Here’s an opinion from someone who’s owned a few of these, currently owns one and has spend almost half his life working on em. 428 CJ with a 4 speed toploader manual, get a front coilover setup with tubular upper arms with a shelby built in, tubular lowers, big sway bar, 355 gears at least, keep manual steering and brakes, less issues. Just get a quick ratio box with a quick ratio pitman arm. Also pro tip: pedal feel highly depends on master cylinder bore size. Mine feel pretty close to power brakes due to my cylinder size. Drop it an inch in the rear either with lowering blocks or reverse eye springs and put some meats on those wheels and these cars can drive and handle EXTREMELY well
Keep it old school! You already have the modern engine. You’ll appreciate both the modern and the classic this way! With the right heads and cam you should be able to get close to 600HP out of that motor.

I used to be into Mustangs when I was young and now in my thirties I have gotten the bite again. I found my dad's old 05 Mustang GT. It's modded and he used to race it at the drag strip when the guy I bought it from him but dad bought n 06 he liked. The buyer drove it home and it has sat for 2 and a 1/2 years! Thankfully he drain the gas and unplug the battery. It's got dust and leaves all over it lol but after the battery and some gas we started it and it ran like it never sat at all. Your videos definitely help a lot with motivation!
Please do the 428! The sound would just be so much more fitting than the voodoo, you might get more power with the voodoo but power isn’t everything when it’s a classic!!!!
Believe me, you will not be disappointed with this swap. I put a 428 cobra jet into a 67 Mustang GT, that had a tired 390 cubic inch engine and it was awsome! Because I started with a big block mustang, it was a straight bolt up to the bell housing. Make sure, your traction lock is rebuilt.
