Apex Overland- LX570 roof rack install
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2020
- We have had a lot of people ask us to start a channel to document our travels and builds. Today’s install is on a Lexus LX570 aka a 200 series land cruiser. The rack is a Front Runner Outfitters roof rack with Baja Designs lights and a Switch Pros panel. Total install time for everything was just short of a full days worth of work. Hope everyone enjoys the channel!

Congrats on tour new UA-cam channel! Good luck with it and stay safe!
Good stuff josh! Had no idea front runner was making wind fairings now. Going to have to get one of those
Based on your video and the possibility of dropping the mounting plate into the vehicle abyss, I'd suggest removing ONE bolt and then inserting a long threaded rod into the same hole for retrieval BEFORE removing the second bolt. At least that would give a fighting chance at easy retrieval if the mount drops.
Very clean install. Looks awesome!
Well done sir.
Hey, thanks for posting. Just curious - I didn't see how you did the front portion? The LX only has small version of the LC factory rack, thus no factory front towers. How do you attach the front portion (I wish you would have shown the install or at least comment on that part) ?
There are factory holes in the front of the roof. Once you remove the drip rail cover, you will see them.
@@ApexOverland thanks
So if the two nut fell in the shell at the back do I have to pull the headliner or or what can be done? My install has proven to be a huge headache on my lx570
Did you resolve this?
@@dr.emilschaffhausen4683 I did get it resolved thanks. Absolutely a terrible design. Almost makes we want to sell all three of my cruisers.
@@rbarnard264 That sucks. Sorry to hear that. I have an older LX, so it seems it might be easier on mine than any newer models. Really silly design change by Toyota.
Not worried about it leaking at all? What stupid engendering on Toyota’s part.
What wheels and tires set up you got on that LX570? Do you have a lift kit?
It does not have a lift kit, it has the Ride height control system so the height is adjustable. The wheels are from Method.
@@ApexOverland what size of tires?
@@raymondvillegas5370 The preferred thing to do is remove the factory 20" wheels and replace with Land Cruiser or other 18". You then have many more tire options, and a better tire for ride/off-road.
@@ApexOverland are you referring to stock height control system?
Still rocking the same rack?
Yes - the client still loves it
@@ApexOverland Thanks! Deciding between this and the Prinsu.
@@dr.emilschaffhausen4683 Definitely would go with the Front Runner.

@@ApexOverland Thank you for the link. I'll be ordering on soon.
How bad is the wind noise without the deflector?
