Quick Downtown Ottawa walk through on a rainy day. July 10, 2024

It's a slow, rainy week day in our nation's capitol, Ottawa, Canada. This is just a quick walk from one of the best streets to visit in Ottawa (Elgin), it is close to the parliament buildings. My Café is located pretty close to main tourist attractions in the city. I am feeling pretty lucky to be here and to have a shop setup in such a beautiful area. The number of people downtown is still very low, as you can see. The pandemic has affected this, and we have yet to see a proper recovery to our walking traffic. This city employs many, many federal and provincial government workers, and thus, restrictions and mandates had the most effect on our small capital. There have been multiple business closures, and large corporations receive much less support since the pandemic began. Quite an interesting mix of pros and cons to navigate on top of usual business challenges. My brother and I are "holding fast", and we thank you for your support ♡ #cafelife #cafestagram
