i raced r/c cars with both Oscar and Chris many years ago and it's so great to see Oscar where he is, both him and his dad were fabulous people to race against and generally be around, so it's really great to see such aweosme people get some proper success
as someone who only watches F1, i was an early hater of Piastri during his first races, had the personality of a glass of water. But ive been proved wrong and im glad, as you say, he's come out of his shell. Wish him good luck

Love the video! When you were going over his family, I noticed that his sister looks exactly like him. I know they have the same parents but even my siblings and I don’t look that similar. 😂 I will definitely be cheering on him and Lando this season. ☺️

Also, I’m interested to see how Lando responds if Oscar is able to increase the pressure on him.
That's super cool I didn't know his dad was the co-owner of HP Tuners, though it makes sense now. HP tuners is the best tuning software for GM vehicles.
He's my favourite driver on the grid...looks like a world champion material, hope McLaren will eventually give him the right car to compete Also feels good to share birth-day with my favourite driver lol

Oscar signed for Mclaren before Sebs retirement and Alonso saying he was leaving. It was in early July. Oscar had no actual contract with Alpine and so was a free agent. The contract he signed was as reserve in 2023 and full time driver in 2024. At that time the future of Daniel had not been decided . They were giving him more time. It was after the summer break that Daniel and Mclaren decided to part ways. Its all in the public domain.

Oscar will likely become champion after Max has left the sport. Until then, chances are a whole generation of excellent and highly talented drivers will find themselves out of luck because of a freak accident of nature.
Is an Oscar a future world champion? Yes, but so is Lec, Rus, Gas, Nor, Ham (again), maybe Alb, plus upcoming talent and over the next 5 years there will probably only be 1 car capable of producing a wdc and Max will be driving it. By then at least half of these “future world champs” will have moved on to other ventures. So in reality we probably need to start just saying “top tier driver” and reserve fwdc for the 1 or 2 drivers that rb or merc build their absurdly funded team around over the next decade.
Melbourne upper class or gentrifying? Back a bit away from the beach there, if they hadn’t bulldozed the old middle-class homes to build McMansions, the place would be truly nothing special. Same goes for suburbs like Toorak. Check out some of the mansions on massive properties with stunning views of Sydney Harbour and you just know they’d be worth a freakin’ fortune. You can see the money. Melbourne… not so much IMO.

They can't change on a whim. Oscar's number is also personal to him, rather than a "use 5 because it matches with a teammate he may not have forever anyway".
