Great video, however i feel you could've explained polling rate better, so if anyone is still lost, listen up. Say you had a 1Hz polling rate. That means once a second, the controller would report back to your computer what you pressed within that 1 second. The higher your polling rate is, the more frequently your controller reports back to your computer what you input. This kinda indirectly reduces lag the higher your polling rate is. Hope this helped, and great video nonetheless!
Everything over 1k hz polling rate is useless, 4 example 8k hz from ps5 Controller just shows 8times the same latency so its placebo and 8times more "work" for your PC.
The definition of Hz is one 'event' per second, not per millisecond. So, 1Hz is 1 event per second; for 1 event per millisecond, that would be 1000Hz, aka 1KHz (one kilohertz).
There's a special feeling when you know that the work helped people, from all around the world too! Wow, thanks this comment make my day, if not my week!!
Consider some kind of dpad test, I play alot of old resident evil games and PS1 games, speed runs etc and ive been looking for a decent dpad for a long time. It would be great to also have a controller that is good all round. Not to mention fighting games which you need a decent d pad for. Maybe a metric you could use is smushy vs clicky and accuracy
Great suggestion, I'm definitely looking to make more videos like these and I'll keep your suggestion as one to dive deeper in, thank you, any more great ideas like that? 🤗
I have a question. My Gamesir Nova will be arriving in few days, and i will be just playing it mostly on PC games. What's the standard polling rate of it on PC? Is it 125hz or 500hz?
So wired on the PC mode, it does go up to 500hz. On Switch mode, 125hz. In other words, just make sure to always connect in X-input and you'll be fine. Cheers!
Man I've watched like billions, if not trillions, of reviews and none talked about the Gamesir Nova Lite. I honestly was looking for a good mid range controller that wouldn't cost a kidney and I think I' ve found it. Thank you my man, I've like the video and subscribed to the channel.
I would love to know how the polling rate was measured as I hate to have to depend on a dongle but the gamesir nova lite seems all around the best for me having Hall effect joysticks. If the latency dips a lot when paired with Bluetooth that would affect my choice
Using Gamepadla's software. That said, if you want optimal dongle latency performance on a budget, the 8BitDo 2C is your best bet. Nova Lite has higher latency but to me it is still absolutely acceptable. It all comes down to what you wish to prioritize, cheers!
I have thousands of bucks worth of purchases spanning many years back, i generally dont have any issues with sellers, but when i did i never had any issue with aliexpress, the only issue with the platform is that its slow, if you cant return a product you need to wait for 30days to repeal to then talk to support to wait for 1-20 days for the refund to go to your bank, and shipping is 6 days for the controller, but 80 usd shipped to france on a trusted company, ill take my chances.
That's why I personally have no problems buying on Ali, much like you I've bought thousands over the years, this one time was hopefully a one off and the issue was really not Ali, it was the vendor, I just couldn't get through to customer service somehow. As in I would literally reply and they said they would close the request number because I didn't respond... Like 4 times in a row. Anywho, I got it fixed through my bank.
I have a dualsense and I have overclocked it for half a year at this point, how do you get those numbers to test it overclocked at 1000 polling rate myself?
I warned during the beginning explanation that overclocking is a thing and that I have not used overclocking for these results at all. I also put a link to an app for people interested in trying for themselves. Thanks for pointing out how great overclocking can be in the right conditions, as a PSA, results may vary.
@@GameTechTalk I ended up testing my overclocked Dualsense to 1000hz with gamepadia, here are the results in case you want to know: Dualsense Overclocked to 1000Hz: -------------------------------------------------------- Polling Rate Max.: 1000 Hz Polling Rate Avg.: 994.77 Hz Stability: 99.48% === Synthetic tests === Minimal latency: 1.0 ms Average latency: 1.01 ms Maximum latency: 2.0 ms Jitter: 0.07 ms I also use Ds4windows since the game I use my pad on, doesn't natively support dualsense, here are also the results of the emulated ds4: Emulated DS4 - DS4 windows: -------------------------------------------------------- Polling Rate Max.: 1000 Hz Polling Rate Avg.: 991.64 Hz Stability: 99.16% === Synthetic tests === Minimal latency: 1.0 ms Average latency: 1.01 ms Maximum latency: 2.0 ms Jitter: 0.09 ms I gotta say I am impressed on how good overclocking my dualsense turned out to be, it even beats the dualsense edge (maybe overclocking that one is even crazier)
Which one would you recommend Easysmx X10 or Gamesir T4 Cyclone Pro ? For PC will use with FC25 both as the same price both from ONLLINE retail no warranty ?
I'd say overall the PS5 controller is a superior option out of the bunch but the EasySMX X10 is no slouch and unless you play a lot of Sony exclusives (and a handful of other titles), the Dualsense exclusive features will fly past you.
They are both as good in terms of performance, you just trade some things, Nova has RGB and HD Rumble. Nova Lite has analog triggers and an included dongle. I wouldn’t stress too much about it, especially if playing wired, as long as those triggers don’t bother you. Cheers!
a little confused between dualsense and Microsoft Xbox Series X/S Wireless. I'll be using it for fighting games(little competitive ) and rpg games mostly.can you please help??
It's a fairly tough call but I'd go Dualsense. The Series X/S really have a phenomenal D-Pad, so does the Dualsense though but it's mainly the fact that the D-Pad on the Dualsense being top left just feels better fighted for fighting games in general. Plus, you have nicer rumble and adaptive triggers if ever you play a game that supports that feature. The trackpad might come in handy too on the PC and a little secret that most people don't know, the Dualsense actually has a truckload of convenient shortcuts when used with Steam on PC, like lowering and increasing volume. I hope this helps!
