Geeze I'm building this kit and wish I watched your video first. It's my second build as an adult. To have a project for my grandson and I. I did notch out one of the centering ring. Having the notch cut out of the aft ring made it just a bit bigger and I couldn't get the motor mount assembly completely into the Body Tube. Now it sort of looks like an after burner. I'm hoping it won't affect the overall rocket performance too much. What is the purpose of the longer motor tube that you demonstrated as an alternative?

The longer tube allows the use of E-size motors. You can still use C and D motors with an internal spacer.
