This storm went on for weeks in Charleston. Ice all over the roads Cooper River Bridges closed . School was out for weeks. Airport closed.. it would start to warm up and the ice would start melting and then it would drop again and then became frozen. A guy skied down the Cooper River bridge!

I've heard my parents and my grandmother talk about it many times but to actually see, and hear, the news reports... It's awesome! But, obviously not so awesome to have dealt with it...

I was driving in Tennessee during this storm, and went too fast on a curve, ended up in a ditch. Local neighbor helped me and friends out with using the phone to call a tow. January 1973. This little Auricon film package is real cool, the footage holds up quite well.

I remember this. I lived in Smoaks in Colleton county and the snow was up to my hips. I was 13. It was WONDERFUL not going to school for 3 weeks. I got picked on every day. I was glad to be home :)

Even had 6-8 inches that close to the coast.
First time I saw snow.
