An hour at Llandudno Junction 27th June 2024

Whilst waiting for the passing of the "Three Peaks special", and despite poor lighting and blustery conditions, I managed to capture a variety of traction between 20:15 and 21:15, culminating in the departure of 47 593 "Galloway Princess" and 57 311 on its journey to Bangor.

Judging by the diesel exhaust smoke belching out, no DPF filters seem to be fitted and how polluting are these locomotives? 🤔

You make an interesting point. All I can tell you is that as of now, they are compliant in the UK in terms of exhaust emissions. However its likely to change.
