre on the speedy- but apart from that it should fit no problem!

  • @daz0705
    @daz0705 7 років тому +1

    Are you going to leave that space where your relays are mate ? or thinking of making some sort of dummy oil tank or something?, i love it, looks minimalistic but stylish and comfortable at the same time. So back on 2 wheels eh and in perfect timing, we've had some nice weather up here in the midlands, i hope you have had some yourself bud. I have literally just dropped my bike about 30 min ago, wheeled it into the shed to lock her up and the side stand somehow managed to flick back up as i was tipping her over, cause iv'e gone and done my back in again i couldn't take the weight on one leg properly so had to let her go, no damage done i did manage to kind of slow the fall, so just had to use a jack and rope slung over a cross beam to get her up again, had no room because of where she fell. shouldnt really be riding it with my back like this really but cant help it, lol

    • @johnnycactus0
      @johnnycactus0  7 років тому +1

      oh man!!! sorry to hear that mate!! hope the damage was minimal...we've all been there!!!- had a few days of nice weather but the bike has had a beating last few weeks!! lots of rain and shitty dirty roads!! took some elbow grease to clean her up!- i think i'll leave the open space- i quite like the 'raw' look!

  • @scottmaxwell6947
    @scottmaxwell6947 7 років тому +1

    hey Johnny bikes looking sweet mate and sounds awesome!
    just a quick question on the paint, I've used the Simoniz Satin black tough paint on my bike but I've noticed that it marks quite easily and there's small grey scratches appearing on it, have you experienced this on yours and what do you clean/Polish it with?
    cheers buddy!

    • @johnnycactus0
      @johnnycactus0  7 років тому +1

      hey buddy!- i've never had an issue with it marking or scratching- is it fully cured?- in terms of cleaning just soapy water and a rub over with a cloth and wd40! nothing fancy!

    • @scottmaxwell6947
      @scottmaxwell6947 7 років тому

      johnnycactus0 how long does it take to cure??

    • @johnnycactus0
      @johnnycactus0  7 років тому +1

      Depending on the thickness applied and amount of layers it can be a week to fully go off. I tend to use a heat gun between coats.

    • @scottmaxwell6947
      @scottmaxwell6947 7 років тому

      johnnycactus0 ah, cheers bud, I only left the tank about 2-3 days as it said 24hrs on the can, school boy error! we live and learn, keep up the good work on the vids mate you do a grand job!

    • @johnnycactus0
      @johnnycactus0  7 років тому +1

      Yeah I would say safe to handle after 24 hrs but abuse proof after a week!!! The bonnie tank gets petrol slopped on it knee rub and it's still going strong!

  • @solo_dingo
    @solo_dingo 7 років тому +1

    How does it handle with the beefy front tyre?

    • @johnnycactus0
      @johnnycactus0  7 років тому

      handles fine mate- with the forward controls and biltwell bars as well you'll never think your on an r1 ha ha- but it's certainly not an issue to ride!

    • @solo_dingo
      @solo_dingo 7 років тому +1

      Just wondered if it tips over a bit slower or faster though I guess that would depend on the profile of the tyre. Cheers.
      looks great. I watched some of your vids a couple of years ago and bought one similar to play with as well. Was a good project.

    nice looker but do you not find the titchy front gaurd gets the front of the engine and frame covered in crap on a wet rainy day? and the side mount number plate must make it a bit tricky in traffic no?

    • @johnnycactus0
      @johnnycactus0  4 роки тому

      ahh it's not too bad!!!- if you see the later videos I've been riding for 3 winters without a mudguard!!! ha ha- remade a small one and it's fine!!! side mount doesn't stick out any further than the bars so no probs with filtering.....now the struts...they make your teeth rattle!!!!

    Can I get my t120 black sound like that what I have too do

    • @johnnycactus0
      @johnnycactus0  6 років тому

      hi mate- sadly you won't be able to get your t120 to sound quite like that. the america/speedmaster/scrambler have a 270 firing order which give it a lazy off beat engine sound. all other bonnevilles have a 360 firing which give it a tighter focused note. however with after market exhausts and a remap you may be able to achieve a sound more like my other bonneville with a 360 at the end of this video- ua-cam.com/video/WFw-ooxzTyg/v-deo.html
