- Christkindlesmarkt in Nürnberg is one of the best Christmas markets in Germany. It takes place during Advent in the Hauptmarkt, the central square in Nuremberg’s old town, and in adjoining squares and streets. With about two million visitors a year the Nürnberger Christkindlesmarkt is one of the largest Christmas markets in Germany and one of the most famous in the world. Every year the Christmas market begins on the Friday preceding the first Sunday in Advent and ends on December 24, unless that day is a Sunday.

I love the city of Nuremberg so much, may she was a dark page in history but the only thing that i feel when im visiting her is happiness, so much beauty.
I lived in Germany for 20 years, 10 of those in Nurnberg. so I was spoiled with the CKM every year. Thank you for a great jaunt thru that area 30 years later.
If you are ever there for Weinachts, on Christmas Eve you MUST go to the Lorenzkirche at midnight, if not earlier. At midnight Oh Du is sung at the end of the service. The doors are flung open while the carol ends and the congregation streams out into the cold night. But many wait. A bell rings over and over for perhaps 15 minutes. Then the battery of bells in the church opens up full throttle. It is amazing! You can hear everything from Bach to the Beatles in that wave of sound-anything you want to hear. My high school lit teacher called that a "trancendental experience".

Wow. So many memories. I haven't been to Nurnberg in almost 16 years yet it looks the same! I loved Nurnberg and especially loved it at Christmas time. So lovely to see it again

Such a beautiful place ! I was lucky enough to visit there many times while I was stationed in Germany twice. I was even more lucky to have brought my wife and children there the second time I was stationed in Germany. The German people were so kind and seemed to enjoy telling us about the history of the churches and other things. My children loved the place and I hope some day that I can go back for just one more visit but this time with my grandchildren. I pray that it never changes
Was in Nuremberg from 20th to 26th dec 2019 and enjoyed the Christmas market twice, beautiful but very expensive artefacts on display and for a person like me who does not eat swine, food was limited.Enjoyed trip to various places in Germany.Picture perfect.

Lived in Nuremburg from 1976-1985 as an Army Dependant...basically I grew up in Germany. We would go to the Christkindlesmarkt every year at Christmas and rotate the ring on the fountain for luck.

Nuremberg looks like the miniature version of Prague, especially in the winter. Prague and Nuremberg are also a bit close to eachother.

i was in Hanau for about 3 yrs in the 3rd armor div and went to Nuremberg just down the road ONE time ,you can still fell the evil there .some one was playing a trump speech at the time it was like 1939 all over again .
