Everyone keeps saying Vendetta is like Eve. That's like saying Runescape is like Guild Wars 2. They're both mmorpg set in fantastic worlds. Since EOC, they both now have abilities. They both use armour and weapons. You could gather resources, craft them, and buy/sell on their markets. The main difference is GW2 is fast-paced action combat and Runescape is, meh, point and click. Obviously, gameplay is everything and the games play differently. If you're stuck comparing back stories, maybe you'd be happier reading something than playing something.
Warning to potential Vendetta players: Your ship is not easy to control. It's not intuitive, like pong ;). If you plan on using a gamepad for Vendetta, you may have trouble finding enough buttons to replace necessary keyboard functions with. Be prepared to actually have to dedicate yourself to becoming familiar with the flight controls. Mastering flight does not come easy, it's very dynamic: hence a lot of pilots sit still and focus more on aiming than moving/sitting duck syndrome.
Watch out for missiles, sitting there :p

crazy to see this game still so alive. back in the day my PC couldnt handle it and i went with space cowboy, which turned into ace online, played for many years until i graduated and stopped gaming. ten years later im back into gaming and ace online is all but dead. sup with vendetta in 2022?
Dying is not at all costly; waging wars for extended periods of time can be costly. You may lose some valuable cargo that is hard to replace if you die in a loaded trade ship, but even then there could be a battle over the cargo as it lasts 16 minutes in space without someone picking it up. When you die you are sent back to your home station (wherever that may be) less your ship, cargo (which will be floating), and equipment. You may lose some xp if there is a bounty on your head.
A key difference is that this game includes six degrees of freedom (6DoF) with Newtonian physics, emphasizing player skill in combat because you have direct control over your ship. Rather than point and click, your movements directly translate into the ship's movements.
Newtonian? I've seen a lot of videos where momentum appears to be lost when the engines are throttled down. Is that some sort of flight assist? And can it be turned off?

I think the game is still online because the devs made this a multi-platform experience, because you can play the same game (same account, ship, sistem) on mobile or desktop (i'm most a mobile user), also they gave the code to the players to do their own plug-ins, and get a diferent experience of view or some helps that they can share with others, and also they don't crave too much in money, because that only (on my point of view) lets you buy ships without the need of crystals and gives you a capital ship, well enough and still balanced 'cos it's most a game about skill °>°/
So... that's it.

I played EVE for quite some time now but i stopped playing it for some reason. This looks interesting and i have to damit that i have never tried it out. I think the most interesting part (for me) is, that you actually fly the ships by yourself. I'll give it a try - thanks for the vid!
There is usually copying among video games, for most video games either the company has come out and said it or they got caught copying. In eve/vendetta case, I just want to get to the bottom of it. There may be something mutual going on, cause I brought this up on both forums WAY back and on both forums it was deleted.

Also seems like this forum is fighting over the word "basically". The only key concept that is different is that in eve you tell the game what you want it to do and it does it. In vendetta you simply do everything yourself.

Why resort to name calling so quickly...he didn't say it LOOKS like eve, he said it's LIKE eve. Both games involve trading in a similar fashion, both games involve getting resources to build ships to thus kill each other, both games story revolve around humankind getting seperated after moving thru a wormhole...
Well thats a tough question because they play very different. EVE got the bigger universe but you dont really "explore" something. For me it always was more like a strategic board game.
In Vendetta you really fly around yourself so for me it has a more interesting exploration aspect.
The scanning is a nice feature of EVE if you are more into stuff like that.
Well i think you see they are so different its hard to tell. I guess everybody has to try it out for himself.

Just to chime in, playing both from almost thier beginnings, they basically are the same, except one focus on economy and forces you to wait to get things while the other lets jump right into it. One requires hand eye skill while the other doesnt really require skill. My question is that prob will never get answered, is who copied who? the story is so similar its obv someone got copied seems like both sides rather not talk about it.
When they both came out the games were very similar...It's just sad cause vendetta shouldve been the better game, but I think the key weakness was that they were undermanned while eve was going all out.
I figure its because the devs who work on it need food and shelter.
Lets not forget about StarTrek Online, thats now Free2Play. Good mix of Space and Ground fighting and a massive load of ships to earn or unlock. As for Vendetta vs Eve... nah, two different games. Vendetta is more like your old skool Flight Sims with a twist. Eve is a true "take my life away" grinder that you'll need to invest a ton of time in and still may not get anywhere.. if u die allot.

it looks so much like..your targets are flying all over the place, while you basically sit still. obviously that can't be the case, but you seem motionless somehow. I think I'll try the game anyway though. I need something to test drive my Galaxy Note 2 with.

utubewastingmytime I don't think those type of game request would like this game but there are plenty of gamers like myself that would be interested in me old space Sims but don't necessarily want to have to build out a PC that can handle them. It's actually kind of reminds me of colony wars on the PlayStation
Casey Woodruff the game looks fine but to be honest the graphics aren't so cutting edge they have to be downgraded to be put on the new consoles. And all actuality those systems might be able to bump up the graphics for this particular game just a little.

Can someone please tell me if this has monthly subscription fee, because it says 1$ optional subscripion fee and a 16 hour trial.
It's definitely not free to play after your allotted 8 hours or so. But, if you enjoy that period, it's worth the money.
+ZR 2 You can play on Android for free atm. For pc, it is free for 8 hours, if you wish to keep playing there is a 1$ a month subscription.

if you swap between mouse sensitivity, if you got a mouse that has a button like that. im sitting here watching thinking to myself you could improve your aim if you knew how to swap between sensitivity like that. your all over the place. id say 90% of your shots were a miss. those that landed were just luck lol
