The more relevant connection for the song "Ready Steady Go", it was used in the 2002 thriller "The Bourne Identity" where Matt Damon also plays an assassin. I'm sure that's where they got the idea to use it.
This is one of my favorite movies ever made, it’s highly underrated. I find Max’s arc the most compelling. Through what the film shows us about Max’s life you could almost say Vincent is the only friend Max has ever had. Someone to push him to “better” himself. I also love that nothing is random and nothing is just up to chance. They don’t get lucky with the first police interaction, Fanning calls for a black and white to investigate the apartment just before they are stopped. Fanning isn’t just at the hospital by chance he is there investigating the two dudes Vincent shot in the alleyway. and my favorite moment Vincent fails to his training. Max says in the beginning “i just got lucky with the lights” …. in the subway shootout Again max “gets lucky with the lights” Max fires into the door wildly, stumbling to his right as the lights flicker out. You can see in the door from Vincent’s side 2 in the chest and one in the head direct center of the door, where Max WAS before the lights flicker. Vincent doesn’t reload because he stole the chrome s&w from the security guard at Anne’s office, Max has Vincent’s gun he recovered from the car crash. Vincent reaches for a mag only to realize whether he has one or not it’s useless, it’s not his gun. Sits down and accepts defeat.
