I commented about this pen in your latest video, thanks for doing this review! You answered basically all the questions I had about it. Keep up the great content 👌🏼
I love your videos and reviews, you do a great job talking about the details about the construction of a pen that I never would have thought of. One thing I do wish you would do more often is to show where the pen balances, balancing a pen on a finger next to a ruler or something like that would help a lot! (Posted/unposted, retracted/extended, etc.) I find that balance is subjective if it's mentioned as "well-balanced" or "back-heavy" in reviews, because people's hand sizes and grip area will affect how balanced a pen will feel.
I wonder if this pen, given the oil addition, may have some ballpoint attributes? Such as writing on more surfaces, or over oil, etc. Also, the oil may allow the ink to last longer. Of course, since this is a Japanese pens there could be aspects of it which work better with kanji, hiragana, or katakana.
Thanks for the comparison. I have difficulty writing & any drag really causes me problems some days. For years I was unable to even hold a pen or pencil and I am still trying to find a pen I can write or draw with for a reasonable length of time. I have found the Energel is better, but sometimes I need waterproof ink for drawing and some of my Energel pens smudge and I can't paint over them.
I always associate Pentel with needle tip pens. As they were the first to widely market those back in the eighties. I recall my dad really liking those. But they don't seem to make a modern version, and since they were water based, and disposable, very hard to find an original that still writes today.
can you please tell me that wheather uniball sold separate ink bottles that are waterproof and fadeproof, actually i like needle tip pen like v7, but i also want a pen that is waterproof and fadeproof , unfortunately i couldn't find that pen, so i was thinking to put uniball ink in pilot v7 cartridges
Non-Skipping I assume its free-ink system? Could it be compared to Stabilo Worker+? I know your`re a lefty, too. But I always had my issues with Energel somehow. Really had to hold it like I am not pushing it from the left to give ink constantly.
I am feeling better about my obsession with smooth writing pens. 😊 By the way, they must be making the Pentel Floatune in 1.0 now because I just ordered a box of 12 on Amazon yesterday.
hello ! i saw that you did some videos about schneider pen , i am looking to buy some Schneider Slider 755 M cartidges , you think like 3 of these will be enough to write for a year of school ? in the product description it says it can write 6000meters
this feels like Pentel's direct response to the Uni Vision Elite. both come in 0.8mm, similar pricing, similar-ish design. the Vision Elite is what a lot of non-enthusiasts think of when we talk about rollerballs, so Pentel is probably trying to break into that market
@@unsharpen I'm not sure why now. perhaps it's the push for back to office? these could be good advertisement pens. could explain the colour choice too - print a logo easily
If anything, I've seen bad skipping in ballpoint and gel pens. Rollerballs, not so much. Only problem I consistently have is running through cartridges and thin paper stocks.

Glad it was helpful! Those suggestions are hugely appreciated

You should do additional tests like bleedthrough, smudging, and highlighter smudge test

There's a bunch of EnerGels in needle point actually

Uniball vision and vision elite have pigmented, waterproof, fade proof inks.
@@ecksdog dear!!, the problem is its have conical tip, and i am comfortable with needle tip, thats the issue !!!
@@user193ifkfla Look into the Vision Needle :) same pigment ink

Yea I think so. I prefer the worker plus. That’s an exceptional pen
The original Pentel Rolling Writer, the first ever roller ball, is .8mm.

Could you also review pelikan pens
yes please!
I’ll try. They are a bit pricey for my taste but it’s definitely a brand I’d like to learn more about
@@unsharpen Also i find their g2 style reservers interesting

Hard to say. Do you written a lot? Seems like you’d need more for a full year.
"missed the hyphen." nice touch. 👍
Just lighting up those guys

Good call! But the vision elite has been around for some time, so why now?

Vision Elite has tamper-resistant ink, so I am curious if this Pentel has something similar? Energel line already has models with archival ink thou...
I do like my Vision Elite. I've been trying out the newer Uni One/Feel and feeling out different colors of EnerGel and Sarasa Grand.
Does the ink smear easily?
Depends on the paper, but generally no it absorbs instead of smears.
Lubricated rollerball makes me think of Noodler’s Roller Eel line of inks.
Yes. Same concept I bet

0.8 seems like cheating a little to avoid skips. I bet 0.5 would cause problems.
Yea, it makes apples to apples comparisons a challenge
Ofcurse BIC is a long lasting "perfect" rather than short "amazing" (which is not amazing obviously)
Why do I find this so interesting, I am so confused. Been working in IT for 10+ years and probably haven’t touch a pen in 6 years
