  • As you all saw on our way to the ‪@hptofest‬ the ranger broke down and left us stranded in the middle of no where for hours!!
Well Troy the good bugger at ‪@faded.co.nz.‬ brought the Ranger home to us and then another good bugger reached out to us with an motor and man to do the swap...
I pulled the engine apart and find a hole in the piston!!!

Its already been mentioned but I'll repeat it. EGR cooler. As I understand it they should be seen as a routine maintenance item and addressed well before they fail or lose efficiency.
As for a Hilux being the answer, yeah.... You could V8 swap one though!

I think it’s time to just trade in the ranger for a hilux 😂. Hoping these regular uploads keep happening 🤙🏻

EGR ... Pretty much put a tube in your ass and put the other end in your mouth is what they are... With a cooler for the exhaust gas... Otherwise you would be putting hot gas back in your intake... Put some blanking plates on your new motor and bypass the water in and out of that cooler so you don't have the same thing happening with it.... There's a Aussie guy on UA-cam that talks you through it step by step..(on a side note we've killed 5 motors at work on different utes till we blanked them off.

As a ford man through and through . The rangers are not on for tow rigs ....
Even in the F models ....
Chev is the ol trusty for towing specifically...
    Those new Z 71s are dooope .
I havnt driven or towed with one yet . But i waaaaaant too

Don’t go near a ford full size in NZ. They’re shit no one stocks parts. I deal in American trucks all day every day. Chevrolet is the only way to go with a duramax

Hate to break it to everyone in the comments section but the new hilux’s are just a junk as the rangers. Ive got a 2023 sr5 4x4 hilux and my old 2018 ranger far outperformed my hilux. Wish i never bought the pile of shit now

I have a PX2 currently sitting in my yard with a ceased motor. 113k kilometres on it. Yep EGR caused it. Ford should be ashamed they used the 3.2 no warnings nothing just blew up on the highway
