I was thinking my peugeot chrome parts..what if we dont use primer coat?.just driect use paint coat...then spray 3 times clear coat..what will happen..???.hope u can help me
i did the sameting all the chrome is gone.... you know pulling off the grille and all that chrome is pretty easy to do and u will get the best job possible
Awesome job man you really made this accord look amazing from when you got it stock… accord coupes look better than foreign cars when you put some work into them like you did. I love my accord coupe . I want to get mine looking like yours…. Next you should put an after market mp3 screen deck in the interior it makes the car look 10x better inside and makes it feel 10 years newer
You did an amazing job! I have a black Accord coupe. Even Audi's and BMWS use the chrome trim, it doesn't bother me that much but I prefer black trim. I might plasti dip mine.
I lightly sanded it after it dried. The longer you let it dry the better. Put the clear coat on after half hour or more. It's better to let the paint dry properly.
F.A.T mods you put the clear coat on after the applying the black paint right? Thanks! I'll probably have to do this outside during the summer since my garage isn't big enough
And i noticed that the chrome is really just like a decal on top of the plastic trim..did you have a problem sanding the chrome? Did the chrome peel off any while sanding it?
Wow even the muffler tips are black. Great job man. I sanded first, then I did flat black and gloss black. Like 3 coats each with Rust-Oleum paint and the weather just beat it up man. Wish you showed the sanding process. I sanded the chrome so now I have no other choice but to paint it Black permanently which looks better anyway!
Looks amazing, I want to do the same to the chrome grille on my accord coupe. Do you have to sand the chrome at all? I heard the paint won't stick overtime if you don't. I saw you sand the primer but do I need to use primer? What if I just use spray paint on the chrome?
After you finished the primer did you wait for it to dry then sand it down with 800 grit, or did you sand down right away? And when did you apply the gloss? How long did you wait in-between each spray and the cure time? Thanks!!
I did this about 32 years ago on my 80 Datsun 200SX. Used wood stove paint. Which is flat or satin black. Only took one coat. Wood stove paint is a a lot more rugged. Since it has to handle several hundred degrees of heat on cast iron.
@@FATmods Certainly is. But sometimes you need to look outside the box, so to speak. WSP is seriously tough paint. Has to stand up to like 600degrees of heat. Would probably work on wheels too, which get hot from the brakes. It does come in several colors.
Looks so much better I have that same car but black and I hate the chrome also
👍
Great job Sr.I also hate chrome so, after watching your video ill go for it.Thanks for posting it
👍
Yoo this came out nicee.. gona have to do this to my accord thanks🙌
I was thinking my peugeot chrome parts..what if we dont use primer coat?.just driect use paint coat...then spray 3 times clear coat..what will happen..???.hope u can help me
It will not bond to the chrome. It will start peeling off. You have to use etching primer after you scuff up the chrome
@@FATmods so the first, scuff with sandpaper, then primer, paint spray and the last one was clear coat?..right?
Yes but etching primer and 2k clear is better.
@@FATmods thank you2...good info
Best diy job I've probably ever seen. I have a white 8th gen sedan I was going to keep the chrome until I saw this. Big ups brotha
Thanks man that means a lot
i did the sameting all the chrome is gone.... you know pulling off the grille and all that chrome is pretty easy to do and u will get the best job possible
Nice 👌 What # grit did use to sand b4 the primer

Man that looks sick bro

I wanna do mine but there's no way it'll turn out that good lol
I want to do that to mine but I'm nervous about it chipping when I put the pressure washer to it. How do you prevent chipping?
If it painted properly it will not chip. Make sure to use proper etching primer and 2k clear would be the best
Sick man!! What year and exact model accord coupe is it? I want to be looking for the right one
2013 hfp
F.A.T mods thanks! Do you have any vids of you driving this?
@@buffboyzauto no

You might get dust in the clear, try and do it inside if you can
Did the pain chip off eventually?
Yes but I used better stuff so no chips
What better stuff did you use brother? And did you ever think to just do platidip?
I will neve do plasti dip it looks cheap and doesn't last. Use upol etching primer and adhesion promoter for the plastic and 2k clear coat
And i noticed that the chrome is really just like a decal on top of the plastic trim..did you have a problem sanding the chrome? Did the chrome peel off any while sanding it?
No problem Sanding
Nice! love how that came out with the white and black trim! How soon after the clear coat did you start the black coat?
What you mean I did the black and 15 to 20 minutes I put the clear on
Very Nice And Clean Brothaaaaa!!
TPO JR HDZ thanks man
I have same car and color and did mine all black too. Haha but I did my door handles too. Came out great, good job

Ryan Osbourne what did you do when you repainted and does it stick well still?
Looks amazing, I want to do the same to the chrome grille on my accord coupe. Do you have to sand the chrome at all? I heard the paint won't stick overtime if you don't. I saw you sand the primer but do I need to use primer? What if I just use spray paint on the chrome?
Get upol etching primer and lightly sand the chrome and it will never strip
@@FATmods Thanks man, what grit sand paper should I do the chrome with?
@@justcruising6824 I think he said 800

Nicely done sir!
Farman Shaikh thank you
For a second it looked like a white/lime themed colour scheme.
Great job
Any reason you left the door handles chrome?
Because I wanted to do them white
Awesome job!!! How well has it been holding up?
Pretty good but use 2k primer and clear coat would be way better
nice video man! beautifully done!
Brian Lin thanks