@@abinashbarik1832 Still the Dualsense, in fact the Nova Lite shares more DNA to the Series X/S but one thing to note is the Nova Lite is a fraction of both controllers. So if budget is no objection, I'd still say Dualsense. If that extra money is better in your pocket, the Nova Lite simply can't be beat in terms of value and that still rings true now as it did when I made this video.
Where does the 8bitdo Ultimate 2C rank? 29.99 1000 hz polling rate over 2.4g and wired No back paddles (nothing to fall out) L4/R4 front bumpers Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings. Wired only version is 19.99
Ouf, that's a tough ask but I'd go Stadia. It's such an underrated controller and it's obvious Google had greatly studied latency because it really performs beautifully. Also, the more time flies by, the less likely it'll be to find one, I'd secure that one today and if you feel like owning the Nova Lite in a couple weeks, you can still buy it hassle free!
They are both great in their own rights but if I could summarize in a sentence, I’d say the Apex 4 is better for immersion and shooters where as the Vader Pro is better for platformers, metroidvanias and Soulslike. Cheers
hi, could you help me ? I still play with my xbox 360 controller on PC and I want to change it, I only play RPGs and action games (god of war, marvel spiderman, final fantasy, nier automata etc), nothing competitive/fps, do you recommend an xbox core controller or another one ? I have heard very good things about apex 4 and vader 3 pro (although on the vader 3 pro I don't like the extra buttons)
Quite frankly, you seem to have pretty standard needs out of a controller and no specific ones for all the extra fluff. That is why my recommendation is none of the products you mentioned but rather, go with the Nova Lite. You would be shocked at how good (yet regular) that it is. It comes with a dongle, it has no extra buttons but seemingly you don't need it. It's just a very humble, and stupidly amazing quality for the price, game controller. It outperforms a plethora of other ones on the market. If you don't care for analog triggers, I'd recommend the Nova because that would then give you HD rumble and could be a fun thing to experience in your games. I have a 2-in-1 review of both controllers on my channel, that should be a great assistant for you to see if they are products for you! Edit: Just to clarify, the Apex 4 and Vader 3 Pro are phenomenal, but they do sound like overkill for what your needs are, you won't really have much benefits past just being good reliable products but their prices include a whole lot more.
Hi great video. Im new to controller for PC. Need some advice. I want to play Resident evil 4 and final fantasy 7 and remake and God of War on Steam PC can you recommend if i shud buy the sony dualsense or xbox controller? Please recommend me something not extremely expensive but great price to experience controller. Im used to playstation controller compared to xbox. But i want to make sure best compatilibility for those Steam games. Thank you so much! Subscribed!
I would get the Sony Dualsense if you are into these amazing haptics and adaptive trigger. To me, they completely add to the overall experience. If you don't care for those, and want something inexpensive, I stand by the fact that you can't go wrong with the Nova Lite. But if you want to spend a bit more for the best "symmetrical stick" solution, I would strongly suggest that you hold off a couple days to grab the GameSir Tarantula. I can't speak much on it as it's under embargo but believe me, it's worth the wait.
Please compare the easysmx X05 vs the X15 and 8Bitdo ultimate 2C 🙏🙏 i'm so torn as to which one to get, as a racing gamer I want the x15 for the back paddles but I don't know if the 8bitdo or x05 are plain better options that are worth ignoring the x15
500 bucks is far more than needed. I’d say pick one of the three: Dualsense Edge Apex 4 Vader 4 Pro My review on the Vader 4 Pro will be coming shortly hopefully
@@loitersquadX latency can be matched on both but the Apex 4 will do it over 2.4ghz, which is impressive on its own. Apex4 will win in terms of features and I’d say quality but the Apex4 is currently having defects being addressed by a lot of controller heads like me. I haven’t had issues but it might be a gamble for the time being. Oh and also, the G7se has native support on Xbox, the Apex 4 doesn’t.
@@GameTechTalk okau thanks so much. I subbed to the channel. I bought the g7se and its coming tomorrow. But after watching reviews i had doubts. So if theres any way u can make a video and declare a "winner" where price doesnt matter itll be much appreciated. Another thing is i heard g7se is hard to aim with so if u can adress thatt
At this point in time, I can't really say as I haven't tested it to be honest but I'm working on visiting the entire X line in a couple of days/weeks so stay tuned for that video, I'll make sure to address the compatibility with various operating systems and devices. Cheers! :)
@@GameTechTalk good to hear Would love to hear it, i do love my telescopic controller but im the kind of guy who can't live without his chunky phone case (otterbox)
which should i buy EasySMX X10 or gamesir nova lite. is haptic or adaptive triggers are much better in x10. in my country x10 is exactly double the price of nova lite. Your video are relly helpful🔥🔥
Happy to help friend! The X10 is a great controller, so is the Nova Lite but they belong to two different weight class is what I believe. The Nova Lite is simple, humble and reliable. No fuss, it just works. The X10 on the other hand is at the a higher tier of quality and expectations out of a controller, something more premium but entry level. I think they both a great options in their respective weight class but if money is no object, the X10 is definitely the better product. Cheers!
idk why modern controllers struggle so mutch with polling i have a keyboard of 4k polling and i seen a lot of keyboards that are dead stable at 1000hz .
Because the keyboard is connected via wires, and thus is able to draw power from the pc continuously. It doesn't worry about running out of power. The higher the polling rate, the higher the battery drain -- so, for controllers, it could be the difference between having batteries that last 1 month vs 1 week, depending on polling rate.
