Erik, are you sure you’re not a clairvoyant?? The accuracy in what you say is phenomenal it’s beyond psychic abilities. I always ask myself “how does this guy get it so well??” And from so many perspectives all across the board of 16 personality types all with their tri-types. Pure genius!!
Me too ahhhh it’s like I trade off on the fears at diff times but I have both fears strongly. I also find myself wanting to be in the background and away from spotlight sometimes and other times wanting to be in the spotlight. I have had periods of over sharing and others of being overly private. I wrestle with myself about my past at a lot but also in the moment blowing things out of proportion and the urge to move or isolate or “do it on my own”. I relate with both the ESFP and ENFP so much but I guess I am ENFP bc I think I have a stronger intuition decision making over sensing and according to my human design and other tests my intuition is very high or my life purpose so I think that would be ENFP.
My mom is an ESFP. She's an Aries. She was an Actress for over 20 years and she could light up the room at any party she went to. I'm an ENFP and a triple Cancer. I was building sets and working back stage. I'm a professional Muralist. These two personalities definitely describe me and my mom.

We're similar in some ways, but also extremely different (he resists time alone, but I have to have it in order to think). I appreciate your analysis that doesn't make either of us look like clowns, unlike many MBTI descriptions. I certainly tend to massage situations so that people act in the way that I want them to. (It's not manipulation if it's for their own good, right?!) He definitely seeks the spotlight. Even from a baby, he could charm the world. He loves people, and they love him for it. He lives in this bubble of friendliness, it's amazing to watch.
The fears of the types were really what made my decision. I have traits of both types but when you began listing the fears and questions of ESFP I felt like someone wrote out any anxious thought I'd ever had. (I related to ENFP, too, but not nearly as strongly).

Wow erik! You explain things so well! Your explanations are spot on. I recently met someone at work and as an enfp immediately vibed with them. I started wondering, are they an enfp? But they seemed to be more energetic and impulsive than me so I thought esfp. I asked them to take the test and they got esfj but I still think they may be an esfp. Anyway one thing that I find remarkable is this person reads me so well. Without saying anything they can tell if I am nervous/anxious or excited/happy where others are either not easily able to discern that or are not forthcoming with communicating that. You are so right that an esfp makes you feel seen and understood. Such a good feeling! Also as an enfp it is so true that I like to direct a situation from behind the scenes. I dont like the spotlight but people assume I do. It's that unicorn/pixie energy. Others are fascinated by some energy they see in me but I just want to roam around the magical wood and observe people from a private nook. But if they see me I will be friendly and interact lol :)
Wow!! This video is the best video on the difference between esfp @ enfp. It seems like people have a hard time telling the difference between esfp & enfp. I have been typed by twfp as esfp. He still believes I’m esfp. But through careful introspection I’m really not esfp but enfp. I totally identify with feeling like I don’t fit in especially with most groups. I think esfps don’t seem to have that problem. And there’s a multitude of reasons why I identify more with enfp than esfp. The problem with these two types is on the surface they look very similar. Ne & Se are both manifests themselves spontaneously in the real world but in different ways.
I'm between the 2 types but resonate with both fears. I'm not super clear on direction and I also tend to be fearing discipline and being overly analytical of my past.

A lot of the time, people who are very similar argue a lot because they are building their identity as opposites to the other person, trying to establish identity and boundaries. :)
Erik Thor That's true! My aunt and I are both INFPs and we definitely used to argue a lot when I was younger. We both have very strong opinions but it always seems to be the opposite opinion of one another! I guess when we see the worst of ourselves in someone else, we can be more critical towards them. Im enfp, sister is esfp, we struggle to communicate. I feel like im her cheerleader shes a loud bully. She would say, i talk too much and i say, she never responds. She says idn listen, but i do listen intently if she has a true need. Day to day stuff, what to eat, chores, etc., my mind sometimes wanders to abstract land.😂😂😂 if i could build a real house in abstract land i would. My sister is more concerned with what to eat, what to buy, what to wear, where to go. I am more interested in worldviews, bigger picture stuff, generating new ideas, brainstorming. We both like to explore nature(me way more)both caring, love animals,giving(she gives more things, i give time and emotional support), she can try to be supportive,(she can't find words) she just can't be my cheerleader around others because it takes her out of the spotlight( even if i have a great idea) I feel shutdown by her loudness and in the past just retreat. She feels more comfortable letting people help her, she takes more from people than i would. Im way more independent, i can go on trips alone, explore nature alone. She always has someone around to help her. I call her a grape eater( you know when fed grapes in an old movie or fanned with palm branches) 😂😂😂 she would love it. I would not want to be served in this way, i would feel really creepy(to act so superior), i would have to feed the server a grape. 😂😂😂 My siser agrees, she would actually love being fed!!😂😂😂 Sorry i wrote a small book, it just, we need help, i also hope this helps someone else. As enfp yes.. I always read people well. I can compare to other.. While they don't have a clue of what are the real intentions of other towards them I always instead suggest them what other intentions other have towards them.. And they however get clueless.. Asking me.. Why?you really think so? Amazed of how I show them how real intentions are

I doubt that you can be more than one type at once, but everything exists on a scale and it is hard to see where we fall from an objective point of view
What is the type that is very extroverted and won`t shut up, and speaks in very enthusiastic monologues? I know ENTPs do that but this particular person doesn`t seem to like speaking in abstract concepts, I think his intent is to keep you entertained but fails to ask you questions to keep the conversation going on both directions.

Eric I normally track with you but I don't know where you are going with this video and do not agree with your analysis on these two types. You have analyzed based upon the wrong functions and positions, ENFP & ESFP both have child Te. ESFP is Se Hero and Ni 4th function. ENFP is Ne Hero and Si 4th function. ENFP does not have Se in the top four functions. ESFP does not have Ne i the top four functions. - INTJ
I work with my own groupings where there are four hero functions, four parents, four child functions, and four rival or inferior functions, its a minor diff in interpretation.
