You both are great, I love how clear and entertaining your videos are. Super helpful when there isn’t a lot of information out there about the academies. Thanks
Wow. Back in the day we got one-half monthly of an Ensign's Pay (Under 2 years) or 1/2 of $222.30 or $111.15 per month. We got IIRC $8 Monthly Credit in The Midshipman's Store... enough for Cigarettes, toiletries, etc. *Retired 24 Year US Navy Submariner - USNA Class of 1965 - Former Enlisted Man* PS We used to graduate *FROM* the Academy.
Hi! that is very interesting! We've never heard of that before. Very different Navy now and then. They definitely don't sell cigarettes at the midshipman's store anymore :) Also, thank you for watching our UA-cam channel and commenting! If you want to do a video with us and tell us more stories about the academy, we would love to!!!! (Old vs New from the Naval Academy)
Thank you for the information! I am an incoming plebe for the class of 2025. I was wondering if there’s any form of a retirement plan like a 401K at the academy.
Hey Juju and Phil! I’m currently a sophomore with a 4.0 (maybe higher) gpa taking all advanced classes. I’m a Boy Scout, lifeguarding this summer, in Leo club, NHS, and SGA. I also wrestle and plan on playing tennis next year. One other thing is that I have actually planned my own teddy bear drive for first responders. My only fear are my leadership positions. They are popularity based and I’m not the most popular one of the group. I have leadership experiences just not any positions. Any tips???
Hey Ben, it is definitely NOT a popularity contest. Neither Philip and I are that popular. I think you being a lifeguard, planning your own teddy bear drive, and volunteering are all great demonstrations of leadership. You don't have to be captain of the football team to show that you are a good leader. Keep doing what you are doing, high school popularity is so overrated. The majority of the "popular kids" in high school peek in high school and then spend the rest of their lives reminiscing over their high school days. don't be one of them :P
We get second class loan right after we sign 2for7. Majority of the people I know use that loan to pay for the ring. I don't know anyone who pays for their ring on a monthly basis... Maybe it has that option, I just don't know.
Nothings free in the 'Military'! You owe the Marine Corps or Navy a minimum of five years for your education. Six to Eight if you go Marine or Nav Air. Depending on the community.
There’s no such thing free. I used My GI bill in 1971-1976.tuition fee Are very low. Community college Are free for 2 years in California. Next 2 years pay tuition fee
