      Due to the nature of mushrooms in general you should cook them down in water (to lower their h20 levels since oil and water don't mix) and then proceed to cook them in oil and spices ect otherwise they'll soak up a bunch of oil. Don't worry about overcooking them it's literally impossible with everyday cooking appliances. This is how most pro chefs do it.

    Whats up Doc?
    I was watching this video,and when you said something about the humidity,i remembered the video about hay bales where you was worryed about the humidity before baleing it. What i think might be a good idea is to get a bale wrapper and make ensilage of the hay.
    Its better for the animals and the nutricional value is higher. So i have read on a danish site about hay for pigs.
    Best wishes from the Danish Carpenter

    Hey there Stoneyridge, with all them woods you own around you, next spring time, if I were you, go looking for Morel Mushrooms. They taste awesome & if you decide you wanna a few $$ in your pocket, you can sell them to a Morel dealer. They bring in lots of money!!! They are a very hard to find mushroom, w/ good guide lines to follow to ensure there are more the next year. But if you do find any....NEVER LET ANYONE KNOW WHERE YOU FOUND THEM!!! That's extremely important, that way it ensures that nobody else gets your spot! If u do get any, just let us know u were able to find some. U can always say it wasn't even located on ur property.

      @@singleman1986 I've heard that. Just by allowing as many of the spores and allowing 1 morel to desinegrate over the area that is conducive for their growth is how its done but Idk cuz I haven't bought me any land yet, but I plan to change that this coming spring/summer time. If I'm wrong pleez lmk bcuz when I buy my land, I'd love to do that. Especially going off-grid, that would be an extra plus to have.

      @Ondrea.....Each mushroom produces millions of spoors. It IS good practice to leave one here and there tho. BUT, the mushrooms are just the 'fruiting body' of a massive 'colony' of mycelium growth you don't see. Kinda like the root mass under any plant.

    • @singleman1986
      @singleman1986 5 років тому

      @Cathleen....Excellent questions. Most fungi and molds create their own 'toxic environment' for other 'competitors'. So, NO. Once a fungal or mold 'colony' gets established, other competitors get inhibited. And, yes. The fungi will continue to flush until the substrate is exhausted,

      @Cathleen....Nope. The 'role' of fungi in Nature is to decompose. Don't be shy about mushroom growing. It IS 'different', but not all that difficult once you set the conditions up. Buy your spawn from a reputable source and go for it. Step by step instructions should come with it. Best of success!

    with these steps:
    drying mushroom
    sterillize the dried mushrooms
    ''Using the Dried Mushrooms As Substrate''
    like is that even possible to use maybe 50% dried mushrooms and straw what ever to repeat the mycelium growth process.
    since the dried mushrooms is already dead it might erase its original state and just be matter if that even makes sense.
