Do they work! (Ft the Bloodworm Fishbites 9-27-2021)

Trying to find an alternative to the expensive and scarce bloodworms, i figured I’d give the Fishbites bloodworms a try and see how i could do with them.

They don't work as well as bloods, maybe half as many hits at best. I use the "long lasting" ones, they have a mesh to stay on the hook. Also the gulp worms work, but not as well as fishbites.
I use them down in OBX when it takes 2 hours to go buy more bait.

Yea man, it was slow using them but no one else was catching anything either so i will have to try again on a day the fish are biting better to see if they’ll hit if they are around, plus side by side with the real worms

My fishing season is basically done due to overtime at work now, i even spread out the videos i already filmed to come out once a week on Monday’s now because i won’t be able to get out and fish

I've fished the cross bay bridge a few times and I always hold the rod in my hand because I'm afraid of the rod going over when a fish bites, what do you do to prevent this? Do you set the drag loose?

I’ll set the drag loose and I’ll place the rod at a really low angle, i never stand them straight up

Once i see a hit i pick up the rod and tighten the drag before i set the hook, works pretty well for me

@@TheReidsOutdoors sorry you had such poor luck with the fishbites, they work for me in the shrimp and squid flavor anytime I use them when I fish in the Caribbean (Jamaica). I've tried the bloodworms and sandworms fishbites on a party boat fishing for porgy after I catch my limit using live worms and never get a bite, same result with the gulp sandworms. They don't work in NYC waters.

As a cheaper option from the actual bloodworms I’d use them, worms are getting more and more expensive every year
