Welcome to my updated tutorial on creating toggles for your 3.0 avatar! This video goes over using bools to toggle a prop in your hand, and using ints to swap through accessories! Hopefully this helps you make your avatar more customizable!

i've been learning much with your videos since i'm new to avatar making, i'm happy that my penguin can be a engineer with turrets! at the start it was quite hard to follow along quickly but i managed to get through just fine, this video was the fun trip to learn!
also as this isnt specified in the video before you upload the avatar make sure to delete your duplicate model, dont worry everything transfers over to the current one
Delete the Duplicate as in the old one or the new one?
What’s the point of having a duplicate model
animating on a main model causes irreversible damage and has you stuck in the bind pose
but even if you make a duplicate model, use it and then delete it, the oringal model goes into the bind pose

One of the best tutorials I have found. It moves quick and wastes no time and has all the information needed. The pause button is your friend. My Little Sister avatar now has her needle!

this was very easy to understand, coming from someone with no experience! I had to remove some parameters first because of the avatar base I am using had filled the parameter data, but it was very easy to remove some of the unneeded parameters and set up new ones.

This helped me figure out why my eyes would stop blinking when I did a toggle for eyes closed. I used the example you gave and used an idle state instead of going straight into having eyes on.

for anyone who is having the issue of your recording stopping when you select your prop check if your prop has an animator component on it, after I removed the animator component on it I was able to select it during the recording without the recording getting cancelled

I want to add a note to this
if you already have gesture animations mapped to the hand holding the prop, add an avatar mask to the prop for the hand it's in so it doesn't break the other animations!

Hey. i have a question, if i want to instead of hiding the Prop, but it on my back, how would i go about that?
@@hazzy5714 (Completely random idea, I'll test it out in a second) I assume it would work somewhat like having a 2nd model of it, and having it where you want it on your back. Have it off of course, and have the one in your hand on. Turn on Record then turn off the one in the hand then turn on the one on the back, I'm not sure about the transition stuff though. I assume it would be the same. (As I said, a complete guess) I hope this helps!
Many thanks! Was able to make a prop for my WoL! Quick, concise, and most of all simple enough for a complete beginner to VRchat rigging to follow! -Only oddity is that trying to add a second prop wouldn't allow me to parent it to the bone, saying it needed to be unpacked or something.- I was an idiot, I was dragging under rather than on the bone.

so, for the bools, every time you make a new toggle, do u have to make another bool param and repeat the process?

Can I do this but instead of an object can it be a sound?... Can be treated as a toggle? You know just a Radial menu option to play and stop a song or sound? Thank you.
If you wanna do the first method of toggling props can you do that with multiple toggles in the same layer or do you need a new layer every time you wanna add a new prop toggle

so I have a question, what happens if i have a skin that has a single texture with 2 different version next to eachother (that would also be animated), how would I make a toggle for that?

Hi! I tried in the past to have there be an "entrance" animation that goes between the "exist" animation and "no" animation but it ends up bugged. I am currently away from my computer (and thus the files) but can you perhaps do a video on this subject or something similar?
Im having a issue were one of my avatars had a prefab toggle menu and when i try to put new toggles in the object wouldnt pop in conditions, i made sure the names and case sensitives were tight, its not working regaurdless
Worked out great, just have an issue where i cant move my model around in the play mode due to something with the prop acessories, anyone know a fix?

A bit late but I have a question! Your tutorials are great and I love them. However in both this tutorial and the one where you can change facial expressions, you make 2 entirely different FX. How do I make one FX so I can have both? I haven't been able to find a solution for this.

Holy F*ck. They actually did it. With this, you can make "dynamic" avatars (in the sense that you can switch clothes, and probably even haircut).
VRChat hasn't changed much in appearance, but what's under the hood really improved with Physbones, toggles and IK 2.0!
EDIT : So, I was wondering. In order to change clothes, do they need to be set as accessories? I saw a tutorial on UA-cam that required merging two armatures, it sounded long and annoying so I'm looking for another method ^^'. For now I'll just make my character half-naked and set the clothes as accessories, like the hats in this example.
Is it possible to toggle off already connected things? Like my model came with wings (And I exported the whole thing together from blender) and I was wondering if I could just toggle them off and on.
Iv been having an issue where when i do the recording part and i go to select the prop it turns the recording off and iv tried using shift and the CTRL key but nothing is working is there anyway or advice to help with this?
