I Went SURVIVAL Camping With My Pastor! Emergency Shelter | Long Fire | Cold Weather

This video is a little different than normal. Brought along a good friend of mine, who happens to be my pastor (Rocky Randall) as well.
The video starts off in the very early morning (2AM) on a Friday. We actually headed out to the location Thursday night but didn't arrive at the trailhead until Friday morning. My pastor had some work to knock out before we headed off on the trail, so he dropped me off and helped me find a decent spot to set up camp for what remained of the night.
He arrived back at the trailhead a couple of hours later and just crashed in the truck until about 8AM when he hiked the short distance to my camp.
After a quick coffee and chat, we headed off down the trail.
Being that all we had was a couple of emergency kits and some food, our backs were spared from being weighed down, but it also meant that we would need to make sure we left ourselves enough daylight to get a long fire going that would keep us warm all night.
After some good conversation and about 4.5 miles on the trail, we arrived at a clearing that would be perfect for a long fire camp.
After setting up our emergency space blankets parallel to one another, our next mission was to gather some firewood. Some food and coffee were thrown in there as well! After gathering the wood needed to last the entirety of the night, we relaxed by the fire and eventually dozed off to sleep, taking turns adding wood.
We stayed nice and warm (hot at some points) all night. The lowest temperature we saw was about 16°F with a real feel of 2°F. It was pretty windy!
The next morning consisted of coffee and oatmeal and back on the trail right at sunrise.

Nice kit! Im not sure if anyone commented on this, but if you have room, I’d suggest dedicated, dry sleep wear-perhaps spare underwear, wool long underwear and top, and spare wool socks. Keep up the great work!
