Putin will have to take the blame, but he's desperate to dodge responsibility for his crimes (sound familiar?) I expect he'll be made an offer he can't refuse: go away and stay alive, or not. I like the idea of Putin sitting somewhere, wondering just how reliable the former promise really was.

@russellspeed1693 Russians and Ukrainians were, ethnically speaking, like brothers.
But Russia has always been like Cain. The Holodomor, serving Ukrainians up as meat shield in WW2, general exploitation...
Now Ukrainians will forever hate Russia. There's a whole new generation who had no memory of all the historic crimes Russia committed in Ukraine, that are now seeing the bloodthirst, sexual violence and thievery of the Russian people. This war will cost Russia it's future.

The problem is that Russia is flat and armies can move across it quickly so Russia is trying to plug two geographical choke points, the Bessarabian Gap and the Polish Plains, Ukraine is on the way to them both. Thanks to Russia’s impending demographic crisis, this is the last decade that they will have sufficient numbers of young men to attempt this so it’s now or never. Thanks to the institutionalised corruption inherent in the Russian system, the military has proven to not be up to the task, but they are learning lessons and adjusting tactics which results in the meatwaves of mobilised soldiers and convicts but that results in diminishing returns as the Ukrainian refine their countermeasures. So long as Ukraine can keep producing drones faster than Russia can produce soldiers, they will prevail.

The sanctions were designed to impact the ruling elite and oligarchs. We were specific about trying to not harm the everyday Russian.
Now we are talking about blowing up rail and industry infrastructure... what about modifying the sanctions?
If the goal is now to get ALL RUS to turn against Putin (who just got re-elected again) then we need to make life under his admin unlivable, but demonstrate that as a Putin problem, not a RUS-US problem. Unfortunately we have little to do w/ areas outside of the major cities and our support inside of St. Petersburg and Moscow have already fled for The West.

Sanctions don't have a good track record of working, especially if other countries enable work around (ie: China, Iran, N Korea, etc).
The idea was sanction the elites and they would change Purins mind but that didn't happen.
Now the ONLY choice is to make the whole economy crumble and cause the common Russian lots of pain and get THEM to change the regime.
Our leaders are idiots, no one who knows history or economics expected the sanctions to work, it boggles the mind that "Washington" ever thought so. Really inexplicable.
And the Biden administration has slow walked weapons deliveries waiting and waiting and waiting for the sanctions to work which has increased the Ukrainians death toll and drawn out the war. An example is, there should have been a dozen Ukraine pilots brought over for F-16 training along with the ground support crews in the FIRST MONTH of the war. And if they never got used at least they were there just in case. Instead the incompetent Biden administration waited until it was borderline too late just to start the training so now it'll be the end of this 3rd quarter or maybe 4th quarter before the pilots are ready. Probably 30% of the Ukrainians CIVILIAN and military casualties are from that mistake alone since the Russians have been launching cruse missiles at civilian infrastructure targets and the F-16s could have stopped most of it. The glide bombing of the Ukrainians front lines has also killed a lot of troups and again the F-16 should have been there a year ago to take out the Russians launch planes. Same with the anti-sir and artillery, Biden announced it as aid BUT it was shipped SLOW and IN SMALL QUANTITIES (when the US military logistics could have had it there in LESS THAN TWO WEEKS, but a lot promised last year hasn't hotter there yet, let alone what was approved this year, it's sitting in warehouses here in the US, not on transport to Ukraine.

As we know, the Ukraine is using NATO weapons it begs the question, why doesn’t the Ukraine higher or professional nato soldiers. Russia is already doing this by using Chinese soldiers and from other countries as well.

There’s be a shortlist of people like oligarchs and military leaders that you could put on the no fly list the rest of need to be treated decently by the western world so they can see we are not the enemy, Vladimir Putin is the enemy

Let Gen Hodges explain what the West political and military objectives are. He should stop discussing tactics which is the responsibility of commanders in the battlefield. He talks about irrelevant issues that have nothing to do with the facts on the ground. He speaks like a corporal not like a general.

Have to sit thru a Trump begging-for-money ad. Trump has 14-carat gold plated toilet seats at Mar-a-Lago. I know. Saw them on "Lifestyles Of the Rich And Famous" many years ago.
