This video will explain how Switch Works in Layer 2, not Layer 3, Even the network IP address are the same segment not able to reach the IP different the Layer 2 address. Layer 2 addresses will be segregated by VLAN.
VLAN - Virtual Local Area Network.
The Packet will be forwarded only to the same VLAN configured in the Ports, Broadcast packets will not forward to the different VLAN Ports even IP address segments are configured in the Same Network.
Clearly Proves Switch will work on Layer 2(MAC -address ), not by Layer 3(IP address).