I do not own one. I’m sure they have benefits to them but in the “in-depth” testing communities of gamepads, they do not have the best reputation. One for hardware easily breaking and second for having internal performance that are often sub-par and not overclockable. Google “Scuf polling rate”, you’ll see what I mean. I don’t think it’s the only thing that makes a good controller and I’d love to review their product in the future but I am not at the point that I would spend 250 on one and probably never will with solutions like Apex 4 on the market. Cheers!
Thank you for the reply the emvision pro is 179 right now. One thing I’ve had my eyes on then about is the swappable sticks, side buttons, the G buttons also makes for a very versatile controller.
what software did you use to test the latency and polling rate? cause some other reviews of GameSir Nova Lite and they mentioned the latency is a big issue of this gamepad, kinda confused
Here is the problem with latency and an overall "complaint of controller communities", no matter the review, no matter the tools, there is really no 100% way to know what *your* specific latency is going to be. What I mean by that is sure, you have button latency right? But then you have radio latency (if used wirelessly), even "wired" has latency. That's the eternal debate of "analog vs digital". Digital is a signal that needs to be decoded on the other end, so why is that important? Well that decoding itself causes guess what? Extra latency. Latency from your USB host controller, latency from your operating system, and even latency from your game (for example if you have frame generation, vsync, triple buffering, etc on). When I play with the Nova Lite, I do not have any "terrible" latency issues, but I also know how to best utilize that controller. I also have hardware that gives me be the best outcome. For example, if you plug your controller into a cheap USB hub... Yup, you guessed it. It all adds up. All in all, take my review, and any other you watch as a point of reference, mash it all up and make yourself an informed decision. As for myself, I'd recommend the Nova Lite any time of day, it's super inexpensive, a great entry point into getting better and better controllers and by any measurable standard (done right) it packs amazing value in comparison to it's price point while still being considerably superior (or at least as good) to many options out there that are 1.5x to 2x the price. But if you were to ask me: "Nova Lite or Dualsense Edge", for sure I'd be telling you the Nova Lite is not up for that challenge, one is $20, the other is $200. I hope I illustrated a bit more how you should trust your research over the word of just one creator, and yes, that includes me! 😉
@@ShelyMB Honestlyy, I’d go for the Nova Lite. Its super reliable, super affordable and its a great entry into the hall-effect no drift controller solutions. Cheers!
@@GameTechTalk thanks for letting me Nova Lite is a good choice. I do need the controller that has the share button since I record things that way. Does the Nova Lite have the share button?
The Ultimate was part of the list if I recall no? And I will be making an updated list at some point after which I will make a new video, that one will include C and 2C.
I’m looking at apex 4 I’m from uk and can’t get it anywhere. Is Aliexpress a good/ reliable place to get one from? Amazon it’s $160 but on aliexpress it’s like £50 to £80?
Yeah they often get sold out, it's so stupid good. I have purchased many years over AliExpress. I'd say the reliability is as good as the product is. And that's the thing, shipping, customer service, it's usually a very positive experience (except that one time I describe in the video) but before that, I never had issues and I did have to connect with customer service a dozen of times over the years, never anything so drastic but they really do help and offer greater support for buyers. But yeah, the quality of the sellers and products is where it sometimes fall short. With that said, the product, I'd totally get behind it, the Flydigi Apex 4 is a very VERY robust piece of hardware and it's obvious that the company has well-placed pride in their products and quality. Personally, I wouldn't pay the extra inflated tax on Amazon and get it on Ali because it's that much more affordable.
@@GameTechTalk just picked myself one up! Just another question. The panels at the back of the controller, can they be used for either jumping or crouching on games like Cod? Like the Xbox elite controller??
@@iF3ARHD Yup they totally can, you map them the way you see fit. So if you want A for jump on one of them, go for it. Enjoy, it's a great product and would love to hear your feedback when you get it! :)
@@GameTechTalk thankyou for your reply! I look forward to using this competitively in warzone! I shall give an update when I get it Tuesday as I’m from uk it take a while for it to come
I didn’t test particularly but safe to say that any controller without PC software can’t do that and even the very few that do, say Turtle Beach, do not support that feature. I would think Dualsense might have a third party software to do that? Sorry I don’t have a better answer but I think you already named the two that do.
awesome video bro, I haven't decided yet, i have a dualsense edge, but i feel really uncomfortable with ps layout, 6 months with him, is amazing controller but i love xbox layout xbox series controller is perfect but polling rate and stick drift are trash.., so just for play fifa and nba 2k, i play rest of the games with keyboard and mouse, what is the best controller? i need really low latency cause fifa and 2k servers are trash, and i dont wanna feel more delay.. thank you :)
Just to confirm, you play on PC right? My go-to would be to tell you to get the Apex 4 but I do have the Vader 4 Pro to test, probably will have a review out shortly, you may want to keep your eyes peeled for that one!
@@GameTechTalk yeah i play on pc, 240hz always, i think apex 4 is not on amazon spain :(, i wanna buy today if it possible, cause we got prime day today with a lot of offers :), can u make top 3 for me if you can? just xbox controller could be perfect if polling rate was more than 500 :*( not a lot of options to be honest, just gamesir g7 se, gulikit kk3 or apex 4 i think right?
Great video! Really helpful!! I need a controller that have gyro to play switch games on emulators, but also regular games like red dead redemption and gta online. You think Gamesir Nova is the best performance per price option fot my needs? Thanks alot!!!!
