When I met my husband, I didn’t leave her alone with him until we were engaged and married. This was five years later. I also taught my son and daughter that no one was allowed to touch them where their bathing suits were covered and that no grown-up asks a child to keep a secret or ask a child for help.

    Let's use facts not emotions.
    At 12:57 you show us what a quote from what Maddie's friend told the police officer.
    Do you think it is more likely the friend was telling the truth or telling a lie to the police?
    If you agree the friend was telling the truth, then you have to deal with what Jennifer said to the friend: "What do you mean? We dropped her off close to school."
    On its face Jennifer is telling at least one lie - Jennifer was in bed and knows that she did not drop Jennifer off and knows that it was untrue for her to use the word "we".
    Jennifer could easily have said one of the three alternative phrases which would have been true:
    "Stephan dropped her close to school"
    "Stephan told me he dropped her close to school."
    "As far as I know Stephan dropped her close to school. "
    But Jennifer did not use the truthful versions. She chose to use the untrue version to tell the friend.
    The question then is why did Jennifer lie to the friend?
    It does not make any sense on your theory that Jennifer had no knowledge that Jennifer was already dead not just missing.
    If you are looking for a missing person you have no reason to lie about the last time you were in the car with the missing person.

      Her school wasn’t the closest to their home. She was in a different school that they said was a better school. So she may have not had bussing option to that school. Mom supposedly dropped her at school normally according to Maddie’s friend and not down the street. But I don’t think walking nor bus were options maybe. Just a guess.

    You seriously think Jenn’s actions were those of a woman who knew nothing about her daughter’s disappearance? Wtaf?! Besides the fact that her general behaviour screams guilt … The excess comforting of her EX boyfriend over Madeline’s disappearance, as she herself showed minimal concern and exhibited the body language of a liar was SICKENING … She lied about who took Madeline to school and about seeing/hearing her at their house in morning, well after Madeleine was dead … she sat at the school in the one spot for an hour and quarter after school finished before deciding to start looking and calling around … 🤔… she drove around looking for her just before 5pm for a full FIVE minutes. Wow - she must’ve been very worried to put that huge effort in. (Reminds me of Trezell West looking for the two little adopted boys.) Why call the police to her mother’s work? Probably to keep police away from their house … Jenn’s late admission about knowing that her 13 year old daughter slept in the same bed WITH her ex was an effort to partly explain the photos on Sterns phone to try to cover for herself.
    I truly hope you don’t have a daughter who is ever in the sights of a predator bc you are way off. No ”women’s intuition” needed here - it’s just painfully obvious that this woman was aware of who was responsible for Madeline’s murder. Not protecting her in the years leading up to her murder is absolutely ABHORRENT. She needs to be thoroughly investigated and, imo, charged.
    Having said that I actually think you believe Jenn knew exactly what had happened, as the rest of us do. I think you took this stance to generate discussion (comments, liking comments etc) to advance this video. Even tho that’s what I think I still had to comment ☺️bc you pissed me off, but you still got those extra comments, as planned. IMO.
    😆/😡

      What happened to this child is abhorrent and Stefan's actions were abhorrent and are correctly now being processed through the criminal justice system. I think you're over estimating Jen's capacity. Sure, she maybe she's shown herself as someone whose judgement isn't safe to have duty of care for a child. If another child was at risk by being with her, then CPS would likely need to intervene either to provide support (parenting classes, advice, visits, etc) or to remove said child. But as there isn't another child at risk it's a moot point. There's a lot of people with capacity and capability problems looking after kids but generally it's intervention rather than criminal action that is provided.

    Great Gray by putting the pings and car movements of SS & JS together simultaneously. This would be a good video for ones following case to see. imo, until proven otherwise, JS may not have been the best mom, but i dont think she had any knowledge of what SS had done to Madeline, including her death. He groomed both if them i think. The one time she said he was there when she got home, i give her the benefit of a doubt. She was distraught over Madeline being missing and she could have just been confused, imo. Thanks to all who watched and supported channel. Give a 👍!!

      I agree that Sterns probably did groom both of them, but I doubt it took Jenn long to take up the challenge. On the other hand poor little Madeline wanted to go live in the woods… It’s heartbreaking to imagine what this poor little child went through for all of those years - at very least since she was 8 - over a third, almost HALF of her entire short life! And her mother had no idea? Come ON!! 🙄 I think the idea of the pathetic mother being oblivious is ridiculous.

      Yup, GO TO THE SCHOOL! They don't close as soon as school dismisses. Generally, in this case starting the day later, would have at least admin staff there till 5p. My mom worked in schools 30+ years and summers were spent helping her with admin tasks, at the school, summer school, etc. Her Principal allowed her to bring us. They were 8 hour plus days. This is long in order to explain how I know. Baffles me that she didn't park her car, get out, and go inside the school. The school should've contacted Jenn or whomever is the guardian, even an automated call, once a student is absent without an excuse. I'm in California, just geo fyi.

    • @elizabethtovar3603
      @elizabethtovar3603 15 днів тому

      Right. No mother would email anyone. She would run in and bang on doors until someone answered. She would call the person that dropped off the child to ask if her child was for sure at school that day. We all know schools don’t close the minute the parents pick up kids. There are too many after school events, sports and teachers grading and principals working and janitors cleaning, etc.,.
      I was always at school until 5:30. That’s just the way the job is. And, expected.
      AND... the school sent an email to notify Jenn that Maddie wasn’t at school. Jenn says she wrote emails, but didn’t check them.
      Mother’s know when their children are disturbed about something going on.
      Women know when their partner is watching porn. Very few men even feel the need to hide that. And, some couples watch it together.
      No mother would send their preteen daughter to bed with an ex boyfriend. Or, a boyfriend. Or, a step father knowing this. It’s just not done.
      Justice for Madeline.

    The whole thing of schools contacting parents about no shows by pupils was established originally in response to concerns about truancy, as opposed to being a safeguarding response. That's why some schools do it later in the day - because the primary reason was to let the family know they hadn't attended, rather than being a safeguarding alert as people assume. You are responsible for your child getting safely to school, the school is responsible once they have arrived. The call system obviously is a useful safety net but it wasn't designed with that in mind originally, and many schools would need to tweak their systems to make it so. And actually the responsibility for them getting there safely still remains with you as a parent.

    You know instinctively watching her that she's a little cognitively challenged,(for whatever reason - medication, current mental stress, even maybe a developmental delay - who knows). If Madeleine hadn't been murdered but the SA had come to the attention of the authorities, then Stefan would have been quite rightly carted away by the police but Jennifer would have,been unlikely to meet the the threshold for criminal charges, or to meet the public interest threshold for charging that is often considered. If she had another child then there'd be CPS activity to protect that child as she's shown that there's concern about her abilities to keep a child safe. But there isn't another child and being careless, challenged at likely doesn't meet criminal criteria or be considered in the public interest. Is my guess, anyway.

  • @juliew1824
    @juliew1824 15 днів тому +3

    I think what it will end up being is a social care (CPS) issue. I don't think she knew he'd done it but I do think she took negligent risks around the SA by most people's standards and I think there's a strong argument that she should have known, even if she didn't perceive herself to know. But actually most cases of that level would result in criminal action against the abuser but intervention with the negligent parent, which might mean taking the child into care. But as sadly the child is dead, that obviously can't happen. There was talk of a brother in which case there might be intervention for a sibling, but I think the brother might have been this lodger.
