    Had the opportunity to get a 1 hour session from Dabuz and I spent the hour picking his brain on various topics because I felt like fighting him wouldn't be good use of the money and time. I did request to fight a few matches with the last 10 mins for novelty reasons though!

      It just depends on who you are, pick his brain for sure. But imo its better for you to play and him tell you about your habits and the reason you arent leveling up based on the matches he is playing against you

    That was definitely the best session I've seen of yours. It must be the speedrunner in him. Theirs a certain level of understanding you must have for doing a lot of the glitches that go into these runs so it makes sense.

      Speedruns get nuts, the way they purposefully break games. those things take lots of crazy skill

    The classic money match for experience has done me super well. Its one of the best ways to get better players more invested in helping you grow, and even though it can be discouraging there is a clear path to growth. Back in June I was asking for money matches and getting farmed, but was able to grow a lot through it and even managed to start winning them and going even in December :)

    Can you talk more about that, when you say "flowcharting instead of trying to react to everything"? I feel like I always relied on just reacting and reading everything in Brawl and Smash 4, and it worked well for me, but not as much in Ultimate.
    Like, what is the biggest difference? Is there something inherently wrong with that playstyle? I think I heard one of the other coaches (like Smash University or Ramses) talk about that briefly.

      Actually Charles talked about that before he said there's nothing wrong with it and for the most part that's how you beat the better players but doing that for like 15 matches at a major it gets really exhausting mentally on you. And this is just my opinion as well but there's so little endlag it's generally harder to react imo when compared to previous titles.

      I think the optimal idea is to have a flowchart/plan that is safe and to switch on and off when you are reacting and when you are predicting. Not to pick 1 or the other as a overall style but to use them as tools to solve the problem

    Hey meta of smash I was once at my first tourney and I was told to respect bowser on ledge. Why should I do that?

    • @eunit08
      @eunit08 2 роки тому +4

      Bowser can get kills super early. Thats my thoughts on that. Down B and DAir can spike you. And there is Bowsercide

    • @MetaTrixx
      @MetaTrixx  2 роки тому +4

      the side b can just force you off stage, and if bowser has stock advantage he wins

      That's basically the size of it. Bowsercide is really dangerous because of how quickly it can be done. For context, he can let go of ledge, double jump forward, and use side be. At the worst, it can be like frame 12-14, but can be death in the blink of an eye

    It's sad that I might be getting rusty since I haven't played against a person in 2 years now, just CPU training for combos consistency and movement and even though I have a better Internet I don't think is decent enough for online play.

    The iceberg of smash is real. Here I am thinking I can probably be decent in tournaments with only 300 hrs of smash ultimate (I didnt play much of smash4 and didnt play Brawl basically at all), and the top players logged at least 1k hours on each smash game that came out 😅. Plus I main Kirby, a low(ish) tier