Honestly, I think the Anbernic RG P01 to actually fit the bill if value is an important focus. And it'll do the things you're looking for quite well, it's a shockingly reliable controller.
So unfortunately, I do not own any of these two controllers but I did study them for my own knowledge. Vader 3 Pro is the better option, which the Vader 3 Pro is basically the Apex 4 minus the screen and the adaptive triggers. Better D-pad too but the T4 Cyclone Pro is particularly amazing, just tailored a bit more around value than the "feature rich" approach. In this instance, I'd personally go Vader 3 Pro for sure. Cheers!
@GameTechTalk I mean if I PC game with Xbox layout like rocket league or blur . Do I need to use x360ce app to be supported. Because there is PC controllers with this future like . Redragon Saturn controller which have switcher
been using my ps4 controller for pc since forever, it's amazing and no problems at all. do you think i'm missing out on far better ones and suggest to change it? wanna know your opinions.. thanks!
Not really no. Especially if you have no particular interest for one of the following: -Haptic Feedback -Adaptive Triggers -Extra Mapping buttons The first two are not a benefit to every game and the third could easily be addressed by grabbing one of those eXtremeRate kits. So no you’re not really missing out and on top of that, the DualShock 4 remains a top tier controller with its internal performance by current standards.
I would say so yes but it is wired whereas the Nova Lite remains excellent, less expensive and also wireless. Two great picks, go for your ideal use case in my opinion.
Getting the Gamesir Nova Lite to replace my ancient Dualshock 4 with problematic usb port and stick drift. I am tired of replacing the port and servicing the analog stick lol. Thank you for the review!
Great video! I wanted to ask you something: basically I would like to buy a controller and, in the beginning, I was thinking to buy the flydigi vader 3 pro but in my country is not available if not for at least 80€ which is too much for me since i'm more a mouse and keyboard player and i use the controller only for some games like fifa or souls like. So i wanted to ask you which are the best controllers for me that do not cost too much but, at the same time, they are not entirely cheap so to avoid "dead zones", good hall effect thumbsticks, wireless etc.
I did not make this up in the video. Go GameSir Nova Lite, it is still since making this video, the absolutely best "bang for your buck" option there is. You won't break the bank, you won't feel like you gimped out, and you also won't get lost in the superfluous that some more elite controllers sometimes have.
Yoooo! Underrated AF channel ! Quality stuff! Also, I think you should give much more credit to the Hall Effect featured controllers. Its revolutionary. I'm sick of my Xbox and PlayStation controllers dying after 6-9 months... They don't deserve that much praise for the scummy planned obsolescence.
Funny you should say that, I have in my production timeline another video that will consider features while leaning less on raw "performance". I don't have exact details yet but hopefully, that video will look at a more "jack of all trades" kind of approach to these controllers (and it will feature a bit more too). Cheers and thanks for the kind words!
Yeah I used to think third party controllers suck but then I got sick of drift in my PS and xbox ones.. Now I just consider controllers with the hall effect thing. I am waiting for my apex 4 now..
I'd go Flydigi Apex 4 if money is no objection. For a good value, I'd probably go EasySMX X10 or GameSir Nova if you don't care for z-axis triggers (throttle/brake L2 and R2).
Really nice, thorough work! I've got a Flydigi Vader 3 Pro that I picked up for $70 (Amazon price; Aliexpress sells it for $55) and I absolutely love it; I wonder how it would compare to the Apex 4 that you include here. Regardless, really impressed by the versatility and price of Flydigi controllers, and the D-Pad is weird (in terms of being super clicky - the buttons are, too - and oddly shaped) but I love actually using it. Being able to physically switch the triggers from digital to analog is also really cool, and something I'd never seen in any other controller.
Well first, thank you greatly! Second, I'm happy to say that I'm good on my production time so the Apex 4 video should release on the 20th. I'd love to hear your impressions of the controller and of my review of course if you do watch it. I left no stone unturned so that should be all the information you know to determine if it's worth getting. Thanks again!
Hi! What budget controllers do you recommend for me since I mostly play games like Elden Ring and Dark Souls. It will also be my first time buying a controller for my PC.
If you number one goal is best bang for you buck, go GameSir Nova Lite. You can't go wrong and it's pennies and change. Plus, it comes with a dongle for nice wireless solution if your PC doesn't have a bluetooth antenna (still use the dongle, it's better).
Hi bro, great video. i have a question. Does the adjustable analog stick tension on xbox elite 2 affect the performance parameters you tested? Did you experiment with adjusting the stick tension during your evaluations, and if so, how did it impact the results?
Thanks 😊 I did not, stick tensions are a physical modification. When talking polling rate and latency, it is all digital readings. As such, stick tension won't affect these parameters. It might affect the user's precision, which is the intention. Cheers!
@@GameTechTalk ah thanks. Appreciate it. Would you say the flydigi apex 4 is the best high end (lets say above 60 bucks) controller available. I was thinking to buy the og (elite series 2 or dualsense edge) but after your review my perception changed. Whats your take?
@abyanshiddiiq4667 If you need a PS5 AND PC controller? I'd go Dualsense Edge if price is not a concern. If you need a PC controller primarily, I'd go Flydigi Apex 4 and probably grab a kit with the dock. Keep in mind none of these controllers work on Xbox Series consoles. The Elite 2 controller is really only decent if you want an Xbox Series controller, not bad for it's hardware modding capabilities but for raw performancd, it's far behind the other two. Cheers!
Hey man great vid! I mainly game on my new ipad on remote play and stuff when I travel. So I am only connected via Bluetooth. Would you still suggest I should buy a apex 4 or would you go with a cheaper one? Thanks in advance.
