30 years ago i used to work in this Mall at the Fairweather Store . Now it's completely changed a lots and so am i a mother of 2 children . It brings back my Teenager memories .. 🥰 ✌🤞
I remember Fairweather which was a good store to buy clothes at a reasonable price. I also remember Bretton which was more expensive but had wonderful clothes. I miss Friday evenings in the food court downstairs in the 80s and 90s. There were all sorts of people, young and old. Great memories!
The only great thing I remember about that place was that wavy brick roof path and angled glass triangle roof, eventually security became a regular thing keeping us away.
I used to work in the food court during the summer when I was a teenager along with a lot of other High school students. The pay was crap but we had a blast fooling around during down time. I miss those carefree days.
I used to live in Ottawa when this mall first opened but seeing this it has changed greatly.I haven't been to Ottawa since 1996 and I lived there from 1975-1988.Neat to see it again.
I hung out in the Rideau Center many weekends in the late 80s and early 90s. My last visit to the mall was probably in 1995. This video showed how much it has changed. It looks quite different.
thank you so much for the video, i was nostalgic, i was here in 1998 for a school trip from france to canada, I remember only that there is going to be a shop with lots of fun things and jokes, a stand with lots of ice creams like we had never seen in France, and candy dispensers where there were little candies in the shape of orange, heart, bananas, the best sweets i have ever eaten
Beautiful tour of the Rideau Mall and the Dining Hall with great southing atmosphere for quick dinning. Love how you take care of sound problems. Your the best!

You missed the view of Rideau Street from the rooftop! I also like to "sneak" into the stairwells of the Chateau Laurier for some pretty rad views of the Senate Building and Major's Hill Park.
My high school prom was at the Chateau Laurier in 1981! I was about to hop a bus and go to the Byward Market and the Rideau Center... I'm over it. Going to stick closer to home...lol

I don't shop at malls with fancy expensive clothing and things. I go to Second-hand Stores to buy all my clothes. Saves me tons of $$$ and will continue to shop at used places.
Hi Johnny . Rideau Centre has definitely been upgraded & become more of a destination . Love the sky lights . Saks off 5th is reduced designer price store . Hope you bought a new pair of kicks . Mark (T.O.) 💙🌈
