Hi Henry just to correct you in a couple of points in this video, the op’s are 41mm not 39mm. Also the watch you weren’t sure if and thought it was a platinum gmt, was a white gold submariner. Perhaps have a browse of the Rolex catalog.
Much appreciated Bobby thank you very much. I am not as knowledgable on the OP versions as I should be. For some reason I was thinking they’re smaller than 40 mm are in time I’m going to know more about the details of the product line.
good going Henry, may not be 100% correct but just know I amongst others appreciate your video and feedback on where Rolex may or may not be available around the world. Would be happy to chat to you to give you better information regarding certain model details etc... thanks for the good vids. keep them up
Thank you so much I appreciate that!! Maybe you could do a “Intro to Rolex 101” video with me .. great topic for a video too! Just thinking out loud ..
I do not know about that .. thank you .. but I certainly do enjoy watches, and I like sharing my passion on things that I enjoy. I also like meeting like-minded people as well and there’s a joy to sharing the passion with others.
I’m pronouncing it almost like wimpy as in the English hamburger shop. Thank you for the correction on that. I appreciate it. Yes, in my Frankfurt Rolex watch shop part 2 video which will be posted to my channel soon, I do show the Sinn store too👍👍.
I have a Rolex submariner, a breitling superocean and a tag carerra, I also have a $400 G-SHOCK which sadly is the best watch I own as far as reliability and accuracy. I wear it just about everyday for 3 years , I’ve never had to set it and keeps perfect time. It’s not even close. Lol
Thank you so very much for this comment. I’m going have a look at the G-SHOCK models when I next visit watch shops. I actually own a 1977 daily manual wind Rolex model 6694 which is extremely accurate, and is pretty much my every day wearer. It’s not an expensive watch, but it’s extremely accurate in time keeping and it’s pretty safe to wear around the world as well, as it doesn’t attract any attention unless you truly know what it is.
I’m not saying there not accurate. I don’t wear those watches enough to know. I guess my point is we buy Rolex and Breitling etc for the brand. There are plenty of good watches like G-SHOCK that keep perfect time for fraction of the price. But i sure do love Rolex watches! Lol
Some of the Rolex authorized dealers sell other brands and I think that is part of it. They would like to sell you a non-Rolex watch, so they use techniques to drive that side of their business.
You can buy a used Rolex GMT everywhere at 100% over the retail price of the watch. That’s not a problem, but that’s not something I personally wish to do. As you will see in my Frankfurt Rolex watch video number 2 that’ll be coming soon to my channel, you can easily buy a Rolex CPO, which stands for a certified pre owned, but these watches are 50 to 100% more expensive than a brand new Rolex watch, which makes no sense to me personally.
The people are “laughing” at the pricing and supply problems. Lot’s of lookers, but no buyers! Who would waste their time going into the shop only to be told “we don’t have that model”? Insulting and aggravating.
Absolutely correct. They should actually just lock the doors to the fully dedicated Rolex authorized dealer shops and put a sign in the window saying we’re closed indefinitely, and they’ll stop wasting everybody’s time that’s looking for one of their new watches. When the day comes out, they have actual watches for sale. They can unlock the front doors. That’s pretty simple and logical to me.
@@WatchFanHenry I just went to a couple of AD’s one in Houston Texas and another one in Guadalajara Mexico, nothing available for walk ins but I did get an offer with the AD in Guadalajara (which is my main AD), they offered me a rose gold oyster flex sky dweller chocolate dial, I had to wait for 10 months since they last sold me my submariner and a 2 tone datejust but watches are starting to arrive for customer with mild purchase history (5 Rolex and 1 Tudor in the last 3 years), I believe we will see 2 tone watches for sale by march next year, probably full gold pieces as well.
This is what I have experience in visiting Rolex authorized dealers across Asia and Europe for the last three years. I am very specifically looking to buy a brand new Rolex men’s watch that is 40 mm or larger, and this watch is unavailable on planet earth in my personal experience.
Urban city ADs, no chance of getting what you want. Try more rural locations. Be patient, things are changing and don’t feed the Grey Market charlatans…. why pay twice for a GMT 🙄
That’s exactly my position, there’s no way I’m going to pay twice the price of a new watch or a newer watch, by getting it through Rolex CPO. It is not going to happen. I’ll be patient and I’ll waiting until the market balances but I guess it could take some years even though it’s already been three or four years. The money doesn’t turn rotten in the bank waiting for that day.
I guess you’re right, and the tables will turn on Rolex. A day will come when their watches will fill their watch stores and people will not be clamouring to have them. It’s just about being patient for that day.
The shop is empty because nobody can afford to buy. The owner may be out on the street with a jacket lining full of watches to sell by the direct approach method. "Hey Mac? wanna buy a watch?"
Actually, I think it’s quite the contrary. There are millions of people on the planet that want to buy brand new Rolex watch (I am one of them) and they have saved their money to do so over the last many years, but there are no new Rolex watches for sale on the planet. This is the problem, unless you are lucky enough to have to have a private connection to Rolex in order to be able to buy one of their watches today.
Omg! Are you kidding me? Why do a Rolex video, when you have no idea, what you are looking at? You get sizes, material and even models totally wrong, up to several times. Never heard of anybody, who couldn’t at least tell the difference ,between an OP and date just (cyklop is clearly the easiest difference to spot)!

@@WatchFanHenry I'd be happy to, perhaps I can pop you an email and see how I can help. Is the jetflix email in the description good?
Henry you are a great guy frankly

The 41k watch in first AD is a Smurf, a white gold sub.
In Germany, Wempe is pronounced “Vem-PAY”. There are also Sinn boutiques in Frankfurt: a locally based manufacturer

The Rolex hype is fed by social media I guess. Their watches are super old fashioned design wise.
Actually, I don’t think Rolex partakes in any form of social media. They are luddites in this regard.

lol…how they have the price listed, so you have to bother going in to ask the price, only to be told…no inventory available for sell

ROLEX knockoffs are cool_
Yes I have seen them for sale in Istanbul, Hong Kong and China.
They even have gmt2 for sale?

Are any of those for sale or exhibition only?
The handful of Rolex authorized dealers in Frankfurt only had Rolex exhibition pieces, not one single watch available for sale.💨💨💨

I’m new at this so I’m learning so that’s all I can really say hopefully I’ll make fewer mistakes in the future.
@WatchFanHenry Keep learning and working.
Breitling is generally pronounced as Brightling 👍
