Crossgen was a great comic book universe. Every book was on a different planet and rarely interacted with each other. Each series could be enjoy separately but the overall universal story was well orchestrated. All the artwork was gorgeous. It wasn't properly finished but was very enjoyable. Negation, Sigil, and Crux were my favorite series. The next omnibus Mystic is also good with beautiful artwork. Nice to see them in this format.
Crossgen was such a great time to be in comics - and deserves the omnibus archive treatment.
This is my book of the year! Really hope Marvel prints the rest of the line. Mystic announced, Scion a shoe-in (coz Jim Cheung) and Meridian still under-rated to this day. And that’s just the first wave!
Thanks Omar, really hope more people experience this era of comics!
What would be the full wave? 🤔
Sojourn is one of the best fantasy books ever.
I loved the crossgen universe I was and still so upset were all stories finally came together and then it was over after one issue
Rip to the cousins who with the other creators brought more to this world
Sigil and Crux were my introduction to Crossgen comics and I loved those two series.
The artwork definitely stood out to me as a kid... Absolutely loved the illustrations.
After the 5 month delay from the originally announced date, it's hard to believe this collection is real....Well, re-reading this series should be a great way to start off 2014! Here's hoping we also get Scion, Meridian, and, well, literally all the rest. I will fill an entire shelf with these, if Marvel gives me the chance to...
I loved Sigil. It was great sci-fi soap opera drama.
Marvel is really going deep on this one. Nice!
I remember reading all of the previews of Crossgen comics in wizard magazine. Man I’m glad some more unknown series are getting love.
I'll pre-order Mystic and hope for a Scion omnibus.
Hey Marvel, if you are printing CrossGen books - It is time to for a Ruse Omnibus.
Ruse would be awesome!!👍🏼
This bring Back Good Memories of my First Paperback Back when I was in High school. A Paperback Called EDGE vol. 7 A compilation of Cross Gen Issues of Ruse, Mystic, Sigil, Way of The Rat, Scion & The First still got my paperback copy.
Thanks Uncanny Omar for an Awesome Overview
I can't describe how happy I am that this ia published. Hopefully they print the rest of the Crossgen library 😁
CrossGen is for me one of the best ever and I made an effort of getting all the single issues for all the series they printed with one exception and that's Rob Zombie's Spookshow International which I stopped buying after issue 2. Marvel would make me very happy with omni's for all the series allthough a lot of the series were low in issue count.
This is fantastic news, Omar! I definitely will buy this even though I have everything CrossGen as it is already! The entire line is collectible as single omnibuses because of the premature cancellation. I always thought Disney was sitting on a goldmine by having purchased this IP because they could have continued developing an original mythology with a built-in fan base longing for the climax of the saga in "NEGATION: WAR"! "Meridian" was the only title that satisfyingly concluded and Sephie would have been an ideal heroine for the Mouse to showcase. "Negation" was my favorite title with Obregon Kaine and the CrossGen abductees in the Negation universe. The entire saga owes more than a little tip of the hat to Michael Moorcock's concept of the Eternal Champion and multiversal conflict even though CrossGen only has two universes and the Sigil-Bearers hailed from different planets in the same universe. What an incredible comic experiment both creatively, logistically and commercially!
Their name is pronounced Lie not Lay. They were fired and Scot replaced them. I worked at Crossgen all four years, and I worked on Sigil for about 2 of those years. Cool seeing some of my artwork after all these years in the book.
Yes!! I’m buying the hell out of this and hoping they print more after Mystic. I love CrossGen!
Back in the day I only read a few issues of Scion... Hope they collect more Crossgen series. This looks really good.
I just ordered Sigil today, 12/15, can’t wait, am so excited to get this omnibus! I loved and still love the Crossgen universe, thank you Marvel! So Mystic is next, yes I’m so there!
I love science fiction books. So this might be a great read for me.
Thank you very much Omar, I did not even knew this exist. It is exactly my type of book and art, huge Annihilation saga fan.
I knew of Crossgen but never looked into it. Those interiors look awesome. I might have to pick this up. The story sounds interesting enough.
I think Ruse would be the only crossgen id buy.
Really cool that they collected this in omni format
Sounds like a great story, might have to pick this one up!
Great review Omar as always. I Don't know if there are any Trademark issues. But I myself would love Sojourn. I know it probably be a bit smaller only 35 issues. But as you know there have been smaller Omnibuses. That was a great books and also there biggest selling tittle.
It looks very interesting.
Sojourn next
I think the only CrossGen I have read was the crossover with Spider-Man. Might get this one just out of curiosity
This looks so cool.
Mega printer spreads oh yeah! Feel like such a nerd being happy about binding of a book…..
I didn't know anything about this series.
Well I wasn't interested at all, but now I think I have to read this.
Give me Ruse and Sojourn to go along with this and I'd be happy.
So excited for this loved the Crossgen books. I can't wait to reread. I forget basically everything!! I hope they keep the Crossgen omnibus coming. I am pretty sure you announced Mystic? I hope sales keep up so we can get the original 4 series collected and maybe Ruse
id love to get a sojourn omnni
"never read Brath" Oh man, you missed out, that was a great book.
It looks like it’s up my alley!
I'd heard of Crossgen back in the day but never read any of it. I was prepared to blind buy this and take a chance , but after this I'm a bit excited for it.
Cool overview Omar. Crossgen had some cool comics my favorites were Abadazad and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
I hope Marvel publishes Ruse the complete series’s and Crux
Woohoo
I'd buy a Crux omnibus.
Oldsmar Florida
Hej! They CHANGE one of the covers!!! I preorder that one...
Mystic Omnibus gets released in 2024.
Correct. I announced it a few months back.
Nice, I worked on that book also.
This is a pass for me. Tried to get into it when this series was originally published and again just recently to see if I should pick up the Omnibus and it just wasn't for me.
The amount of unnecessary spoilers in your videos is something you should work to improve in your already great videos. Keep up!
Can I ask what was spoiled? I’ve tried to be as careful as possible while also trying to engage my audience into the stories collected in these books. I put spoiler tags in the videos that I know go into heavy spoilers. But what I gave here was the pitch for the series and the five main characters. Some people get hooked on art, some on story and some on both. But I would like to know what it was that you think was too much.
Bull….he does it right. 99% of omnibus collectors are already familiar with the stories collected. He is just doing a quick overview. If you don’t like it, don’t watch.
I didn't know anything about this series, but because of the overview now I want to read the stories in here. I think he does a great job of showing us just enough to get us hooked.
The best stories can't be spoiled. With that said, Omar does great work on these overviews and he isn't spoiling anything. These stories are 20 years old if my understanding is correct.
I didn't even know what Crossgen was. Now I feel like I kind of know their type of stories.
