Im Indonesian, I wish the flooding of foreigner in Bali can bring direct positive impact to local ppl. At least help their economic even tho just a little, i e buy local products, eat at local resto, your little care will bring so much happiness for them.
i am balinese and had to work outside the island , all the work I could find in the island is minimum wage and Bali is the among lowest minimum wages in the country
During the pic of Covid-19, I worked from home for 2 months and half in a villa in Bali in Seminyak. It was a villa in a compound but it seemed like a private villa with big swimming pool, big garden and lot of trees. Due to the lockdown, the monthly price was around USD 400
I have been following two Americans who spent time in Bali on their channel, Patricia and Matt Travel. It was very reassuring to her you talk about both the quality and price of the food in a different culture. Thank you.
I went to Bali go solo for my birthday last year and it was amazing!!❤❤ I can’t wait to go back and I definitely have plans to live there for a few months!
I did exactly that stayed one month during three month tour south east Asia following year I stay 2-3 months Bali alone only fly to Singapore for a day as visa expired returned following day
Traffic in Bali is horrendous for anything other than a scooter - huge amounts of development but the roads are still the same size especially in somewhere like Ubud
after living here for over one year i can say that it's cheaper to cook at home just need to know where to shop, switching from Pepito to the Bintang store can save you as much as 40 %. Also when it comes to accommodation finding a villa that is great for living it very difficult under 2k. Since most of the villas are built as holiday houses. Open kitchens are great but not ideal :D and most of the villas are lacking proper work/chill areas.I guess after a while here I started to look at things differently. Bali is still a great place and very affordable compared to other cities in Europe. Enjoy your time here, definitely spend some time in Uluwatu and Ubud just to compare the lifestyle, etc
Congrats on having your first hit video🥳 Love the use of different locations to film so it's not just 1 talking head video the entire time. Looks like the extra work has paid off! (also YT knows I'll be in Bali on Sunday and knew to show this to me)
I traveled there to do some work for Viceroy some years ago. (I am a photographer). While shooting, something made me sick for over a year. Not sure if it was a bug or other. It essentially was like what "long covid" people talk about now but this was about 5 years ago. The. traffic, bugs, and this sickness has made me re-think Bali as a long term living situation. That said, there are many great things about living there for a young digital nomad. Low cost living and a great community. BTW. Love your Villa.
Yes, the imported cost will have equal impact to both grocery price as well as restaurant' food price. Having said that, I don't believe that eating out is cheaper than cooked food at home. The price for eating out is still more expensive than cooked food at home. Marginally, albeit. The reasons for this is because of (1) the cheap labor cost of the cook and waitress and (2) highly competitive restaurant business in Bali so restaurant owner can only charge bare minimum profit.
Her perception is common for her generation. If her friends were shopping at a local wet market, the prices would be quite a bit less expensive than the supermarket. Normally eating out is three times more expensive than buying the ingredients at the market and cooking them at home. She is incredibly naive.. OBTWI have lived in Thailand for 8 years. That same restaurant meal that she ate would be $8. We have found the prices at Bali have gone almost double post pandemic.
Have you ever tried local Balinese or indonesian food? I would agree that there is a huge variety of all western style food available in bali, the western style supermarkets are pretty expensive so dinning out is a good option if you prefer that type of food. I enjoyed your video thanks
My mom recently got arthritis, and were living in Canada (it’s cold asf and that makes arthritis worse), anyways she’s from Jakarta and we’re moving to Bali im kinda excited ??
Amazing channel Eda, I already know you guys from via infinda, that's another approach to your life, love both channels, I'm thinking in living as digital nomad
Dine out as much as possible. Cost of lunch and dinner as you point out, cheaper than cooking. More importantly every time you step into a cafe or restaurant many locals benefit. To handover a $10 tip means so much to these people and everything they earn goes to the support of their families. Being generous in Bali is very easy to do in comparison to what have here. ✌️🇦🇺
Try learn Indonesian language and try Indonesian food 😁 they same like rice table menu at Holland-amsterdam for your info there is Canadian youtuber which is fluent of Indonesian language her name is Sacha Stevenson 👍
Thank you for sharing. What is the medical system like and spare they welcoming to care for foreigners who are elderly and need a lot of medical attention?
Thank you so much for this awesome video!❤️🦋🌿 I am going to be moving to Bali soon and would love to start chatting to some people in the area prior to arriving. You were speaking about Facebook and Whatsapp groups - how do we find and join these? And is there another way you would recommend connecting with people beforehand? Thanks in advance and perhaps even looking forward to meeting you in Bali!💓💖