Thanks! So this answer might surprise you, I'll explain. I would recommend getting a PS5 Dualsense. Basically and to keep it short, Apple's MFi blocks a bunch of controllers, yes you can use the Apex 4 on your iPad but you can only do so using Bluetooth. Xbox and Switch also won't work wired. So if ever you want an option that you can utilize wired AND bluetooth, you are considerably more limited. The Dualsense is one of the few controllers that you will be able to successfully use both with bluetooth or wired if you don't have battery left or if you just want a more steady connection to not have input lag, or not have to deal with radio signal issues. I hope this helps, cheers!
@@GameTechTalk definetly a surprise but I understand. Just so I get it 100%, if I only play via bluetooth it doesn’t matter which one I get cause they all pull the same right? Thanks again.
@@Bosniandragon97 No not quite ahahah! In fact, on bluetooth, Dualsense polls higher than any other controller on that list. Both Dualsense and Dualsense Edge can poll 1000hz on Bluetooth but the technology caps it at around 600hz. Most other controllers cap at 125hz on bluetooth. Despite that though, you still have more latency than wired cause it's Bluetooth. All the polling discussed in this video is exclusively when talking wired, which the Dualsense Edge can do 1000hz, the Dualsense regular can do 250hz. It can be overclocked to 1000hz but I don't see how you would do that on iOS. If you want wired 1000hz on iOS the only way that I know of would be the Dualsense Edge or another controller that can spoof as a DS4 or Dualsense.
Yeah, it came out a bit after launch that at the very least, a batch might have had bad production. I followed a bit of it on Reddit after a viewer mentioned it, have you reached out to find out if you have any warranty to get it replaced or refunded? Sorry that this is happening to you. 😔
Hey man, loved the vid. It was such a great and in depth review and comparison. Before seeing this I was eyeing the 8bitdo ultimate 2.4g + Bluetooth. It had great reviews and the 3d software to change the buttons and others are appealing. But right now I’m on the edge about it. It’s avg price on Amazon is £46 (approx. $60). How does it hold up with using the dongle vs the Bluetooth connectivity? Also would it better as an all rounder for multiple game genres when compared to say the dual sense (£10 more) or Xbox (£1 less). Can’t see the nova on Amazon listing.
The 8BitDos all have terrible latency performance, however, this is probably no longer an issue as long as you buy the 2C Ultimate models. They just released and they have 1000hz polling rate, implying that 8BitDo greatly revisited their latency and polling performance. As for BT, dongle and wired, I wouldn't know as I do not own a 2C myself. Cheers! :)
@@GameTechTalk thanks for getting back. I’ll see if I can find more information about this. But knowing that revisited it and improved its latency is enough for me to still go for it.
@@Sachin1671 Oh yeah, I want to get the 2C, I have full trust in 8BitDo, I just think their previous models were built during a time that the conversation around performance did not exist or barely, so they had no idea to focus on that but they have proven time and time over to being extremely competent and the 2C is a testament to that. Not many 1000hz on the market and they finally entered it. If you get it, let me know, I'll definitely get one at some point!
@@GameTechTalk I'm now planning on getting it but the problem is, the amazon listing for the 2c shows the controller to be released on end of september. So until then, I'm wondering if I should go for their ultimate with dock for the pc and switch ver, and call it a day or find an alternative controller and use that. Edit: I ended up getting the Nova lite for now from aliexpress, It was around £11. Thought it would do for now and got it. Hopefully it lasts longer than oct, because nothing ever happens to work great on launch and I'm not hopeful for the 2c just yet.
Dang, I didn't realize it was this far off. Rip! Thanks for letting me know, I won't waste too much time trying to get one myself, at least until it's readily available.
I want to say with extremely high likeliness, yes it can. The one reason why it might not is if the phone/device you would like to use it on doesn't have the OTG USB-C protocol, it will not work but that, while not impossible, is super unlikely. If you can plug other devices just fine on that Android through USB-C, say a mouse, a keyboard, a 3.5mm adapter, a USB flash drive, it pretty much means you have OTG support after which, it's basically guaranteed that it will work. Cheers!
There are hidden columns that handles part of the formula. Higher latency number is not good as we know, so it is converted in the formula to receive lower as the better value, but always relative to what the controller is capable of, in the category that it is a part of. It just is presented in a "higher is better" format to better illustrate a "progression". I'll soon be making an update video, in which I'll revisit the document and formulas to make sure everything is still sound. Potentially presenting it in various more formats as well. Cheers
Hey man, the gamesir g7 se has a 1000hz polling rate. Might be something to add to the spreadsheet or worth checking out. Great info in the vid. Those stats really point out things like why the Apex 4 is double the price of the gulikitt kk3 even though they have similar stats
Trying the do the good work as they say, thanks for the suggestion and kind words! I did add the Kaleid to the document after having reviewed them, look at it this way, the Kaleid and G7se are from a performance standpoint the exact same product, identical. There are a few differences but those ones do not pertain to the performance itself, more to aesthetics and button styles. Cheers! :)
If I'm not mistaken rs are indian rupees right? Based off of xe.com, that's about 31US dollars so I would say the Nova Lite, assuming that the conversion stays the same, is probably the best pick. The X05 from EasySMX might be decent too, haven't tested that one as I declined the review unit but I heard good things about it. Cheers! :)
I hope this video will be the one for me. I need a high polling rate so any xbox controller is not important for me. I play apex at 300 fps meaning I need a controller that has a polling rate that’s high enough to do frame perfect movement tech.
