- Korean-based brand, Kasina, collaborated with Nike last month to release two colourways of the Air Max 1. Inspired by Won-Ang, this is the cultural tradition of gifting wood carved ducks to the couple on their wedding. It’s sad to say that it’s rare to see Nike deliver such high quality materials on a pair of sneakers such as these air maxes. They definitely hit it out of the park with these though. Dope review 🔥
I know it was stated that the colors on the orange pair felt "random", but Kasina was spot on with the colors that were included since those colors are on the Mandarin male duck. I absolutely love how accurate the colors are on that pair and out of the 2, the orange pair is definitely my favorite.

Very detailed video as always, honest I like the randomness of the orange pair, because it forces me to not over wear them. Which Iive decided that will be the pair that I would get for myself.

You pronounced it perfectly! Won-ang means mandarin duck in Korean, and they are symbols of good and harmonic love between married couple.
The grey pair reminds me of the futura dunks such a dope colourway. And totally agree about the toebox being bulky you can even see when the toebox is bulkier that the material at the front creases!
Both of these color ways are great. Definitely need to pick these up

Couldnt hit retail but picked up both on resale since the prices were slightly above retail. Had to have both, this was my favorite release of the year so far
Your sizing advice is always spot on. I feel like Nike has definitely updated the fit of several sneakers in recent years to fit more true to size. Noticed it with AM1s, AM90s, as well as Jordan 3s and 4s.

This release reminds me of the London & Amsterdam pack that dropped a couple years ago. With one pair being warm toned & the other being cool tone. Just like that drop though, this drop is absolutely 🔥🔥. I do think the grey pair is more wearable, but I do like the maroon/orange pair more because its color blocking is more unique. Both pairs are great though, and they serve different purposes for different outfits.
Greys are basically just a better version of those London joints with toe box leather instead of mesh

I think the Kasina dunks were only released in South Korea, so it is crazy rare to catch a pair! I would go for the Grey pair as well. Wish me luck on the EU drop next week!!

How is the creasing on these shoes? Easy to crease after a few years, I hate those creasing like those nike dunk lows.
I’m a big fan of these AM1. I have the Teal Patta colorway, and I think that I may like the grey Kasina pair better…
Digging the new angle and lens. One thing I noticed is it focuses on your face, but loses focus on the shoes when you have it in frame. Still great content as always!
Yeah it’s shot at a large aperture to get more separation from the background

How do you compare the quality of these pairs to Air Max 1 Concepts?
Nice kicks. Need both of them. Do you really reccommend TTS? Lots of other reviews say going half size down compared to other AM1
Well I normally used to go a half size up for AM1, and these fit good tts instead. So ymmv.
There have been cases of the wooden deubre tags breaking after a couple of wears. Be it due to the way ppl are tightening their laces etc since the sides (where the laces goes thru) are made pretty thinly. Do be aware of it or you can always swap out the deubre tags for another if you wanna protect it!

I’m undecided on which size to get I got pattas, London’s, amsterdams, skunks in 10.5 but they fit nice but I also have concepts 10.5 but they fit big in the toe box area. What is the best size

Copped the orange (male duck) for myself and the grey for the gf. But she wasn't feeling the fake fur lace panels so returned them...
For sizing, I have wide feet and always go half up in AM1s but for these you can go TTS. I copped half size up and it was too roomy and swapped with Nike for my TTS and it fits fine and not tight at all.

These are sneaker of the year-material for me. Finally got both pairs in today and the concept, quality and colorways on these are a straight homerun imho. Agreed on the bubbly toebox but for me that's no dealbreaker (the Patta's had the same issue though). However, I'm inclined to "correct" you on one aspect; the hair is not faux but it's real cow hair. Otherwise a great and clear review as always.
