He had to turn all the way around while sprinting full speed and it was behind him, how bad really was the drop now
Anyone who plays football knows how hard it is to catch the ball when your body is completely working against the rhythm of the catch.
@@ATZDDD exactly
My coach would of benched the qb…… way behind not even tight near chest….. he had all day for that throw and blew it
Bad throw, absolutely. Not the easiest catch. But it's still a catch an NFL player has to make. It hit him right in the hands.
@@mattdeaver6850yeah i agree i think both were partially at fault. Just tough to see very unfortunate for goodson he seems like a good dude
Yeah he could have caught it but it wasn't a good throw either.
He should have caught it. You aren't going to get perfect throws all the time. That was a catch he should have made.
That throw deserves just as much criticism as the drop bro. Feel like everyone is just shitting on Goodson when that should have been such an easy completion. Personally I think most of the blame is on the throw
Throw was good enough to pick the first down.
I bet that RB thinks it was the worst play of his life
@@frenchtoastmaffia Running back dropped a tough catch.
Quarterback blew an easy throw.
@@ATZDDD clearly you've never played football if you think that was a tough catch
@@frenchtoastmaffia clearly you’ve never done anything athletic in your life if you think that was an easy/guaranteed catch lmao
@elephantwaffle5612 the catch was waste high, inside the body. He didn't have to dive or leap. A routine back shoulder throw.
It was a fluke drop but still all the fault is on RB.
Contrary to popular belief it is not the job of the QB to make perfect throws all the time. It is the job of a reciever to catch every catchable pass before running for more yards.
I feel bad for Goodson after his comments. That's a difficult catch for anyone. We forget sometimes that the majority of these players are just kids. We're too quick to cast stones.
Coming back here after the Super Bowl thinking how we have a positive record vs the chiefs and already beat the ravens. Sigh.
Yeah but honestly would they have even won? They still had to score a TD, and the Texans still had 3 timeouts and over a minute left. And they only needed a FG to win it. I don’t think they woulda necessarily won had they gotten the 1st down. Also could they have beaten the Browns? Colts had a very bad secondary and the Texans won bcuz of their secondary.
Minshew's errors:
Completely rushed the throw, causing it to go where it went. Ball placement on the throw (obviously), but specifically because he took his receiver out of stride. He had enough time to set up that throw correctly. Despite all that, it wasn't the worst throw ever (like some of you are suggesting)
Goodson's errors: didn't make a good enough adjustment to the catch. While he was taken out of prime position to make an easier catch, he kinda developed gator arms, making it even more difficult to try and make what was honestly not that difficult of a catch, all things considered (there are plenty worse throws and harder situations, he was wide open).
These are just what i notice. But overall, while Minshew did make a poor decision to rush the pass, it did hit Goodson right in his hands, and it was not even close to an egregious throw, like i have seen being suggested. Goodson recognizes that it was something he should've been able to do. It sucks that it wasn't a pitch perfect kinda throw, but a bad throw wouldn't have hit Goodson in his hands at all.
It was still a bad throw bc Goodson wasn’t even fully adjusted yet. Bro was sprinting and had to turn around the complete opposite way and by the time he did the ball was already in his face.
The way the WR was blocking I think it was supposed to come out quick like that and it was supposed to be back shoulder- they shouldn't have a RB with less than 10 career targets out there in that situation
Was the route for Goodson to be inside or outside? Goodson was looking inside and Minshew threw it outside. Man, it was a good adjustment and the ball did have a good chance to be caught. That'll hurt awhile but time goes on and this too shall pass
Thank you Sir, I needed to hear this
Ive seen alot if dropped passes like that in the NFL over the years, but this one mattered.
You probably never caught a football in your life stfu
90% Minshew. 10% Goodson
Nah 100% Goodson
@@lildripnation3462 you’re right. It was a perfect pass
@@gopher7691totally
Yeah it hit him in his hands. Make a play this is the NFL. Like Tom Brady said "When you get an opportunity don't mess it up because you may never get another."
