As someone who works at harbor frieght, we return anything and everything within 90 days, or 2 yrs if you buy the warranty. And a lot of the time, there's nothing wrong with them. Either the customer expected something out of it that the tool wasn't able to satisfy, or the customer didn't know what they were doing and got something wrong (or as he mentioned, the customer needed it for one thing and returned it afterwards). But it's used, so we can't put it back on the shelf. And then it gets sent to a warehouse, processed, and sent back to stores as open box/as is, or thrown out. Tons of things are perfectly fine, if not unused. There's currently a $45 dollar icon ratchet sitting on the return shelf at work and it's pristine, never used. But it has to be either sent to warehouse or discounted as open box (basically what he bought a shit ton of) at the store. Also, no we don't care if you oil anything daily. We don't even ask lol
What's funny is the table saws look identical to the craftsman we use at work. Tools, guard, switch, everything. Will say though it will take a beating.
I love numatic tools. Never new there were numatic drill and impact guns untill I started cabnet making... and no battery tool can compare to sending a screw to deep in .1 of a second. Cos you pulled the trigger to 100% and the sound is amazing.
That trim router was my first router, and I keep reaching for it for small jobs. I did buy it for a single thing, but keep finding it handy, it does edges super easily.
Mechanics (good) are usually jack of all trades. We do a bit of everything. Because vehicles have a bit of everything in them. I enjoy your channel. I build basic wood things from time to time.
Just a tip like that…. When buying return palettes stay away from the power tools one because mostly they are return because they dont work compared to hand tool which are probably fine

I remember the cashier telling me if I signed up for the club, I could return the jack I was buying and get a new one as long as I did it before X amount of months. It was actually a sales pitch for the program.
I bought one of those battery charger to use with an electrolysis tank And learned that it has a safety feature that doesn't allow it to have power until it's attached to a battery.

It's never fully broken until I try and fix it, then it's either fixed...or in lots of small and possibly broken parts never to be reassembled ever again. But I still learned how it worked!
I've been right with you going down that route. I'd have those battery chargers all apart seeing what's the matter with them. I learned my lesson with them. I'll only buy dumb chargers now. None of this auto shut off nonsense. Because that's the stuff that fails.
@@1pcfredWhen I see a circuit board inside my chances of repair go way down. Continuity testing or looking for bulging capacitors is pretty much my limit with electrical testing. It's great fixing something which just needed some oil or CA glue when someone was just tossing it.

Mechanic here too, not sure how i wound up with woodworking but seems like a fun place so i subscribed 😂
Our Maintenance shop at the foundry I work at would love the air tools in that pallet. We fix almost everything in house.
I've heard the Harbor Freight Earthquake impact is pretty powerful. In this video it sounded to me like it had some zip to it.
What's funny is the table saws look identical to the craftsman we use at work. Tools, guard, switch, everything. Will say though it will take a beating.
You could check if any local schools have shop classes that would benefit from a donation of a bunch of tools like that.
I love numatic tools. Never new there were numatic drill and impact guns untill I started cabnet making... and no battery tool can compare to sending a screw to deep in .1 of a second. Cos you pulled the trigger to 100% and the sound is amazing.
I will say the earthquake impacts are actually really good. Mine outlasted 2 Ingersoll Rands
I really like the impact wrench at 7:22. I used to have one and it is really close too the Ingersol Rand Impact
That trim router was my first router, and I keep reaching for it for small jobs. I did buy it for a single thing, but keep finding it handy, it does edges super easily.
11:50 yeah i accidentally giggled a bit when i heard this one😅 "taking all the ones that suck off"😅
Mechanics (good) are usually jack of all trades. We do a bit of everything. Because vehicles have a bit of everything in them.
I enjoy your channel. I build basic wood things from time to time.
Just a tip like that…. When buying return palettes stay away from the power tools one because mostly they are return because they dont work compared to hand tool which are probably fine
That big 1" impact is for taking lug nuts off of semi trucks and trailers, i use that mostly everyday but one of those 1/2 impacts lookss tempting to have 🔥🔥 specially the stubby one 🤩🤩🤩
I remember the cashier telling me if I signed up for the club, I could return the jack I was buying and get a new one as long as I did it before X amount of months. It was actually a sales pitch for the program.
Your authenticity is what keeps me coming back
Picked up a predator generator return. Literally only needed oil and it worked flawlessly.
I bought one of those battery charger to use with an electrolysis tank And learned that it has a safety feature that doesn't allow it to have power until it's attached to a battery.
just started getting into wood working and trying to start getting more tools and such and have loved your content and have learned a lot and enjoyed watching everything
lol I’m a automotive technician and I love this channel ngl
@@zloki83 I am somewhat versed in electronics. Yet there's still plenty that for a variety of reasons I'm not going to be able to repair. Continuity testing or swapping caps can fix a fair number of faults. Going much past that usually isn't worth it.
Mechanic here. I watch both channels now, because I’m learning something I don’t know much about but would enjoy doing if I had the space.
