    WOW. That is some serious bass right there. The excursions are quite insane. Do those feet on pb-4000 reduce the floor shaking alot or does it still stay quite noticeable?

    • @ThatHomeTheaterDude

      reduces a ton. I noticed less rattles around the house like doors, ac vents and the windows. It seems like cheesy and gimmicky idea, but it works 100% im a skeptic so i will always test things and rely on evidence.

      It is very likely that the sub hits the limit. The more excursion it has, the more restoring force is most probably present. So the sine wave gets distorted. That is normal in ultra deep bass and these circumstances.

    • @Squiggly667
      @Squiggly667 6 років тому +2

      Perfectly fair since the 3611's are $2,250, and discounted by about $300 if you buy them in a pair. And you get a sub with dual 18" drivers in a ported box with a 1920W RMS amp. Once SVS jumped up to the $2,500.00 price point with the 16 Ultra ported. They stepped into the same ball park as big boys like PSA, JTR, and Rythmik. I doubt the PB16 could hang with a JTR Captivator 2400 (2400-ULF) or Rythmik FV25HP either. And those are all at the same price point as the PB16 Ultra.

      I really feel like the klipsch would just not be enough for that size. it really depends on if you sit or enjoy music / movies in one spot or several spots around the room. One couch would be perfect for the ultra. If you sit at many spots then go dual. the klipsch doesnt have the authority that svs does though. SVS gets louder when you go 30hz and below. most other subs putter out around those frequencies.

    That Home Theater Dude, I have yet another question. I first had the SB-2000 in December, then exchanged it for an SB-3000. I am now getting ready to send that back. Mind you, I'm coming from a 1997 PSB subsonic 1 (10", 65w rms). It was a pretty small sub with 1 port. My current theater room is 8x15x8, but will eventually move to my master bedroom of 12x22x8. As of right now, in my pretty small room, I cannot "hide" a PB anything, like I had been with my 2000 and 3000 behind my right speaker ( a little corner, next to the door). Should I opt for 1 SB-16, or TRY to fit a PB-4000 or PB-16 in that room? I love movies, and sometimes listen to music at home. I guess my options are any 4000 or 16 series, and it will remain upstairs in either of the rooms mentioned, so the only listening position will be the bed. Please help lol.

    • @ThatHomeTheaterDude
      @ThatHomeTheaterDude  6 років тому

      If you are at the 3000 level and still wanting more bass then i would do two subs. If you only have one listening position then the a single ported will do the trick.. Im a bass head though so nothing really matches the sound of a ported, but it comes with the drawback of size. You might concider the pc-4000. A sealed 16 will probably be plenty especially if you are low on space. Make sure the sub is in the best spot via the subwoofer crawl too. You already have the 3000 so maybe start playing around with the dsp with a calibrated microphone if you want optimal bass effects. Let me know if you have more questions.

    • @magicrlj1976
      @magicrlj1976 6 років тому

      @@ThatHomeTheaterDude the 3000 sounds good, and I have enjoyed it, but....to get the impact that I like, I have to run the avr trim at 0, and the gain on the app at -10. To me, that seems like I'm pushing that 3000 too hard. It will deliver, but I feel like I would possibly get more with the 16. Is that a safe assumption?

    • @ThatHomeTheaterDude
      @ThatHomeTheaterDude  6 років тому +1

      Safe assumption. trim and levels are different though. Avr level/ gain on mine is -5.5 and i do not run the subwoofer trim. that creates an unsafe environment if you run it hot. i have my subs around -12 on the front panel

      @@ThatHomeTheaterDude Thank you so much. Part of me wishes I could try the ported version of either the 4000 or 16, but it just isn't practical in either of my upstair rooms. So, now I just have to figure out if I'll really want to spring for 1 4000 now, and add another later, or simply purchase 1 16, and live with that. I appreciate the help, thank you.

    • @ThatHomeTheaterDude
      @ThatHomeTheaterDude  6 років тому +1

      They have their brand new prime wireless that is shipping in two weeks. You get two prime bookshelf speakers with 200w of power. You dont need an avr to run them. All you do is plug a sound source into it just like you would with an avr. Plus it has the capapbility for a subwoofer out. so that way if you have a traditional powered sub you can have a 2.1 setup better than most HTIB. Its really cool and i cant wait to test it.

      Kivines Gaming its confusing cause there are sounds below 20hz that are mixed into the song. You can’t hear below 20hz so you see the woofer moving but don’t hear it. That’s why it’s weird. Sounds under 20 hz are felt but not heard. Make sense ?