Bali is a great holiday destination and slowly getting back on its feet after Covid. I admire your enthusiasm about living there; yes much cheaper than UK, and anywhere else in the developed world! How are you planning to sustain this lifestyle? I found some of the costs much dearer than here in Australia; eating out is not as cheap as it was even 3 years ago. A lot of the restaurants are now charging Western prices, which will not encourage tourists to come back. Good luck with your adventure.🙃😀
I loved Bali, but I don’t know if I will ever go back. The traffic is too much. It took “3-Hours” to get through immigration. That’s really my only con.
Hey sweet video! Was just wondering what you do for remote work to live out here? Looking to make the move out there & trying to get some ideas for entry level jobs i can get remotely to support myself while pursuing my passions? Also wondering what visa you got to be able to move there? Thanks!
With the direction the housing market has gone in the US and other western countries, my partner and I have decided to retire early in Bali. We don’t have children and don’t want them. W just don’t think it makes sense to break our minds and bodies for decades just to retire at 70, when everything hurts, in some tiny condo in Florida packed in like sardines with others who wasted their prime years.
Hey Dear! A friend just send me your link because she moved from uk to indonesia 🇮🇩 and I really enjoyed your video!!! You got my support and a sub here!!
yes, a lot of stuffs are a lot less comparing to USA or EUROPE countries but again wages in BALI also a lot lower. Keep in mind not everything in BALI are cheap, once you go to place like the ROCK BAR foods and drinks are $$$$
Hi Currently looking for a villa in Canggu for about 1-2 months. Having a hard time finding one on Airbnb or Facebook group. Can you please reply and tell me how you found yours :)?
I'm curious. How do you get a 3 month visa? Do you have a sponsor when applying for a visa? .................................................. This is my advice if you want to live comfortably in Indonesia. If you have 1 million dollars, buy Indonesian government securities (bonds). With ownership of that value, the interest you get every month is enough to finance your life luxuriously every month without you having to go to work every day. Renew the bond when it matures. Also don't forget to buy health insurance for your safety. Buy pure health insurance that provides benefits with an annual limit without an inner limit.
Subscribed, I've just done the same thing! We're staying in Munggu/Cemagi to get a little bit out of the way of central Canggu but so far, loving it!!! If you're looking to meet up with anyone, give me a shout. Me and my boyfriend are definitely looking for people to do double dates with.
Do you have links to where you lived? just to even look at them or see what is available or not avaialble? Also How are the Mosquitos?? truly that is my only concern! I need Real Perspective
u said that the reasons u moved in bali are: lifestyle and affordability. I'm based in Hong Kong since 2004 owning a company and i don't care about the "affordability". Does make sense for me moving for a few months a year from hong kong to Bali considering Bali a third world country right now? i would like to know your opinion. Can i buy a 2 bedroom villa in Bali? Are there classes where i can learn the Indonesian language? thx a lot PS. My 2 kids are 9 and 6 yrs old. The scooter cannot be an option. Driving a car means stuck in the traffic?
please come to Thailand. You will get blown away by the Thai food and other food options. Also the prices are comparable to Bali or even cheaper. I just went to Bali and it was quire underwhelming to be honest. Oh... and I hate Monkeys in Bali.
Sigh. Not another westerner acting like Bali is some undiscovered paradise. Legit every influencer has a bali video, this isn't something we haven't all seen over and over again.
Thank you very much for this amazing video! I subscribed😊 I hope to be your friend😊 I just think it's time for Bali 🏖️ to cut down some zeros from their currency. Like 4 zeros. So instead of 200,000 for lunch it's 20 😊❤
I have lived in Bali for years, and worked with my rock band in Jakarta, but I keep it a secret because I don't want everyone to know how to live there cheaply.
The comments are pretty brutal. I did recently spend three weeks in Bali and it was overrun by foreigners/tourists. Some chill areas like Sanur and Amed not ruined...yet.

I'm definitely thinking about moving there!
I’m American when I travel even in America I try to help locals as much as possible and respect local culture.
It’s not all about your privileged life in Bali, look at the culture around you.
This comment made me love Indonesia more

@@putumare4110 Many Balinese in Java are known as medical doctor or (rural) bank director. Better than staying in Bali.

Food prices are great, although villas are on the up for sure :)
I travelled to Bali earlier this year and miss it soo much! Such a beautiful place with amazing food and culture!
Answer please
How did you find your villa *which website * and how did you pay for it before arriving or after

Wouldn't your argument about export costs of grocery store food also apply to the restaurants that buy the same exact food?