Yup Sony went hard with their controllers. However, I do prefer if not needing to overclock just because of variability with various host controllers and whatnot. So, did the video answer any of the questions you had? I hope so, cheers and thanks for watching!

I came so close to buying one to run the comparison but I'll be honest, I've been feeling like I would do better to coast on content I have to make anyway and gain in notoriety for when larger brands want to open communications. It looks interesting but there are some caveats for me personally.
Guess I'll add GameSir T4 Nova in my collection. HD Rumble, Hall-effect sticks, Tri-mode Connectivity and budget friendly?! WOW. But I really love 8bitdo Ultimate 2.4ghz BT Controller, its dock really saves me a lot of time connecting and it looks sleek to look at. I also wanna buy Dualsense, but the pricing is expensive though. Thanks for the video as always!
Seems like alot of people's issues are all the bugs that come with software or the controller stick drift. Also quality bumpers or controller just breaking down. Sad considering the price you pay for these things. I bought a victrix bfg and returned it the same day. The software would just not recognize the controller. Looked into the scuf envision the xbox elite, and so many reviews they are garbage.
best controller for me right now is T4 kaleid, with 27$ u got hall effect stick + trigger , mechanic face buttons and most important for me is 1000hz wired connect on PC, swith, android, IOS .... so u can tryhard fps game on every platform coz at 120fps and more u almost feel 0 latency at all ! If u try to lose then bluetooth connection is OK !
Amazing video! This is very helpful. I just finished building my first gaming PC and paired it with a nice OLED 144hz TV. My use case is casual gaming from the couch and occasionally some fps gamig (mainly Warzone). My budget is up to 100usd. Can you give me any recommendations? Greetings from Colombia!! And thanks again for the review
You know how to live my guy! OLED 144hz with a new PC? That's gonna to do it for sure! Without a doubt, go Apex 4. Totally agree with everything you said! Completely unrelated, I love Bossa Nova, I don't understand the lyrics but it's one of my favorite music styles of all time! Got an artist to recommend?
Excellent breakdown! Can't overstate the importance of realizing the difference between self-reported polling rate versus actual input lag measured mechanically. Pulling rate has become a marketing scam for some I didn't put lag can be very high even with good polling.
Yeah it’s definitely the new « buzz word » for controllers. I’m not against it but I wanted the video to not only be about that. Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot!
@@GameTechTalk discovered you today, amazed at how responsive you are in the comments. Ordered x10 for an android emulator setup I'm building on tablet from your review. Ty $29 seemed like a decent price

Thank you, your words mean a lot to me! Yes, it works absolutely fine, I fact I got another one because I had the white (I used it in my review) and wanted the blue one too (seen in this video). Great product really!
For me personally I usualla would look no further than to MS Elite Series 2. BUT: This controller is prone to break within the guarantee time and MS is using excuses to replace them - you get a nice letter with reasosns why they won't do it. So I went with something else. It's a shame as this controller really feels great in your hands and the build quality is great. But what use does it have if at the end of the day you end up with a dead brick originally worth 140 Euro.
WOOOWWW!!! I knew they broke, my brother bought 3 within a year and half. But my brother is also the kind of guy that can't be bothered with holding on the phone with customer service, so warranties? He no care about them. I, on the other hand, will hold for an hour to get them to honor the thing they harp on to make a sale. To think they will try to find excuses to not replace them? That is so vile... Disappointed to hear that to be honest, I would've expected better from Microsoft. Honestly, if you like the MS feel but want something that feels more premium than the regular Series controller, consider the GameSir Kaleid for Xbox or the G7 series. The one catch is you have to play wired, but if you are ok with that, don't take my word for it, EVERYONE praises these controllers for how good they are and having laid hands on them all, I absolutly agree.
Looking for a "good" controller is so hard any more cause what makes them "good" is a possibility of an edge you could have on someone else if they didn't pay to have those physical features. Like all i want is a controller that feels good and the macros on the back dont press down just from breathing on them 💀 (PlayStation just sucks at plug and play on pc)
How I wish the Dualsense would just be feature complete when using wireless, I hate that you have to be wired at all times with it. And you are right, at least outside of Steam (thanks to Neptune), the Dualsense compatibility on PC is often a hit and miss, I'm hoping this'll change with Sony becoming more and more invested in PC. Honestly, if you want a no brainer controller, I'd say Apex 4 is the king right now. The backpaddle buttons are not everyone's cup of tea, personally I like them, they don't press if not intended and I can flick my middle finger left or right to action each on each side but there is a paddle mod for people that prefer that. If you have questions I can help with, don't hesitate, cheers!

cool vid. I'm currently using a Logitech F710. Previous I used a F310. That I used for more than 15 years. Some opening up and cleaning and it worked again. the 710 I recently got connection issues with the dongle. I travel around a lot and taking that stuff with me. And the in and outs was after not even 2 years so much that the connection has issues. you know the crazy thing. In old times. When I bought the 310. It had its own software to swap buttons with a freedom I don't see in any controller. Only the very expensive Xbox pro controller has the ability of button freedom. I mean putting keyboard commands on the keys to increase the input or to use it for games that don't have controller support. It's sad that the XBox controller I got had wobbly sticks. For now I keep using my F710 as I at least can change button layout. And as the controller is battery driven I won't have the problems that is known to accu driven controllers. Switch them and they hold for months. just two stupid AA batteries. Sony falls out for me as the controller becomes crippled on PC. AliExpress...I buy shit on Ali. but I wouldn't buy Tech on Ali. My experiences with Ali is that you get the china market tech. Things that melt down by heat or even burn your house down. (USB adapters) Don't buy those. In case of specified things like controllers, you usually don't get the "real" product. It's usually the sorted out shit. So you often have some issues. 30 bucks is my limit for anything I would buy on Ali. If that is shit. I throw it away. But everything else I want to send back and get a replacement. Amazon is quite good with it's return policy. Another thing that would cause me trouble are batteries. Lithium Ion Batteries are very sensible and when damaged they burn like hellfire. Buying a product from Ali with those inside...it's like smoking in bed. I like my life. I don't have a death wish. So no to that.
