- 60+ minutes of gentle brushing sounds, tapping sounds, scratching sounds, clicking sounds and some whispering sprinkled in here and there as typewriter cleaning brushes are used in various ways on a typewriter to create soothing relaxing sounds that hopefully also help induce ASMR.

I don't know what the hell ASMR is, but my God I've never felt anything like this in my life. Starting around 34:30 I think I had a brain orgasm. I felt so excited watching the bristles get stuck in a little crevice. This is my first ASMR video. The anticipation is so intense........for fucking brushing??? I don't understand how it has this affect on me. I certainly never expected to be so emotionally moved.

This is my very first asmr experience, I actually heard it in an app originaly and then I found out Uncle E did this. The rest is history. Almost been 10 years now and I'm glad I had you stuff to get me through difficult times. Thank you.

Thanks so much for this video! I didn't know what ASMR was until one day I was watching someone paint with a brush and it really relaxed me. I then found your videos and absolutely love the brush ones you do. I watch them everyday and even think about them and I've been sleeping so much easier now. :D Sometimes I'll think of your video at random outside and feel sleepy haha. Thanks so much :)

I have this same model of typewriter. This type was actually used by Cormac McCarthy to write the book "The Road". I'm pretty sure Rift is fond of The Road so if he doesn't know that already...

One thing I've always wondered is how you actually go about making such long videos of you doing something so monotonous.
I mean, assuming you can't trigger your own ASMR by producing sounds (I know I certainly can't, but triggering ASMR seems to be pretty different from person to person), how do you find the patience to go about brushing a typewriter for 1 hour? I'm certainly impressed anyway. I'm not even taking into account multiple takes that may be required.

When I first noticed ASMR was when I my wife would use a straightening iron to curl her hair. When it clamps together it makes a noise then she rolls it. Then sets in on the counter and grabs another strand of hair to curl, repeats....

+Danny Hoogenboom It's ASMR, which is a response in your brain triggered by different sounds. Tingles are what people commonly call the feeling. People have different triggers whether it be brushing, metal tapping metal, wood tapping, whispering, the sounds of carbonated drink suds, etc. So it's not necessarily the touching of the typewriter* that is relaxing but the variation in sounds created by touching the typewriter.
+Danny Hoogenboom Put on headphones to get the full effect. I'm no pro, this is my first ASMR video but I'll tell you, I am hooked. I had some kind of emotional explosion I can only compare to an orgasm. But it wasn't sexual. An explosion of joy I guess. I felt great anticipation watching the bristles move and get stuck in the crevices. Or listening to the bristles brush on the metal cover. The metal covers a hollow interior so the metal very quietly rang, like a bell. I feel like a person who just tried bacon for the first time!!
