William Lewis was the most scariest and horrifying criminal she ever fought with on SVU throughout the show’s entire run. He still haunts her till this day. That whole arc was crazy.

The really scary thing is that people like the character of William Lewis really do exist and do these things to women . Every minute in America, One out of 8 adult women, or at least 12.1 million American women, have been the victim of forcible rape. 16 out of 1000 children between the ages of 12-17 are victims of rape/sexual assault . So the episodes they show that involve those types of storylines are very close to home for many people out there .

When Olivia's (Mariska Hargitay's) voice drops like that...she becomes the victim, the victims that she fights for everyday but that's okay because it's so powerful. You can't breathe, you feel her words, you know exactly where she's coming from; the awareness of what it truly is to be a victim and in some ways that's more influential than playing the mama bear cop. And when you really have been that victim thank you isn't enough

Where Mariska must go in her mindset to get such a raw emotion like this gets me every time. I thought the same thing in the season 15 premiere when she beat Lewis with the bedpost. Those screams weren't put on; they were pure anguish. It's almost like the director said "Think of everything in your life that has hurt you and let it all out on this squishy bit of foam." And damn man did she ever! Those screams are of pain; and her eyes and voice in this scene, even her body language. She is shaking to her core and it seems like she is about to break.
It's been 13 years since Mariska last won an Emmy I think it's time for another one.

This is seriously one of my favorite episodes. We’re at a point in the show where there’s so much history with these characters that you can put them in a room together and have them debate something for an entire episode and it’s freaking fantastic. And the conversation feels like a very real, gritty conversation that cops would have over something like this. There is so much to unpack with each of them. They all have different views and some of them are torn. At the beginning of the episode we only see their opinions, but as the discussion gets deeper and deeper we see why they see it that way and how they came to think like that. They get to the heart of everybody's plausibility structures and covered so much ground in this episode. It was fantastic.

    - Nearly six years later, it's pretty clear that Olivia, though she's tried to move on from the past, still hasn't quite gotten over her traumatic & terrifying ordeal with William Lewis. Remember, he broke into her apartment, held her at gun point, pistol-whipped into unconsciousness, tied her up and gagged her, drove her out to a secluded area( on the way there he murdered a police officer in cold blood during a traffic stop and Olivia heard the entire thing but couldn't make a sound because she was still bound and gagged in the back seat of Lewis' car ), and handcuffed her onto a bed where he may indeed have forced himself on her numerous times more than we might already know. She managed to free herself and fight back against Lewis and tied HIM to the bed and practically shifted the entire ordeal in her favour, eventually beating him into unconsciousness in a fit of rage and retaliation.. And that all happened in their 1ST encounter alone. Every time something happens that reminds her about it and takes her back to those frightening moments, you can't blame Olivia for how she reacts. Respect to Amanda Rollins, but it's good that Olivia reminded her exactly what experiencing trauma & terror can feel like after a personal experience.

I know everyone wishes that Fin or Barba or someone who knew the case was there to pull Olivia out of it and comfort her, but I don’t think she would’ve put this all out there if Amanda wasn’t the one in that room with her in that moment. This is what she needed. I don’t think she would’ve gone to this point if she hadn’t felt the utmost of comfortable with Amanda.

    • @alexandraanderson3988

Yeah she would never or has ns never shared this with either of them barba or fin which is crazy cause she knew fin for a long time plus Barba was long one during this time but I noticed that even tho rollins may not be my favorite. I notice how comfortable and vulnerable she is with her. She's basically seems like the only other person she can confide in and trust with her feelings when it comes to topics like lewis and all which I love. She basically wouldn't even tell Stabler about this and he's her partner lmaoo. The only other person she might tell besides Rollins is probably casey since she told her about her mother and all.

And the Lewis taunted her with mentioning Elliot, during the trial and when Liv had him handcuffed she mentions him, she probably wanted to see him one last time if she were to die, it was subtle tactic for Lewis to rile up Liv by mentioning El in the courtroom but to Liv it must of hurt knowing her best friend's name was being used against her

I was in a very abusive relationship similar to this. The silent threats were just as bad if not worse than the verbal and physical ones. Even after my family got me out of that situation, it took me a long time to understand that he raped me physically and mentally. The people that say "you never have to see them again" aren't in your dreams.. I will never forget no matter how hard I try.

Guys, stop saying Olivia lied about the rape kit. She wouldn't, she had no reason to. He would have gone away for life *just* for that charge alone. She wouldn't put her pride over getting justice just to hide that she'd been raped. And it would've gone against everything she believed in and had done at SVU. She gets justice for other women, men and children but stops at herself? Come on! And I know sexual assault is a *very* traumatic thing, believe me, and lots of people don't tell what happened to them to keep from embarrassed and a lot of other reasons, but this isn't one of those times.

    • @sarahhancock7834

I don’t think he ever raped her. However, he still assaulted her. Physically, Mentally, psychologically, and sexually. If he did rape her, I think Olivia’s character didn’t want the pity or the attention focused on her. Doesn’t it say on the show that it came back negative?
