Byłem w Irlandii po raz pierwszy w 1987 roku i często słuchałem utworów Chrisa i do dzisiaj mi to zostało. Pływałem na linii Swansea Cork. Kiedy za którymś razem wracałem z Shannon do Gdańska,kupiłem sobie grafikę przedstawiającą katedrę w Cobh, obok, której przepływałem dziesiątki razy.Ten obrazek wisi w mojej sypialni i kiedy gaszę światło, to mam ją przed sobą, tak jak bym spoglądał na nią z rufowego pokładu Celtic Pride. W głowie mam melodie typowego Irisha i piękne surowe krajobrazy tych okolic, z żegnającą i witającą latarnią Roches Point. To było pięknych parę lat.

This is one of my favorites also. This is the very first album i have bought of Chris de Burgh, therefore the very first song i heard coming from this album and have always cherished it. Thanks Chris not just for this wonderful song, but for making all the wonderful songs he has made and recorded for us.
Was the first time I saw Chris live and my first ever live concert. Grugahalle in Essen / Germany back in 1986/87. I was cute 16/17 years old (seems my Memory is fading slowly :-))and I still love his Music.
I always imagined this song being extended into a film. Like how Copa Cabana was dramatised. This would have been great if the video incorporated period costume (WWI or WWII) to south west England or perhaps southern US. It is possible to imagine a small town celebrating the return of soldiers but with a population small enough to track down a single soldier from the battalion or regiment of that area. Britain and Canada have regional units derived from where the recruits are drawn from. This could have been much more visually. The video is ok, but seeing a few fishing boats moored in a quiet Irish harbour overlooks the enormity of the moment.