That PC crippling of the Dualsense seems to have disappeared, I was shocked the other day to see my adaptive triggers and rumble work even when wireless but truth be told, might be a software I installed at some point and forgot about but yeah, that was shocking as those features historically only worked when being wired. And yeah, I catch your drift (no pun intended) when it comes to tech on Ali. I'm not opposed to your strategy, in fact, I think it's a smart one. It's just that sometimes, options are only available there, especially in the niche I cover on this channel. I gotta say, never owned the F310 or F710 that you mentioned but I might pick up a F710 for beeps n giggles in the future because just looking at it inspires me of an era of PC controller gaming, late 80s, early 90s kind of era, yet modernized to tackle the new games. Thanks for engaging and bringing some pretty cool nuggets of wisdom and knowledge in there, love those comments!
i used the flydigi apex 4 for 2 weeks on pc now after my dualsense got analog drift....it is the best controller i had tried...much better than dualsense..the weight, grip, button, battery and the looks
I still have appreciation for the Dualsense but I can totally agree with everything you're saying. How I wish the Apex 4 could be spoofed as a Dualsense to have the triggers behave just like on the Dualsense on Sony's games.
I unfortunately do not own one of those but I've heard FANTASTIC things about it. Who knows, maybe I'll review it in the future but no current plans to do so.
I will never not be amazed at just how good the GameSir Nova Lite is. It would be considered legitimately excellent even if it were priced a whole lot higher than $25 + free shipping. I don't know how they were able to hit that price point and still turn a profit. It makes me wonder about just how high are the profit margins on controllers from these other brands? Maybe instead of buying stock in defense contractors and maple syrup distilleries I should invest in game controller manufacturing? That's obviously where the real money is at. I won my Nova Lite in GameSir's launch livestream about a month ago, so maybe I'm a little bit biased here. But, it's been great so far. It feels great in the hand. All the buttons and sticks are satisfying to use. Nothing feels cheap to me. The battery seems to last forever. Cosmetically speaking it looks like the purple Stadia controller and an Xbox controller had a baby. A very handsome baby, clearly. I'm happy to see that it placed Number One in this roundup.
Sorry about that and thanks for the assist, greatly appreciated!
Everything over 1k hz polling rate is useless, 4 example 8k hz from ps5 Controller just shows 8times the same latency so its placebo and 8times more "work" for your PC.
@@Sh1baa_ It's once every millisecond, big difference lmao
The definition of Hz is one 'event' per second, not per millisecond. So, 1Hz is 1 event per second; for 1 event per millisecond, that would be 1000Hz, aka 1KHz (one kilohertz).
@@superman25671 Did you fail your class or American education system didn’t teach you? Hz is per second not per ms.

Cheers!

GameSir Nova Lite is a guaranteed safe bet. Can't go wrong with that one!
Would the gamesir nova be good for pc gaming and performance or would the lite had been a better option. Cause i just got the gamesir nova .
@@GameTechTalk and what if we compare both with novalite??
@@abinashbarik1832 Still the Dualsense, in fact the Nova Lite shares more DNA to the Series X/S but one thing to note is the Nova Lite is a fraction of both controllers.
Which should i choose, best for bluetooth connection. Not a competitive player for PC

hi, could you help me ?

I would think it might have to do with the overall internal structure? I don't know. That's a great question actually.
Great video but I am wondering why you didnt do any testing with the scuf envision as rated the number one pc controller.

That is the hall effect no drift I am looking for.

Why you decided not to add 8bitdo controllers? Will you update this video to add more contenders?
The Ultimate was part of the list if I recall no? And I will be making an updated list at some point after which I will make a new video, that one will include C and 2C.
@GameTechTalk I'll wait for it.
@@GameTechTalk do you have a link with the controller and a reliable seller??

Hello, aside from flydigi 4 and xbox elite 2, are there other controllers that can be map or configure with keyboard keys? thank you so much!
I didn’t test particularly but safe to say that any controller without PC software can’t do that and even the very few that do, say Turtle Beach, do not support that feature.
And it'll do the things you're looking for quite well, it's a shockingly reliable controller.
how much can nova lite stay ? for daily use
Depends, for example if rumble motors are active but they're saying approximately 10 hours on a full charge which takes about two hours to charge.
Hi, if you compare between Gamesir T4 Cyclone Pro and Flydigi Vader 3 Pro, which controller is better for pc and emulator gamer?
So unfortunately, I do not own any of these two controllers but I did study them for my own knowledge. Vader 3 Pro is the better option, which the Vader 3 Pro is basically the Apex 4 minus the screen and the adaptive triggers. Better D-pad too but the T4 Cyclone Pro is particularly amazing, just tailored a bit more around value than the "feature rich" approach. In this instance, I'd personally go Vader 3 Pro for sure. Cheers!
Does gamesir nova lite support Xbox games without (x360 ce) ?
