- Nick here! Today I`m doing the review of Bardsung Board Game! Designed by Steamforged Games, this is a new original dungeon crawl game IP that brings some new things to the table, like an innovative combat and fun character customization as well as a fun Bardsung Boss Battle.

I agree, it’s a slow start... But there seems to be such much potential that I’ll stick around. I have some friends who join me once a week and they don’t mind that I progress a bit without them. It does get faster as you become used to the system. Will you be doing a painting series??? 🙏

Very fair review. I had very similar experiences with this game. The lack of variety and length of the chapters really killed the game for me. Never got to see any of the cool enemies because I got way too bored of brigands, brutes and reavers. This seems like they padded length just to say "... a campaign spanning 50 hours!" Lots and lots of rules errors and way too big board was another big knock against it.
The exploration is evolution of d&d adventure system which started in 2010

I don't think its a slow start. The first chapters has around 3-4 dungeon to explore and each dungeon has you fighting around 3-4 groups of enemy. Its hardly long at all for dungeon crawler.
More latter chapter is eveb longer.
Also, Im ok with the variation of enemy. Sure in the same chapter the enemy is always the same, but it make sense right, you don't expect to suddenly find kobold in a goblin encampment. All in all of you have played dungeon crawler before i think Baedsung might be right up your Alley. If you have not played any, This might be a bit heavy to jump into the campaign. Thats why theres also oneshot adventure you can try