@@gopher7691 Life isn't perfect sometime you have to make an adjustment and make a play.
I refuse to hold Tyler Goodson responsible for Gardner’s under-thrown pass. Why does he have to adjust. Shuttle pass would’ve been better..
Thank you
Using the Pythagorean theorem, it’s only about a 12 yard throw Minshew had to make there. Still a catchable ball. Looks like Goodson closes his hands a little too soon, not allowing the ball to get to his hands.
“Using the Pythagorean theorem” headass 🤓
Using the Pythagorean theorem? Relax you can clearly see and estimate how many yards it is just counting. No need to get all technical
That Goodson drop was a gut punch to Colts fans .. #RAVENSNATION
Need Trenton Simpson Game Highlights 😅
300k incentive drop pass complete ✅
9 out of 10 running backs make that catch!
this is why i regret them not putting in granson for him
This was even more painful coming back and watching.
It wasn't great throw, but as an NFL player you gotta make that catch 99 out of a 100 times. But I blame the Colts.... WTF is Goodson doing on the field in that situation? He's not a play maker, and he proved it there.
Horrific throw by minshew
horrific? dude gtfo
you blind. Lets see you make that pass with a guy jumping in your face.
Yes it hit him right in the hands
Horrific drop💀
Joking I assume?
Minshew failed Goodson!! He didnt give goodson the best chance to make the play!! I would say both are at fault. Him dropping a easy catch must have been heart wrenching(joy for me) but that throw was just as brutal... whats crazy is next year with hopefully healthy rosters, the games will be way better between the 2 teams!! GO TEXANS🤘
Wasn't the best pass but make a play. You can't have everything handed to you on a platter. If it hits your hands you should catch it.
@@gncc600 lmao idk where people get that logic 😂 🤣 it's just angry, salty fans... again yes he could have caught it but give him a better chance, he was a practice squad player what do you expect!!! why not lead him instead of throwing it behind him? Yall lost, shouldn't have left it down to that play or 4th string practice player, blame the offense for doing nothing in the first half against our defense... blame the defense for allowing Nico Collin's to get 200 yds!!! And giving us momentum on the first play on our first possession!!
cost us the playoff and title
Did it really tho. Would they have won. He only woulda gotten a first down, whose to say they woulda gotten a TD. Plus there was still a lot of time left and the Texans coulda scored a FG to win the game with 3 time outs.
This play still hurts.
All they had to do is give it to Taylor to run the ball
With all due respect, although I think Gardner Minshew is a solid backup QB, I think both he and Tyler Goodson (Yes, the Ex-Packers backup RB) were both to blame. From what I saw from Minshew's perspective, the throw wasn't great, as it was a bit short. However, it was also a catchable ball, a ball that Goodson should've hauled in. If he had done so, that not only would've been a first down, but it would've tied the game and gave the Colts a better chance of winning. Bottom line here is that Goodson deserves a majority of the blame for his role in the Colts' heartbreaking game-losing mistake, about 70% to be exact. Minshew, on the other hand, gets about 20% for the throw. Nonetheless, there are many throws that can be caught, and this one, unfortunately, is one of them.
Now this doesn't necessarily define who Minshew is, as he did well enough to keep the Colts in playoff contention. Unfortunately, as proven on this fateful Saturday Night game on ESPN, he can only take you so far.
Well Goodson their will be a place that should be well fit in, it’s name is the patriots,I say you should be there for the next 2 years, this should be enough time for pacers to be trash again.
Who takes out JT in the most critical down of the game? 188yards 1td 6.3
Shane Steichen's dumbass. The fact he wasn't in the game to create any doubt, it says a lot about Steichen moving forward in terms of big game decisions
@joelinville381 zack moss?
New headline : Trash throw from Minshew.
Cj stroud hype train ends if he catches this pass
The greatest take of all time
Yea
If he made this catch yall would call him a hero and when you lose in the playoffs this would be forgotten
That was it? That was like 90% off throw assuming he ran his route right.
QB has No Touch!
