  • Back in mid-2020, I made many AV3 Tutorials as a way for SDK2 creators to understand SDK3. SDK3 for avatars only just came out around then, so many people only knew the things they already knew from SDK2.
    I realize that nowadays, these videos are not great for beginners. Especially since SDK2 is now deprecated. I am in the process of updating most of them (currently working on Toggles) with an emphasis of being much more beginner friendly.
    In the meantime, i've edited the titles, descriptions, and some thumbnails of these older videos to be (slightly) less confusing, and deter beginners from using them, as they were never meant to be used for beginners in the first place.
    I know most of you are here because of those videos, so thank you all for the support you've given me. I never thought in a million years I'd be where I am right now with UA-cam, all over some silly vrchat avatar tutorials. Thank you all again so much, I can't wait to keep providing for you ❤️

    Your videos have been super useful to me, as they are straight to the point and not bloated with information that you don’t need to know or already know. This has been so much better for my ADD brain as all that useless information usually makes it much harder for me to follow what it is im actually there to learn + it offers me a chance to experiment with the things you don’t focus on, offering me a chance to learn first hand. Thank you for what you do ^^

    even if they weren't for beginners, Your videos were extremely helpful in making my first avatar, excited to see an updated version. (I hope your updated toggles video covers how to animate a bit more in detail)

    In my opinion, your videos are a lot easier to use than a lot of other tutorials, they're a lot more to the point and easier to follow.

    I like your tutorials because they are short and simple and followed along when getting started but since the new changes unfortunatly I get confused in the editor cant wait for your updated tutorials!

    You have no idea how much you’ve helped me, I started making avatars after 3.0 realised yes I had hours of ripping my hair out. And I had no idea what a FX layer was for ages 😂 but hey I’m glad your doing the make overs because it will be a lot easier for new comers!

    The frequent update with methods and technique is why i made tutorials on website instead of video. It’s much more efficient to quickly updates website if anything new changes.

    I really appreciated you making those videos, they literally crash-coursed me on everything 3.0 in less than 20 minutes, and I've never really had to watch any other tutorials since. Everything has been so easy to figure out after just watching your quick run-downs, and I showed these to many friends and other creators who found them useful too.

    I started with sdk3 and used your videos to get started making my own avatars. It was actually perfect for me, because it wasn't a 30 minute long video but still visually explained everything.

    I am so grateful that you made those videos, back when 3.0 recently came out i dive in and i didnt really had a solid start point until I found your tutorials which help me slowly learn more till I was able to play freely on what I could do.
    Now im confident on what kind of features i want on a avatar while working on It~

    I love your videos Sippbox, your shortform and too the point format makes the whole process so much simpler, I've pretty much only ever done things similar to the way you show in your tutorials, but I recognize I have a lot of prior experience. I'm really looking forward to your updated videos!

    Your videos have always impressed me, even when I wasn't a big fan of vrchat. I always knew you were an amazing editor and creator, and it was certainly awesome to see you get the popularity that you deserve for the hard work and creativity you put in. Even though you and I have gone our separate ways, it's refreshing to see you doing well. And admittedly, I've actually used a few of your videos to work on avatars of my own. So regardless of our standing, I look forward to your next series of tutorials so that I may better understand avatar creation.

    one of the best things with ur tutorials were it only took at max 3 minutes to understand what ur doing. other people put the same information in a video but it takes them 10 minutes. i loved ur quick and easy to understand tutorials the only things thats missing is a good and easy to understand blender tutorial but thats not neccesary

    I recently got a headset and vrchat and your account has been a godsend. The tutorials I've watched have been super helpful in modifying my avatar and I've had very few issues following along, even being completely new to unity. All I need to figure out now is how to add music to my animations...

    I love your videos dude, I'm new to VRC but I wanted to have my own identity so used VRoid to make anavatar and then got into Unity, you got no idea how much your videos have helped me, even correct some stuff cuz of other "bad" tutorials I followed, sure I run into some things here and there but that's cuz it's all so damn new to me, thx to you me v2.0 avatar will soon be finished, with custom animations, facial expressions, clothing I can change the textures of.... al thx to people like you!

    I'm new to avatar creating, and I've watched most video's more than once. And most of the times when I Google stuff I come back to you, so that's why I subscribed. Also you do atleast seem to always show what buttons to press although it might be quick and without saying anything.

    VRChat seems to make things intentionally difficult to create avatars. ChilloutVR is great for easy avatar creation, but CVR doesn’t have a huge user base. They also have the issues regarding their strict copyright protection, so most things people want to make can’t be made without permission from the original creators. VRChat has more and less freedom, if that makes sense. Making something impressive requires more experience, but you don’t have to worry too much about copyright unless you are making paid avatars, which you should never do on VRChat, EVER. Never sell your avatars, because they will be pirated and you cannot do anything about it. It’s obnoxious that it’s a problem, but that’s how VRC is. If you’re going to sell avatars, do that on ChilloutVR if their user base ever goes higher. They encrypt uploaded content, VRChat does not. It’s a matter of what you want. Fun but broken and unsafe is VRChat. Relaxed and protected, but less freedom is ChilloutVR. Both platforms have their benefits and their shortcomings. Try both of them, give them both an equal chance, but in all honesty, most people just play VRChat anyway because their friends are there, and there’s more games.

      @yutyrannus5209 2 роки тому

      even if vrchat would encrypt there avatars give it some time and people will find a way around it trust me. i honest dont think that vrchat is making avatars to complicated many people are scared to take some time and learn the basics

    • @beanmchocolate3900
      @beanmchocolate3900 2 роки тому

      @@yutyrannus5209 even still, adding some features is not a straightforward task. If people are getting around the encryption, there could be SDK security updates making minor changes to encryption to make it difficult. Every so often, the encryption method slightly changes. They could also easily add a bot that learns what malicious clients are like, and detects attacks using avatars or clients. If an avatar uses a shader that has specific code, the user gets a warning saying “Avatar appears to have a malicious shader, using this avatar to crash users will result in moderation being called in. You have been warned.” They could also train the bot to detect clients made to crash instances. The gang wars would finally end, and people can finally relax.

      @SippsAvatarBox  2 роки тому +1

      Only if VRChat ever makes having write defaults off a requirement. Keeping them on isn't as big of a deal as the docs make it out to be
