- This might be the fastest documentation of an event I've every done...lol. When your son decides to go fishing and you get a call from the ER Nurses, you MUST hurry and get the memory documented! I have coupled some stamps and diectus from Stampin' Up! with the Lake Life Papers and Mix-In Collection to create this beautiful two-page layout. To make this layout even easier, I used the CDT 12x12 Sketchbook Vol 2 that debuted last month - you can find it linked below.

Ok. TY. I appreciate your response.
All the little attention to detail that you put into your layouts is so good. Love everything about this (well except the circumstances and what you and he went through). So many good little tips and tricks along the building of this.
Thank you so much, friend! Trying to keep up with all of y'all :0)
Oh no! I cannot imagine the pain he must have been out! I would have been freaking out. Prayers for a speedy recovery. One of these days, he’ll laugh when he tells this story, but…
I certainly can relate…one summer my youngest was at the ER 3 times!
Great layout, Katy. I love your pages. TFS..
He is doing amazing! You can barely even tell - he's having a hard time finishing the last 2 doses of antibiotic though...ugh. Our middle child broke so many bones they ran a test on his bones to see how fragile they were. Not fragile at all, he was just a very active teenager with no fear...lol
Oh, poor kid! I hope he's doing well now and recovering! Great layout, too 😃
Oh to be young and be able to bounce back from everything...lol. He's had twisted ankles that hurt worse than this he says...lol.
Oh my! Prayers for a speedy recovery.
Thank you! He's already almost fully healed - the 'hole' is almost closed up and looks like a freckle or something at this point. The hardest part is getting him to remember to take his antibiotics...smh
My husband was deep sea fishing back in February with his brother. I'm not sure how it happened, but my husband wound up with a hook in his finger. Alcohol may have been a factor...brotherly shenanigans was probably the rest. LOL Wishing your son a speedy recovery.
Thank you! My niece caught my sister's arm one time but the hook was small and the barb didn't go very deep so we were able to remove it by the river bank and poor some "alcohol" on it...lol
oh my gosh Katy I can so relate my boys cry wolf on me all the time too. And just this weekend my son was in a really bad head on collision and thank God he was OK. He was two hours away and I got a call telling me that his jeep was totaled and he was in the emergency room, and my first reaction was “yeah right!” And then I heardotgers in the S kground and knew he was telling the truth this mama got dressed real quick and ran into the emergency room two hours away!!! anyway your layout is great. I’m so happy that you scrapbooked a sad unbelievable event…even when not everything is happy in our lives. I also like scrapbooking the unusual and sad things too.
Oh no!!! I hope your son is okay and is healing! The things boys do is unbelievable sometimes...I'm sure medical staff is used to it!
Oh my goodness! Raising boys is not for the faint of heart! 😂 great layout, Katy!
DEFINITELY NOT for the faint of heart. I wish I had taken a photo of our oldest when he almost cut his tongue in half during a basketball game...I actually got faint on that one!
Fantastic layout, Katy. Love everything about it, the papers and your embellishments. Liked the tip for stamping on your
Veneer pieces! Enjoyed your process. ❤❤❤
Thanks so much, Eleanor!
I hope your son has a speedy recovery!
He's doing so good! You can barely even tell at this point...lol
That’s such a great mom thing to do, take a picture. Gotta document stuff like that. A great layout. Your son will appreciate it when he’s older maybe. Love your colour choices. I had this package in my cart, but I didn’t place my order right away and it was gone and I can’t get it now. Thanks for sharing.
I kept explaining that it was for his scrapbook...they seemed unphased so I'm sure they're used to it. The Lake Life is still available just not in the Workshop Kit....go grab it - so many outdoorsy things you can do with it!
OMG, your poor son! Glad he's ok. You did a great job documenting it.
Thank you! It was fun using those little fish and the 'good luck' sentiment(s) to document him about to be put under. TFW!
Omgawsh..this resonates with me and my Convention (and other) incidents documented because it's not all about the cute and funny...it's real life documented!
Healing 💙 🙏 for your son
definitely "real life"...lol
You win for the most creative way to use this paper 😂
That looks like it hurt, glad he is okay and you have the story documented. Boys!
"boys" is right...you know!
Great layout, I still can’t believe he did that. I do hope that he is ok. 😊
I can't believe it either...lol. He's doing amazing!
I hope your baby is doing well. This is a great story to document, especially you thinking this teen was pranking you! Great pages! 💚
Thank you so much!! He's doing really well...doctor told him no basketball practice for 3 days but he was up and at 'em the next day...lol
Ouch! That looks so painful. Hope he's recovering well!
He's back to 100% and won't even have a scar to tell about it...but I'll have this scrapbook layout...lol
Love the layout, I honestly not sure if I could have kept a straight face when walking in to see my son hooked up….im glad he’s ok! Great job on the layout
It was hard not laughing...I did tell him he's the dumbest smart kid I've ever seen...lol
I love this!! Crazy this just happened and you’ve already hit it scrapped!! I wanna see it in person!
It was right there on my table...I should've showed you!
Thank goodness when my husband tried that trick with his three pronged fishing hook he only got my upper arm & not my face. As it was we were in the middle of no where & so he dug it out of my arm with a blunt, rusty fishing knife!! Yes, it hurt as it had gone under a tendon but he managed to get it out & I had a first aid kit & so survived the ordeal with just a scar. He was more worried about his hook as it was his last one!! Lesson learnt, I never went fishing with him again as it is a dangerous sport for the onlookers, no matter how far away they are standing.
Certainly needed documenting as a future reminder that fishing can be a dangerous activity, A great double page layout.
Thank you, Louise! I saved the lure thinking he'd want to add another hook and use it but I think he's wanting it as a "trophy" for now...lol. Hooks can definitely be dangerous!
This is such a great layout and a great story! I hope he is ok!
He's doing so much better, Ronda...thank you!
I used to work organizing fishing competitions. While recording the weights of the fish people got, an older man walked up with three fish attached to some rope and hook in his cheek!!
OUCH....I literally cringed when I read this. Bless your heart having to deal with that!
Right! It didn’t look right. And of course he had to weigh his fish first!!!!
Great layout Katy! I love the story of your pictures. What a great story to look back on and laugh about but I’m sure you were not laughing in the moment! 😂
I'll laugh when the bill is paid off...lol
@@scrappinkaty well, if you don’t laugh about those, you will cry! 😂
Great layout Katy! I thought my boys would be the death of me! We had a similar incident, but in the thigh. I'm sure seeing that lure on his face was terrifying! I'm glad he's okay! #boymom
Boy moms are definitely built differently....lol. I'll keep you posted about the girl-mom part...I hear that doesn't kick in until 16 or 17...ugh
Hi Katy. Love this page! What a story he has to tell! Curious about where I can find those wooden elements! Thank you.
Thank you, Connie! Those are old CTMH wooden embellishments. If I come across any extras, I'll let you know!
Boys! Lol😅 I made a similar trip to the ER when my son hooked himself removing a treble hook from a salmon. It thrashed and sent the hook not his hand. Ouch!
I'm envisioning a salmon thrashing and can imagine how that went down with the hook.
Lots of great added details! OMG, that photo makes me cringe!😮😮
He was such a trooper. He wanted them to pull it out while he was awake but there was just no way. That are doesn't have a lot of nerve in it so I think the putting him under was more for the doctor removing it (and us watching) than it was for him. I had to look away a time or two.
@@scrappinkaty I can imagine! I would too!
Oh dear!
Definitely not what I wanted to get a call about but it could've been so much worse so I'm thankful!
Poor guy!!!
I'm happy to report he's much better and it's almost fully healed!
