Great reaction Todd, Bowie played this live on his reality tour which was even better live like most Bowie tunes in my humble opinion , awesome channel
Love this. ! I actually went out of town to see him on the Reality Tour. This was a time at my job when no one was allowed to take any time off but when I told my account manager he was coming to St. Louis.. I live in Memphis. Anyways, she looked straight in my eyes and said..Oh good grief, I'll never hear the end of it if I don't give you time off. She knew me well. LOL! Needless to say, I had a blast. I love "Days" off of this album. It 's funny because I hear people say that a lot about Bowie songs..that "they're not expecting that". I've come to understand to not be expecting of any certain thing with Bowie because his music is s U saw that one of your listeners requested o varied. You never get a repeat sound, in my opinion anyways. This song makes me think of him in a piano bar lounge. Always wait and love your Bowie reactions. By the way I once heard him say that if he feels comfortable with what he was doing then he's going in the wrong direction. I noticed one of your listeners requested "Slip Away" from the Heathen album. I concur.⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡
Thanks for playing that! An obscure, gorgeous song. PS - there’s a beautiful live version somewhere on UA-cam, I’ve got to find it- He’s upfront, present, and beautiful.
as always Todd, thanks for all your reactions,if you have time, please check thid true icon in his probably his most raw, beautiful vocals,,at the end of his life, the video ,,No Plan,,,,probably,i think,,,,one of his most relevant ,of all his time,,this is David Jones sayingthank you and his swansong to that whom he gave the world,,,,,DAVID BOWIE,CHEERS
Please could you react to slip away from Heathen (2002) he wrote it looking back at the late 70s when he used be fooling around watching the uncle Floyd show with John Lennon and Iggy pop, he said it was his yearning song.
@@davidfisher8821 seeing this clip from the Uncle Floyd show, Oogies numberplates ua-cam.com/video/Tov8xIg85u4/v-deo.html makes you realise why David John and Iggy loved it so much.
“Slip Away” is a GREAT song; I don’t use ‘caps’ much, but - It’s SO good. The second verse resonates for me, big time, for personal reasons - I honestly think this is on par musically, lyrically, with some of his best stuff on Hunky Dory.
To be honest… you almost talked me into like the song. This album is in my opinion one of his worst, but there are some good songs. Like Pablo, never gest old, try some buy some ( i think that it is a George Harrisson cover, but I have heard a phenomenal version by Ronnie spector( wife to Phil spector)) on the next day album, there are a lot of good songs one of my favorites is you feel s lonely. That song is one of my personal favorites of Bowie. Very depressing song, but I like it. Other suggestions are After all and the man who sold he world, maybe better known by Nirvana. It is always fun to play this song infront of Nirvana fans. They usually dont know Bowie released that song in 1970…. Btw. Yet another nice review. I will start follow you.

Most of the Reality album is pretty cool , I heard Bowie in an interview saying he wrote this album to specifically play live
Beautiful jazz piano.
Absolutely get your Steely Dan ref.
Days is my favourite it’s very sweet and real.

The Loneliest Guy is a great track, my faves (other than Disco King) are Fall Dog Bombs The Moon and Days.
Reality is a great album. Really overlooked.
This was his last album before he retired.
This song always reminds me of New York with a dash of Frank Sinatra ⚡️
Excellent reaction to an amazing song! There is a remix on the Underworld soundtrack that I think is even better than the original, worth a listen!

Fantastic song! The saddest song about a puppet show you’ll ever hear!
@@davidfisher8821 I know , the song is so sad and nostalgic xx