By "support Xbox games" you mean working on an xbox console right? (Just to be sure) If so, the answer is no it would not.
Especially if you have no particular interest for one of the following:
-Haptic Feedback
-Adaptive Triggers
-Extra Mapping buttons
The first two are not a benefit to every game and the third could easily be addressed by grabbing one of those eXtremeRate kits. So no you’re not really missing out and on top of that, the DualShock 4 remains a top tier controller with its internal performance by current standards.
Hey is the gamesir g7se brtter than nova lite?
I would say so yes but it is wired whereas the Nova Lite remains excellent, less expensive and also wireless. Two great picks, go for your ideal use case in my opinion.
Getting the Gamesir Nova Lite to replace my ancient Dualshock 4 with problematic usb port and stick drift. I am tired of replacing the port and servicing the analog stick lol. Thank you for the review!
You'll be shocked at how good it is considering the price. And thank you greatly! :)
@@GameTechTalk Looking forward for this ! Keep up the good work, sir !
Yeah I used to think third party controllers suck but then I got sick of drift in my PS and xbox ones.. Now I just consider controllers with the hall effect thing. I am waiting for my apex 4 now..
what do you think is the best controller here that works on pc ns and android
Thanks again!
thanks Bro. nice job. went with the nova lite. figured its got to be an upgrade from using my keyboard since 2000. lol
I hope you enjoy the upgrade, it should be a nice change of pace!

Rip! Thanks for letting me know, I won't waste too much time trying to get one myself, at least until it's readily available.
can g7 se work with android via usbC hub?
I want to say with extremely high likeliness, yes it can. The one reason why it might not is if the phone/device you would like to use it on doesn't have the OTG USB-C protocol, it will not work but that, while not impossible, is super unlikely. If you can plug other devices just fine on that Android through USB-C, say a mouse, a keyboard, a 3.5mm adapter, a USB flash drive, it pretty much means you have OTG support after which, it's basically guaranteed that it will work. Cheers!
@@GameTechTalk thakn you so much
If the roundness indicator is done through gamepad tester the higher the number the worse the controller, how did you calculate it?
There are hidden columns that handles part of the formula. Higher latency number is not good as we know, so it is converted in the formula to receive lower as the better value, but always relative to what the controller is capable of, in the category that it is a part of. It just is presented in a "higher is better" format to better illustrate a "progression". I'll soon be making an update video, in which I'll revisit the document and formulas to make sure everything is still sound. Potentially presenting it in various more formats as well.
Cheers

This very helpful. Thank you!
Happy that it was, thanks and if you have questions for me, don't hesitate! Cheers :)
Aliexpress is great, but like you said, warrant is forget about it.
Looking for a "good" controller is so hard any more cause what makes them "good" is a possibility of an edge you could have on someone else if they didn't pay to have those physical features. Like all i want is a controller that feels good and the macros on the back dont press down just from breathing on them 💀
(PlayStation just sucks at plug and play on pc)

No envision pro?
Unfortunately, I do not own this product currently. Hopefully, whenever there'll be a version 2 of this guide, I'll have reviewed one by then.
@@GameTechTalk I took my stick drift riddled xbox controller out to the garden last night and smashed it with a hammer so i'm looking to get a new one right now. Any brand apart from microsoft! I'm thinking about buying the flydigi 4 which is a first for me to spend so much on a controller but i'd like paddles and to experience the hall sticks etc. Hopefully it lasts me a while!
@@TheDwarburton Do keep in mind the Flydigi Apex 4 will not work on Xbox with an adapter to convert it compatible. So I will assume that you game on PC and in the event that you do, the Apex 4 is a great pick! Just don't increase the tension all the way, apparently it's been known to cause premature failures as the mechanism breaks.
@@GameTechTalk Yeah I saw amazon reviews saying if you increase the tension too much it will snap and people are recommending to just keep the sticks loose. I am a PC player yes but unfortunate to say the Flydigi dont stock on UK amazon and i'd prefer not to pay shipping especially as I have Prime! Still on the hunt for a good deal on UK amazon sadly.
It's a shame too because the FLYDIGI Direwolf 2 PC has a really good deal on right now at £28 Which is £35!!
@@GameTechTalk Flydigi products arent very accessible in UK but ive decided on the Gulikit KK3 max!
Basically the best ones are, gullikit kk3 the flydigi 4 and dualsense edge
It’s a great selection no doubt. This list is becoming quite outdated though. I need to make a new one.
i used the flydigi apex 4 for 2 weeks on pc now after my dualsense got analog drift....it is the best controller i had tried...much better than dualsense..the weight, grip, button, battery and the looks
I still have appreciation for the Dualsense but I can totally agree with everything you're saying. How I wish the Apex 4 could be spoofed as a Dualsense to have the triggers behave just like on the Dualsense on Sony's games.
wheres my gamesir g7 se 😅
I unfortunately do not own one of those but I've heard FANTASTIC things about it. Who knows, maybe I'll review it in the future but no current plans to do so.
Thank you for the review. You saved me a lot of time
🫡 Glad to have been of assistance!
But I already has a dongle...
One can never have too many dongles! 'tis the rule!
nova lite is still the best for price i got mine from aliexpress for 19 dollar
Yup, I am still shocked at how good that controller is.
Neither do I honestly but I had the exact same thought on margins. Both the Novas in fact, they are killer products for sure!
In chinese app taobao it’s only $50 usd
I needed a Vid like this 😁👍
Heeyyyy!! It's been a while! Thanks, you put a smile on this gamer's face. If I helped one person, that's mission accomplished!