Practice squad guy who just messed up the biggest moment of his career. Time to put in that application at Domino's.
Sure bad pass but it was obviously on Goodson to haul it in. You kinda have to feel bad for the man tho
UK criticizing too much what about the quarterback he threw the ball behind him he's running a damn route the quarterback knows the route so why in the quarterback getting chastised he threw the ball behind him
Anyone else think the Texans defender might have just barely grazed the ball and affected its trajectory?
No, but always got to be wary of such possibilities.
Just run the ball
they werent trying to waste time
Even the Seahawks don’t do that, man.
Minshew can’t complete a pass to save his life.
Got within some butter fingers of the playoffs. Did something right for a backup.
Bad pass
He cut tmr morning😭
How? He definitely made a bad drop but also a bad pass
The pass wasn’t great, but he had both hands on the ball which means you have to catch it. He made the classic mistake seen with many receivers and backs who aren’t that bright; they start thinking about running with the ball before they secure it.
@@DeezerWeezer20if you can’t catch that in the NFL even if it’s not the perfect throw that’s ridiculous there’s kids in middle school that could’ve caught that
@@xxrkg8437 Because those throws are light as shit probably. Its still on both of them
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
That was a horrible throw. I wonder if receiver was doing something unplanned
A QB just can’t throw behind a runner on a short pass, very little reaction time.
I could’ve made that catch..
okay? he was also trying to convert on 4th down in front of 20k people to make the team to the playoffs. then he has to adjust to catch the ball then turn back out of bounds
DESPEDIDO!!!!!!
That ball was behind him 😢
Why was JT not in???
he's in the drama
Hhhh
ua-cam.com/video/ia8rgDB9XNo/v-deo.html
Same play, better throw.
That wasn’t a bad pass, Tyler Goodson only saw 7 targets in his career and spazzed out
Bad timing and pass and a bad drop
Horrible pass given he wasn’t under any pressure
@@dreamchaser5227 he still had to throw it around a defender.
🤡🤡🤡🤡it’s alright to admit it was a drop and bad pass as well……. both announcers said as much it was a throw for less than a yard thrown behind the receiver…YOU CANNOT BE THAT BLIND!!!
Are you watching the same throw? Are you serious lmao
Bad throw my butt. Stop it with that. The guy dropped the freaking ball right in his hands. He could've thrown it a little more to the inside but he HAS to make that catch. You try throwing that with guys in your face. You have to catch that ball! Stop it with the bad pass crap
Correct! Minshew threw it right to where he could get it, Goodson just couldn't secure it
@maxxtoxinmusicMhm a lil more outside it’s batted down rb should’ve went a lil more inside
No, they will be thinking about it for the next SEVEN MONTHS!! LOL!! LFG TEXANS!!!
This is on the coach for not ensuring they have guys in there with good hands. Smart players, who understand to secure the ball before they think about running.
Yeah, it's not like the ball was thrown behind him and he had to do a 180 degree turn to catch it or anything...
@hhaste While you're technically correct, a lot of times on these routes you'll see Qbs try and throw to the outside shoulder to lead their receiver towards the sideline to either get out of bounds and/or avoid heading to the midfield and taking a big hit from a LB. I'd say it wasn't a bad idea to throw to the outside shoulder, just that it wasn't accurate enough of a throw.
Tf. Kind of brain dead comment is this
It didn't matter because the season was over for the Colts when they had lost to the Kings of the mediocre one-dimensional football team Bengals in December that has an offensive game plan of 99% screen pass plays.
Bad job by everyone involved. Coach puts in a guy who's caught a couple of passes all year, QB spins the guy around, and the guy can't make the adjustment.
can’t blame that shit on the qb
gtfo if u try
It’s both ways, but that was a terrible throw.
That’s 100 percent on the qb, he had to turn all the way around and go low. Any pass in FRONT of the receiver gets a first down casual.
Anyone blaming the qb is smoking crack. It hit both of his hands. Stop with that nonsense.
@@JShady7620 WRONG
God awful throw completely against his momentum
bad throw
