Springs usually rusty were they sit in the well of the axle Terry, those looked pretty good to be fair. Sometimes mot testers get a bit twitchy when they know the car is going up for sale. Looks a great car and with that mileage should easily sell. Categorised cars do still carry a cloud over them and as we know they are normally better prepared than most vehicles out there of the same age.

Hi Richard, couldn’t agree more…I just hope people start to see that Cat cars are not all bad. 😊👍🏻

You need to get a new mot station to do your testing I've been a mechanic 40 years this year and been mot tester as well

Unfortunately some mot testers aren't happy unless they can find a couple of advisories 😄

I've had the same with the springs. I cleaned them up like you did and they were actually virtually new and I consider my MoT testers to be rather lenient.

Thanks guys, to be honest they are really good where I go, priced fairly and never try to have me over…must have just been a one off. In future I’ll clean the springs before a car goes in but as I wanted to try and minimise the cars on and off my ramp I sent this in without really going over it.

Great video as always. You started doing these about a month after I bought my wife a 1.2 lounge automatic. Searched high and low for one and ended up driving across the country to get one. I’d have come to you definitely if you had an automatic at the time. Do you ever get them?

Hi Duncan, thank you that’s really kind of you to say that. I have avoided them historically due to issues with the gearboxes but so many people have asked me about getting one I’m probably going to buy one, it’ll make good content and also offer a slightly different challenge.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊👍🏻
