I can't wait for the part at the end where it's revealed that Sunkist, being unable to die, has assumed the role of a sort of diety that, through alien technology, has created its own heaven for the souls of dogs. Sunkist comes across Gordon's body, and recognizing him, takes his soul to heaven as well so that when Tommy's time comes, he will have someone to talk to.

I do find it interesting that Coomer has definitely developed more of a voice and sounds less AI-like (at least in dictation and grammar, although Id expect his voice quality to still be as HL1-era grainy as ever).
But yeah his playermodel staying the exact same is perfect.
I think it’s because he is the only one to gain true self awareness other than Benry possibly.

Like a lot of other people have said, the transition with the Strider was spectacular. I like how despite this being a comedy series, the Combine are still given great respect, still having the intimidating and oppressive feel and theming as in the actual game. Almost making it seem like the Combine truly are an unfathomably powerful and unstoppable multiversal force, capable of crushing all within their path, and even goofy cartoon universes like that of HLVRAI cannot resist this inevitable assimilation...

It was frustrating early on seeing people get mad at the stream, though by the end there were all the people genuinely getting in to it with the final Blue Blast, and getting this trailer right at the end was just the icing on the cake.

With Holly's voice training, it actually sounds close to Isaac Kleiner's voice.
Well in half life 1 all the scientists shared an actor and then in half life 3 reprised his role as kleiner so I'm assuming it's actually just the half life 1 peeps
As someone who has been trying to play through HL2 for nearly a decade now and has never gotten past chapter 8 (because I have a 3 second attention span lmao), I cannot wait to finally experience the game the way it was meant to be played
This was so fucking hype honestly. The "as this world spins on, it grows restless" transition was CRAZYY like actual goosebumps
The last thing I ever expected was for Mr. Coolatta to pass the torch (or, more fittingly, the briefcase) to Tommy. 2024/5 is going to be fucking crazy.

I like seeing Gman passing his work and honor down to his son Tommy. Very nice, I can't wait to see how he grew up over the years of Gordon being gone. Also, if Bubby is Kleiner in this series, that means the only one who has no evolved over the years is Coomer, which tbh really hits his character. Very nice attention to detail. I can't wait to see it whenever it comes out 🙂

i love how we see Gman passing the briefcase to Tommy. i can just imagine a dynamic where Tommy attempts to be "Gman like" around his friends and every now and again Gman will show up to help with something Tommy is struggling with doing. like for example: Tommy is having trouble stopping time so Gman shows up and goes through the steps on how to do it.
i haven't been this hyped for something since the Dr. Coomer boss fight scene.

Okay so here are my theories for the characters:
Alyx, Father Grigori, Mossman, etc, remain in game, with of course them being controlled by actors as "ai"
Tommy is the new Gman, as many have already said beforehand.
Coomer will accompany Gordon through most of the game, but will not have updated visuals. This is due to the fact that he is an anomaly, as he was a tutorial NPC meant to die, but was saved by Gordon every time in the first game (based on a theory from someone else.) This caused him to glitch and gain sentience.
Eli and Kleiner are replaced by Darnold and Bubby respectively, as they were both killed in HL1 so Bubby and Darnold have to fill their place.
Benrey will either show up in some random weird place, or replace Barney.
Grigori is an animal, not an NPC, I feel like that would indeed affect him.

They went all out on this, and oh my god this is way too good for what it was originally going to be. It still surprises me, in the Q&A they said that they thought it would be the biggest stream and it would get "1,000 views", and now look at this! The first UA-cam video alone has 7.3M views, that is roughly 7387X as large as they estimated it would be. In the grand scale of it, this started as just a few friends making something fun together, but look at how far it has come. And the fact Dr. Coomer is the ONE CHARACTER I can remember almost everything about in all of fiction is insane, I've watched all of HLVRAI at least three times, and the Q&A streams once or twice as well, and it still keeps the same interest and excitement each watching. This literaly is one of the best (if not THE best) HL related projects I've seen, and that says quite a bit. On the off chance you guys making HL2VRAI sees this, keep up the good work.
All jokes aside, this trailer is very well animated. I believe this series will be a lot different than the original, but it will be a great sequel. (I hope Tommy is back.)

And then theres gonna be another 2 small episodes, and they announce the third one but never get around making it and then make a spinoff series 16 years later still with no definitive third installment of the series

I seriously cannot wait to see what's in store for 2024/5, this whole VR series has been an incredible journey full of laughs and tears on my end
I like how they didn't use Black Mesa scientists or any other Source model recreations for Dr. Coomer. Probably gonna make him more funny with how out of place he's gonna be with all the "normal" npcs that aren't actors.

Bro, this series legit helped me through many long college nights. I laughed, I cried, I became a family guy, and they became my family. I really hope this at least captures the magic from the original but it will be hard to top it. I don’t expect them to, so take solace in that. It may not be better, but I would rather let the experience still be fun to be then set my hopes a little too high. Can’t wait to see it.

I just thought of this. What if the person playing her has a different voice because Alyx in HLABTGA smoked too much (she can even be seen smoking here) and it made her voice more gravelly and rough!
Honestly I'm almost happier that we got faked out by Breaking Bad, this trailer has increased my excitement by leaps and bounds. Seeing G-Man passing on his job to Tommy is amazing. God I'm so excited.

Honestly more excited for this than I used to be for Freeman's Mind 2. At least I know this'll be a complete run before my hair goes gray, I swear if I planned to have kids, they'd have to finish watching Freeman's Mind 2 in my honor after I'm gone or something.
