    Kudos on solving the huge challenge of fighting in built-up areas. When I used to game, it was an issue we just plain avoided in Napoleonic or any line-army battles. Sounds like you have an elegant solution!

      I gave that an awful lot of thought. It does work very well. Thanks for that feedback! Much appreciated.

      @@leagueofaugsburg9036 It's been a very long time since I painted or fielded any minis. I stick to the screen or boardgame these days. But it makes me very happy to see the hobby is alive and well, and obviously advancing! Keep up the great work, sir!

    Could have been a great video but all the different ways you switch pictures kills it for me. You should have kept it a 2-3 different ways.

    This is a nice, condensed report. However I'd love to see the whole game including dice rolls. This is much more work, so I can understand if you don't want to. Having a dice cam is important, as is not just handholding the camera and making viewers motion-sick like the vast majority of youtube batreps. Lots of extra work, lots of editing, so basically I'm only saying this in the chance that you were already thinking about doing it and wondered if anyone wanted it.

    • @leagueofaugsburg9036
      @leagueofaugsburg9036  3 роки тому

      Useful feedback. I am relatively new to video as a media so learning all the time. You have so many things to balance -video too long, video too short, more bling or more dice rolling, more history or more gaming mechanics. I will of course take it on on board and try and continue to improve. Last thing - what is a dice cam???

    • @TylerProvick
      @TylerProvick 3 роки тому

      @@leagueofaugsburg9036 a camera fixed to a dice tray that you can cut to when rolling. Take note that my own youtube channel isn't successful, so obviously take my comments with a grain of salt.
      I find Midwinter Minis 40k batreps to be as close to ideal as I've ever seen. Voice-over instead of capturing gameplay audio, but also cutting in the gameplay audio of key reactions. Stationary camera with multiple views, dice rolled on camera, mechanics explained. About the only thing missing is special effects and graphics to illustrate and clarify.
      I actively dislike GW but still watch his batreps.
      Again, the amount of time he spends shooting and editing is likely many multiples of the time it takes to actually play the game. I have not been willing to do that to make my own painting videos so it's hardly fair to ask it of you.
      Still, since I've acknowledged that I'm being unfairly demanding hopefully it's less obnoxious.

    • @TylerProvick
      @TylerProvick 3 роки тому

      @@leagueofaugsburg9036 I should also clarify that the current videos are better than most. Most are two blokes playing while one guy holds the camera and swings it around to capture the action until I'm forced to turn it off before I retch.

      @@TylerProvick I am a team of 1. Everything you see on the vids is me - painting, photos. playing, cutting, overdubbing. That's the main reason they are short. I will watch the Midwinter stuff and see what I can pick up. Thanks for taking the time to even comment and suggest. Many people don't bother.
